Wow!! Meg you are superhuman. Not everyone would have held up to standing in a water and mud filled trench for days. You both did well in those conditions and on top all that you made an amazing video. I hope everything works out for the 2 of you.
To Mike. You need to give Meg a HUGE hug and kiss for all the help she is for you. I can’t count the number of women that wouldn’t dare get THAT involved with outside projects. She’s one in multimillions!!!!!
You got it wrong there , Meg is the one pushing thru all the projects. She’s the one getting all the little things going and complete. And she more then likely has a job she can do from the trailer with the inter web via star link
@@williammusgraves2852 My comment is about the work shown here. I’ve seen all the videos showing her working solo, but her tenacity in these conditions is to be admired. Most of the outdoor women video influencers wouldn’t help him. They would tell him to call his guy friends or hire it out.
A Herculean task for sure. This video brought back memories for me. I spent 40 years as an overhead and underground electric Lineman. Spent lots of time in trenches laying steel conduit in similar conditions. What really impressed me was how the two of you set the pole and installed the anchor. You did it perfectly in my opinion. Things are really coming together. Great job. You are creating life long memories
Thank you so much!! I'm glad we did it correctly, thanks for the feedback! Hope you have a wonderful week, and thank you again for the ongoing support on the channel, we appreciate you!
At 72 yrs young I have done a lot of work in my life. Retired Electrical contractor in the UK. Rebuilt a few houses & way too much to mention here. You guys are amazing. The work you are putting into making a lovely homestead is breath-taking. I have never seen 2 people work so hard. Your labour will be very fruitful in the future for sure. Hat of & a big bow from me.
Canadians are such awesome people. Down here a contractor taking extra time to help do something outside of his wheelhouse is rare, especially for no extra charge. I wish it wasn't so cold up there. I'd move in a heartbeat. I have to say, I love your background music.
Considering the conditions and it’s just the two of you, be proud! It’s amazing what y’all have accomplished in the time you have. I don’t even know you and I’m proud of you!!😃
Watching your video is like watching a suspense thriller! I kept wondering what happens next! Congratulations on the success of your unbelievable and difficult work under horrible conditions! ❤️🇨🇦
You two are unbelievable! Amazing work, amazing effort! Mike is an exceptional leader and you are an exceptional worker! Congrats to you both! You are an inspiration in so many ways! This video should have over 1 million views! Keep putting in the work! I pray that you two will build a truly bountiful youtube channel! God Bless!
The pipe you call the big o, here in Australia we call it Agricultural pipe & use it for sub-surface drainage, you can get what they call a sock for it, the sock stops all the fines from clogging the pipe, lay it in a trench with gravel around the property. At a central point you could put in a Solar powered pump lower than the pipe itself with a cistern to turn the pump on when levels start to rise. Build a box around this so you always have access. Just a thought. You are doing a great job, good team work, Cheers guys, have a nice day !!!
I totally admire you guys working in this wet muddy conditions. Growing up in South Africa, we had the opposite problem: NO WATER! I learn so much about life in Canada. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Holy moly you guys are incredible, not many people could deal with that situation like you guys are! And here in Norway we know all about it being dark and miserable after 5 😂 It is so inspiring watching you two! Keep up the good work ☺️💪🏻
Your video takes me back 40 years when I did a similar homestead in northwest Washington. I didn’t have the trench water issue you have, but my trench for underground utilities was 1300 feet long, and I didn’t start until late November. By the time I had the trench dug, the 2” water line, phone/cable conduit, and the power company FINALLY laid the power wire laid, it was then December! Cold weather had come, the trench piles had frozen and power company would not energize their wires unless I had at least a couple inches of dirt cover. Since our manufactured home had electric furnace (with a small wood stove backup), we needed electricity!!! I chipped enough dirt by hand from the piles to backfill 2” power cover, the whole 1300 feet. That was enough to make it through a few weeks till we had a brief thaw to completely backfill. All worked out, so we could fill the waterline and finally relax for the winter. Keep up the great work and look forward to your well deserved relaxation!!
I think you both are doing a great job so far. A couple of things you can do to help better your property are, first is draw some quick sketches of your land with present things and where you want any possible future projects, like gardens, storage buildings and other permanent structures. Include water, power, sewage, communication or other buried things. That will also help you KNOW where things are buried 10 years down the road. You would be surprised how much that will help in not forgetting things. Dig a well a couple of feet below the water line and install a pump and solar power with a backup battery. The water can then be pumped to a pond where you can store it for gardening, animals or other use. The dirt from the pond can be used to raise ground up where you could use it the most. Around the home or future home would be good. I'd also get a measuring wheel and some traffic cones to help lay those out.
Wow!!! What a massive projec not to mention all the water and mud to deal with. Congrats on your endurance. Keep up the great work. And also good teamwork!!!
Brilliant work guys ,through all that mud rain and freezing temperatures you pushed hard got it done and the best part is you'll soon be able to enjoy the fruit of your labor.
Hi Meg and Mike 👋🏻 Always great to hear from you! Incredible amount of hard work you are putting into your homestead, and well worth it. God Bless 🙏🏻 you, stay safe and take care my friends 👍🏻 Appreciate you always!

Wow wow wow. You two are amazing to work through all the mud and rain, and you young lady up to your waist in cold muddy water and smiling. Most men I know wouldn’t do it..❤❤❤ from the UK
Congrats to you and Mike! That is a huge accomplishment. Don’t worry about the way the land looks, you guys are a step closer to your dream. Meg, you are a rock star getting into that muddy trench. It was only an hour video but we know you were in the trench for days! Keep it up guys!
Great video! If I l owned your property, I would look into installing perforated black corrugated plastic drain tile under your property to drop your water table. Dealing with mud is going to be an ongoing issue. It could be installed just deep enough to drain water into the ditch at the back of your property with gravity OR it could go in the ground deeper and drain into a sump with a pump in it. The downside to using the sump and pump method is, the pump would be running all the time due to the amazing amount of water you have just a couple feet deep. Anyway, as you can imagine there are plenty of TH-cam videos out there about it. All the best!
I fixed up a 1977 Gaur Mobile Home one time. I empathized with every issue. I didn't see you do it in the video, but I put 2 sets of heat tape on my water lines covered in pipe insulation. You'll definitely need heat tape in Canada. Super Video! Best yet! You guys are AMAAAAAAAY Zing!
You guys are absolutely amazing! You guys works so well together and have such great attitudes. Love watching the progress and the incredible work. Keep it up!

What an intense project and mudfest! Meg, I think you and Mike can now consider yourselves experts in trench digging! Congratulations on getting water a power to your manufactured home! The orange conduit reminded of the main generator replacement at the Columbia Icefield, AB in 2021. They switched out the diesel genny for a propane powered one and had to run a new electrical cable from staff accommodations, under the Icefields Parkway, to the hotel. I look forward to your video on hooking up to the septic bed :)
Complicated! Ma brane hertz!! Good to see such remarkable progress! It's really good to see you both working as a team, you complement each other so well! So much laughter!! Just think, though, people pay a fortune for mud pack skin treatments... you're getting it for free! 🥰😂🤣😅😆
Loving all your efforts, and having more Mike in the vids! Seeing all those beautiful trees on the hill behind your property makes me want to see an episode about the nature surrounding your new property... (if you feel like a video where the filming is you two going on a hike, rather than back-breaking labour!)
Almost 9000 views and only 1700 likes???? People the more we hit the like button the more these two are rewarded by TH-cam making this project a little more affordable for them. Editing these videos is no easy task and takes up a lot of time. Let's do our part and hit that thumbs up button and show Mike and Meg how much we enjoy them sharing their journey.
@@ronw8628 Don't know but I would expect she has. I can't see anyone posting consistently as she has been to be doing so because its fun. Editing is not fun by any stretch. My point is that using current numbers 70K views and 7K likes means only 7% are hitting the like button. If for no other reason it's a way of saying thank you for sharing. Just my two cents
Wow, that was intense. Great viewing. Really good to see the progress on the property and your channel growing with it. I rememeber when you hit 10,000. Come on 100,000. Let's gooo!
When you guys install new plumbing in your trailer, make absolutely sure you fully wrap your pipes with insulation. When you think you have wrapped them enough, wrap them some more. Because if you don't you will have frozen pipes in the winter and that can lead to cracked pipes. You don't want to have to replace pipes in the winter. It's totally worth the extra money spent. You guys are doing a great job, being novices.
Amazing work! You both are so blessed & have such good attitudes. God speed to you. You probably already know this, but it's on my mind after watching, try to us ball valves rather than a gate valves whenever possible. Gate valves have a terrible habit of failing over time without use. They like to lock up and leak.
I'd advise (when you can) putting 5 gal buckets around the bottom of your hydrants. What you backfilled with will eventually plug that 1/4 inch weep hole. I've seen the perfect sized pebble plug that weep hole. Even setting silt will do it. Cut the bottom out of a 5 gal bucket and slide it down over hydrant . Fill the bucket with gravel larger than the weep hole. Cut a slit in the lid to place back around the hydrant with a 1 1/2? inch hole for hydrant . I even wrap plastic around lid and where the hydrant goes thru the lid to prevent silt, over time, filtering back into bucket and sealing it. I even put a 1/4 inch 90 degree elbow into weep hole and face it down so that perfect size rock or pebble doesn't block it as easy. I've all this happen to me or friends and of course your hydrant will freeze and break in the middle of winter! Love your channel.
You guys are really working very hard. I hope that you guys will be able to complete all of your dream projects as soon as possible. ❤❤❤ love You guys, be safe
Might be too late now, but every single one of those joints or elbows in the water lines that were buried in the channel could have been marked with a steak and later with a stone or something. Knowing exactly where those are in the future would have been a smart move.
Man, you guys are amazing! You really kicked some butt. For your main house, seriously consider solar and heat pump for heating and AC. Great work both of you. Really love your content
Moles digging holes in the mud lol. Your work ethic is great and you both make a good team. Getting it done no matter the obstacles that get tossed your way.
Where there"s a will there is definitely a way and you guys keep proving it day by day!!! Meg, you and Mike are doing a fantastic job and no doubt, it will all be worth it in the end....keep going!!! Good fortune and blessings from the southern US
Love your channel keep up the great work.. Also make sure you make a drawing of all your utilities and their locations on your site map so if you need to dig in the future you don't damage them...
Incredible journey! Was very envious of your well! We're in no. Ca. And ours is 503' deep. Needless to say we didn't drill it ourselves! Meg being in the trenches scared me a few times! Looked like it could collapse as wet as it was! 😮 Enjoy your videos a bunch!
My god, what a soupy mess, but congrats! You got water and power. That's awesome, and such a relief. That's going to help in so many ways and speed things up, I would imagine. Sewage will be even better.
As always, great job you two. The positive can-do attitude goes a long way in overcoming the headaches. Thank you for sharing with us as you do. Meg you remind me of our American farm girls, never questioning the time to dirty. You jump right in and go. Take care and be safe guys till next time.
Thank you so much Jeremy! Definitely fun to get in the mud and get dirty! Man did it get cold by the end there lol!! Hope you're having a great weekend!
@@billprell6938 I am by no means qualified in what they are doing but I would think that being deep in the ground it should create an insulating effect from being that far from the grounds surface.

Thanks so much for the feedback! Appreciate it!
Love the videos brilliant good team work, you have the determination to succeed in your ventures can't wait for next one.
Thanks so much!
Apparently, adding a comment helps the "algorithm" too!😉👍 Happy to see their subscribers growing.
Thank you Rob! Appreciate the support, and appreciate you! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!
Thanks!
Thanks so much Paul! Appreciate the Super Thanks!
Wow, that was intense. Great viewing. Really good to see the progress on the property and your channel growing with it. I rememeber when you hit 10,000. Come on 100,000. Let's gooo!
Glad you enjoyed the video!! And than you so much for the ongoing support on the channel! We appreciate you!
Small but mighty Meg!!!! Great job you guys.
Thanks so much!
WOW! You're so lucky to have a blessed land to plant anything and get massive harvests without any worries. Believe me.
Well done guys! It's all coming together nicely!👍👍
What a job!! Great video. We loved it!
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it!
I've decided you should be called Meg the Mole! You've spent more time underground than ever. Great job under very difficult conditions. 🤔🤔🤗🤗
lol!
You should look into installing some field tiles to evacuate some water from your land. It would help with the excess water and firm up the ground.
Maybe a drainage ditch through the field.
Man, you guys are amazing! You really kicked some butt. For your main house, seriously consider solar and heat pump for heating and AC. Great work both of you. Really love your content
I'm really enjoying this series! You two are super troupers! I'm an Engineer, and I wouldn't tackle half the stuff you two are doing! Bravo!
It's great to see your progress and how much your subscribership has expanded Meg!
Thank you so much!! So grateful to have you here, appreciate your support!!
Y'all are awesome. That's a lot of hard work.
Moles digging holes in the mud lol. Your work ethic is great and you both make a good team. Getting it done no matter the obstacles that get tossed your way.
Well done guys. What an awesome effort. Meg, you are an absolute machine😀
Thanks so much!
You two really work well together and with great attitudes. Looking forward to more videos.
Where there"s a will there is definitely a way and you guys keep proving it day by day!!! Meg, you and Mike are doing a fantastic job and no doubt, it will all be worth it in the end....keep going!!! Good fortune and blessings from the southern US
Thank you so much Terry!! We're grateful to have you here and thank you for the ongoing support and encouragement, it means a lot! Hope you're well!
You guys are awesome. My God what you went through to get that done. Keep them coming.
Thank you David!! More to come!
Great job running the skid steer Mike
Love your channel keep up the great work.. Also make sure you make a drawing of all your utilities and their locations on your site map so if you need to dig in the future you don't damage them...
What beautiful, rich looking top soil you have. There will be no reason not to have abundant crops..Well done with all your work.
Thank you!
That pole montage was brilliant. Great vid guys! 👍🏻🇬🇧
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
How does that not all freeze and freeze the water line with it all being so wet and covered in water??
@@billprell6938 I am by no means qualified in what they are doing but I would think that being deep in the ground it should create an insulating effect from being that far from the grounds surface.
Meg would large drain pipes (tile) work on your land. You’ve got really fertile looking land but the water needs to be managed. 🇦🇺
Awesome video, thank you both for sharing. You might have heard me shout all the way from the UK when Mike's new favourite wrench dropped down the pipe 🤣🤣
lol! Thanks Brian!
Yall are the hardest two working youtubers ever, the results eill be fantastic
Thank you so much, Bob, that's very kind!
You two are real troopers working through all of that mud on a deadline. That is one of the craziest pieces of property to build on.
