Really love your vids and problem solving skills and lets give it a go mentality , I was very much the same as a young bloke like yourself , little money and just a few tools. I've had over 100 bikes and never had a single one to a shop for repairs..... could never afford their prices , but it taught me how to do it myself and gave me a can do attitude just like yourself. One thing I didn't have was a Jenny...... she is freekin awesome and so supportive...... what a gal.

Great series of videos. I guess I got lucky. I paid 1300 for my 2002 YZ426F. Did not take the typical advice and replace piston and chain. Just reg maintenance and rode 'er like I stole it. Raced a handful of times last year. She's just a damn good running bike. Btw, glad to see you got the start-up drill down. Once you know, it's pretty easy to start.

    Binge watched that playlist...
    Great content!
Cringed myself on that shim valve adjustment, my ZZR rots in the shed because there are 16 valves need adjustment like that!
Measuring the play, taking out the camshafts, measuring the shims, calculate the needed ones, put it back together, measure again...maybe the same process again...
Not to mention the work to get into the place to measure something, removing tank, airbox, carb bank...
    :-P
Had an XTZ660 before the ZZR, the same 5-valve-layout but with rockers, wa s a joy to adjust the valves, removing two covers and adjust really oldschool, with feeler gauge and ring wrench!
    :-D
I think in bikes i will stay with 2strokes and if i want something more complicated, i start wrnching on my Transit connect diesel...
    :-D
Have fun and keep on with your good vids!
    :-)

I find it cool that the radiators on the yz426 bikes can run on water. my dad owns a 2002 Yamaha yz426 and he drives and comes back with longer hair. I'm only 13 but I want to ride it a lot. I need to get used to my bike first though. I own a 2003 Yamaha ttr230 and haven't drivin it yet. I have some parts to get for it though. it's only electric start and I don't have the keys. yes I realize the owner of my dad's bike.

A 426cc handles almost like a two stroke. It's all about that power band. Think of them like a 1984's group B rally car. Nothing happens...nothing happens.. *turbo kick in* FUCKING HELL!

Replace that air filter, it looks really greasy and nasty! Keep the vids coming. I've learned a ton by watching your stuff. Great camera work and narrative.
