To me, Anastasia will never be a Disney Princess and to be frank it kinda annoys me when people compare her to other Disney Princesses. Reason being is because unlike the other Disney Princesses, Anastasia was in fact a REAL person, a real duchess. She wasn't just based off an older version of a dark tale or even loosely based off a real person but with a completely altered story and a different name (Think of Vlad Tepes compared to Bram Stoker's Count Dracula) Even Rasputin was a real person and the Romanovs believed him to be a holy man (because his methods to cure the youngest child and only son of the Romanovs, Alexei seemed to actually work) and that his prediction actually came true when he said that the Romanov family would die. They even included the Russian Revolution, the execution of the Romanovs, and the fact that there were imposters pretending to be Anastasia. The entire story is circled around real events that actually happened. That's what makes Anastasia unique and different from the typical fictional Disney princess.
Pocahontas was a real person yet she's a Disney princess but Anastasia story could be flipped like they did with Pocahontas story instead of basing it off the real persons.

If Merida from Pixar can make it, Anastasia can. If Disney wants to claim they're "diverse", they shouldn't leave out an entire section of the planet. Sure there's plenty of European princesses but West European is an entirely different culture than East European
anastasia has been added to disney plus, so i think they were probably working through some contracts for them to get the rights to put it on the streaming service. (enchanted is a disney movie, but isn't on disney plus, and I'm pretty sure it's because they're working through some contracts)

They are still in talks as a ex disney cast member and they are fighting to have all films on Disney plus but the servers and memory that the app has to stream world wide is only able to keep a few in the app at a time that is why they had a update a few months ago which removed a lot of films and tv shows to add the Simpson and the other tv show from fox.
