    Walking around the streets in London I'm sick to death of having to constantly breathe in someone else's cigarette and vape smoke - and it's getting worse. I have to cross over to the other side of the street to try and avoid the harmful chemicals. I can't emphasize enough that exposure to even secondhand smoke is extremely damaging to your heart and it should be banned !!

    It need to be banned in general. Public and inside homes.
    Even at home I find ash and cigaret buts in my garden.
    Not to speak of damaged garden furniture and other stuff.
    I can't even walk on my socks in my own garden to fill a bird feeder or the waterbowls.
    It's disgusting, who knows what someone carries in their body and it is on these sigaret buts.
    Besides this, my grandma was a heavy chainsmoker. She didn't even care ONE BIT that her grandchildren inhale her damaging smoke. As infant and older.
    Now as an adult we have lung problems. I even got hospitalised for lung bleeding!
    Smokers should be banned for any healthcare they need for their own addiction damages.
    Same for alcoholists and drug users.
    Or they pay just the full ammount without healthcare coveregde.

      have to improve mental health A LOT before you ban them from health care. a lot of it stems from mental trauma. I'm for the ban but I totally see why people need a quick fix... they need a cure, which is therapy.
      I'll feel so relaxed knowing my kids can't buy a cancer stick. atm they 4 and im pregnant with our second. hopefully they won't know what smoking is :)

    I am anti smoking but people have the right to smoke if they want. All they have to do is ban it in public so we no smokers don't suffer.
    The government make millions from smoking.

      What if the smokers have kids and they smoke in their home? They're making their children a secondhand smoker. Or what if they live in an apartment complex where the smoke can easily sweep to their neighbors. We should ban it everywhere.

      They have to do a lot more than that. Maybe stop selling tobacco from sweet shops that are sold to children would be a great start.

  • @dancoways
    @dancoways หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    it will never work; all it will do is create more of a black market for tobacco. Allow adults to make their own choices. If you want to take away the burden from the health system and taxpayers, then exempt smokers/drinkers from certain treatments if it's deemed their illness has come from smoking or drinking.

      @@85catnip I think you've entirely missed the point of this here. This hasn't been put in place to stop those born in 2009 from smoking now, it's put in place so that once they reach legal smoking age, they still won't be able to. Hence my comment about letting adults make their own choices. Unless of course you're happy for your government to overreach into your personal choices?

      New Zealand recently repealed a similar law after realizing its problems. Less tax money in a time when more money is need to improve councils, NHS, and more, as well as a larger black market selling fake cigarettes that are far more dangerous.

    • @dancoways

      @@SOFTCOCOGIRL vaping is not smoking. The reason a lot less people are smoking now is because vaping helped them stop. Vaping is now the world’s number one quiet smoking method. It’s also been around for 20+ years and not a single death or harm from nicotine vaping has happened.

    The ban is needed and we need police to stop people smoking in public spaces...I don't care if people choose to smoke in their own home just as long as I don't have to breath it...

    I don't smoke cigarettes now, I switched to something called a Ploom (coming up to my fith week) they use sticks of pure tobacco, none of the nasty chemicals you get what they call sessions that last 5 minutes eVO smokes that they use costs £4.50 for 20, cheaper than normal smokes and I feel healthier (smoked ordinary smokes for 30 years)

  • @tazzy6403
    @tazzy6403 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I'm all for freedom and liberty myself. I used to smoke for a long time. One reason i think the ban makes sense though is because it does affect other people, particularly the NHS. Your choices affect the pressure on that. If you paid for your own health care then banning it doesn't make as much sense
