    26:17 When we worked with testing eval boards, we would frequently need to mod them to take specific measurements and such, and soldering a wire to a passive was one of the main ways to do that. The key is to use very fine gauge wire (usually 26 ga or smaller) and then tape or superglue it down before soldering to make sure the strain relief was properly done. The "weight" of the wire (and also it's resistance to bending) is mainly what rips off passives, so having that will help a lot. After that, some Kapton tape is almost always enough, but if you want to make extra sure, then a dab of superglue works.
    That said, measuring PSU ripple under high transient workloads is actually pretty tough. Most guides will have you set your 20 MHz BW limit on the scope and probe the end of a cap with the little spring connector, but that's not always feasible, especially when your load transients are faster than that. To avoid noise, I once got some ultra-subminiature coax cable and soldered it to the point of interest. The shielding is sufficient for most noise as long as it's far enough from the magnetics. However, such cable is extremely difficult to work with and NOT cheap.

    Since few, if any, are posting it; the proper format for BIOS Flashback / no-CPU flashing on MSI boards is FAT or FAT32, 8192 Byte sector size ("Allocation unit size") with the BIOS you wish to flash onto the board being called MSI.ROM on the USB drive.
    it varies slightly from brand to brand (I think Gigabyte wants 4096 byte sectors?)

    since this costs the same as the X570 Tomahawk (it has a worse VRM, no post code reader let alone clear CMOS button) and costs a lot less than the X570 Unify (which is hardly any better) this is a braindead easy choice to buy. Though its weird that this board has a 6 pin meanwhile the X570 Unify does not.

    I'm using one of these with 64GB of GSkill 3600-18 and a 5950x. The CPU runs at 100% 24/7 processing with only a weekly restart. And I use it for browsing, and editing at the same time. All together this makes for a super-package of stability and performance. It's processing about 45% faster than my 3900x on the Aurus Master X570. And it runs about 15C cooler at the same temps. I want to pull the 3900x and pop another 5950x into that slot and get more work done. And the prices look like they might get below $700 in time.

      Better VRMs for over clocking. The biggest difference between b550 and x570 is PCIE 4.0 support. X570 has all lanes 4.0 ready while b550 limits you to the top x16 slot and at least the top m.2 slot for 4.0. • @XX-121
      @XX-121 ปีที่แล้ว

      what are you talking about? there are 2 8 pin cpu connectors at the top of the board. you only need one for proper operation. especially on good power supply that has a strong single 12v rail it's basically redundant and pointless to plug one in. i guess they do it because of power supplies that come with cables for it. plus your gpu get's it's own plug.
      are you sure you should be messing around with the inside of your computer?

      Steve was saying it for keeping dual rank per channel (4x single rank 8gb) but you can buy single dimms with dual rank (16gb each). When doing pure memory OC it is always better to do two sticks and not four. Steve was saying it purely for memory efficiency on zen3.
