2020 Ducati Superleggera First Ride Review

- As the world is flying past at a rapid pace, it’s all I can do to mentally process the rate of acceleration and the sheer speed of the Ducati Superleggera V4. When all 234 horses are unleashed from the mighty Desmosedici Stradale R, forget turn one - all of these thoroughbreds are hell-bent on launching me to the future, completely bending my perceptions of time, speed, and reality. I’m Captain Picard to the Superleggera’s Starship Enterprise, warp drive has just been engaged, and we’re about to leave behind streaks of starlight as we blast off. Doing it again and again is intoxicating, it’s breathtaking, and it’s simply incredible. This is what it’s like when Ducati engineers are allowed to let their imaginations run free and build the baddest machine they can. God bless ’em.

Dreams matter.
The price is too damn high and also that price as mentioned $20k for a swing arm...That makes it out of league for so many potential buyers. I mean if someone really does want to buy this bike, surely he will. But that number of buyers are already decreased. One could buy a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja zx10r in 2016 for less than the price of a new swing arm. zx10r have got one powerful engine and every possible accessory a person would lookout for in a bike. A good strategy by Ducati for making only 500 of these majestic bikes. Hope that all 500's of them are sold. Love from Pakistan for Ducati ❤️

Ducati is flop...they only increase is price...for us who lead middle class life thanks to Japanese bike those bike are better in both performance and reliability Better than any Ducati product...they cost less..in my country r1 cost around 15,000$.....A r1 is more than enough to beat any Ducati and also a r1 is most rider friendly bike ...very easy to control and less cost to maintain..

So while Japanese manufacturers are technologically superior, Ducati will have that niche place for itself, no wonder it is called as Ferrari of motorcycles 😁👍
@@thulasidalam yes but looking nice is not all about.. it's a bussiness policy brother..bcz wroldwide people alwyas pick up Japanese bike due to affordable and low cost of maintenance as well as hell of a performance...Most people like us alwyas saw Ducati but can't afford it ,, it's beautiful for sure..But their business policy is not like Japanese gaints...😁

You have to learn, depending on the income level, the definitions of words such as ‘good’...’fair’....’reasonable’...’affordable’.... can be different than yours.

@@md.shaonprinceshuvo5412 that's not robbery, its a low production part. No one makes swing arms out of carbon fiber. The amount of research and development in making that kind of part justifies its price. Its not just a piece of fancy carbon fiber.

You know at first, I thought this was just overkill. But it's a Ducati and it shows what they can really do, I would like to see this and an HP4 race together (even though it's a few years "old"). The 1299 SL has been the pinnacle in my eyes because it was just such a beast and it encompassed what I love about a Ducati, raw power and emotion. This is just an impressive machine. Great review and I'm jelly you got a go on this machine!

Only problem if history is the guide you rarely see anyone getting their moneys worth out of these expensive bikes. They tend to be trailer queens. So in the true nature of riding enjoyment people tend to have more fun on "cheap" bikes. These for the most part are just to brag about.
I think it'll be pretty easy to ride another bike. I won't have to worry about throwing a $100,000 motorcycle down the road.

Ducati ROAR is signature, NO music to be added to spoil this! On occasion: driving 100 mph (160 km/h) on Italian Autostrada: Ducati! Opened window, Ducati pulling up full at that speed: magnificent!! Again, Ducati does NOT need music when it roars!! Added music is an insult to the Ducati.

Not gonna lie. Mr. Squizzles made me pucker a little as he ran across the track.
Someone else noticed the constant short shifts and long breaking zones?. Don't want to knock the review, pretty good stuff, it just looks like you haven't even begun to approach the limit of this bike. Besides the weight difference, I'm sure the experience between this and the V4R was very similar. Most people anyway, including myself, would have a very hard time extracting all the juices of any superbikes. Best leave this to collectors.

All 500 were sold before they even launched. The price is not too high if they all sell, but the fact that nothing in the world even comes close to its weight and performance shows it’s worth the price to those willing to pay for it.
Ducati makes cheaper bikes, but every 4-5 years they make a new SuperLeggera, and each time it’s the best motorbike in the world bar none at the time of its release. Always a limited edition to a few hundred units, and always sold out before it officially launches

Although undoubtedly Ducati makes one of the coolest bikes on Earth. The panigale, V4r's and this Leggera are just wow ❤️
By the way if i had a chance to keep 2 superbikes at once, they would be 2013 gsxr1000 with voodoo exhaust system & 2016 zx10r with the m4 exhaust ❤️❤️

They could have honestly said that bike was 200k and it would have been sold out instantly. It is a collector bike unfortunately. Most won't ever see the track with a production number that low.

Laguna Seca has a sound limit. I think it was 103db on this day. There's a booth off-screen, to the right of where the cones are, monitoring the bike as it comes past. This bike is wayyyyy over the limit if I went through there wide open, so they asked us to take the cone chicane. That way we wouldn't blow the sound meter.

Not for street bikes. They need heat which you wouldn't get pulling up to the first stop sign.
