Great topic! We tend to make a list of activities and prioritize them with a key question --what would we regret not doing if time runs out (or weather doesn't cooperate, or an emergency or illness pops up)? You never know and having a nice list of active, less active, outdoor, indoor, expensive, economical, etc makes sure you hit the ones you want, but have options just in case. Would love a bucket list planner sheet!

We will work on a bucket list planner sheet for sure. I love your perspective of thinking of things to do if time ran out. That helps move certain ideas onto of list.

I can't overstate to research and plane your trip . You don't want to have a bad trip and waste money and time. Six months out is a good time to start your planning !

Great advice! We're actually on vacation now. We love to do active things and some cultural. I don't really want to do an overseas trip but want to visit every state (I have visited over half). When we get home we are going to plan a few more vacations for the rest of the year. We have a timeshare that allows us to visit many places. How long is your African trip?😃

Visiting every state is a great goal. Our Africa trip is about 17 days. Three different destinations

We are funding Roth accounts just for travel, so the withdrawals don't increase taxes due in retirement.
