The "poor eating" segment is the best. Eating healthy and eating the right volume and mix of calories is a something we try to do every day. This helps with physical mobility and helps us maintain target weight without effort or angst. Our jeans tell us the truth about our weight, not the scale. Fresh air and hard work doing chores and other outdoor physical activity not only burns calories, but also unclutters the mind. People cannot believe it when we tell them we are in our early 60's. "You can't be that old, you look so healthy!". No higher compliment. :-)

Like many folks, I worked 36+ years at same company "with my head down (doing more for the company each year) and at age 60, I retired with "burn out" health problems on Feb 29 2024. Since then, I've been watching your many videos before bed time and think about your messages - to slowly let your info-shares sink into my thick skull. Love ALL your vidoes / messages. Thank you for making me think "outside my norm" and see different perspectives for my future life choices. Thank You.

Hey Penny- Retirement is defined as “Ceasing to Work”. Never asked them to give their money away to charity. Just saying they are not “FULLY retired”. They have topics to copy, videos to shoot, deadlines to meet to keep the cash coming in with their TH-cam channel. Good for you if you need this Advice via TH-cam in your retirement.

I'm with Mark - I know myself well enough to know I NEED something to do or I will either go stark raving mad or become a total sloth! And yes, I also meditate on a regular basis. Have you tried EFT (tapping)? Also great!
I need to work for my social connections. Living in an extremely small (like living with extended family small), isolated community I have few opportunities locally to socialize without working outside of the community.
All great ideas - thanks for sharing!

When you retire you have twenty years or more of good life without the worry of having to put food on the table. You can do a lot in that time, think how much you did in your first twenty years, but so many retirees fritter the time away.
We have had a fantastic twenty years of retirement so far and it does make me sad to see how many waste the opportunity and particularly let their health slide through a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet. Many people, and even retirement experts, seem to treat health as a predetermined destiny but how long you stay healthy and active and out of hospitals is largely up to you.

Another really good video😊And, Jody and Mark, I truly enjoy your little verbal fights, they are so funny and always make me smile😃 But what I love most is, that you really listen to each other. That is so important! And it really doesn't happen often nowadays- even with friends. But there is one more thing, I want to mention: Please also check your doctor for the eyes(I don't know the english word). This is really important, because there sometimes can be high inner eye pressure or something like that without feeling it.

I totally agree on health and doing all aspect from food, strength, agility, flex/stretch and cardio. Not just part. I'm confident chronic conditions would be less.. Strong muscles are great but in a fall, if they don't stretch enough when needed, can add pressure to bones/joints/etc., for added damage. As always, exercising the mind muscle to keep it strong too.
I started changing my residence more intensely to fit my needs, when I moved past the employed years. Lighter, brighter, more refreshing. Cleaner lines and even less stuff. I never had that much stuff around, but with the added hours at home to notice, it seems like more. As I figure out my needs, try new things, activities, what doesn't fit, is out of here.

Why retire at all? Isn't the purpose of life to take on as much responsibility as possible and delivering on it? I mean....Im 38, and don't plan on ever retiring. I do plan on not working for someone else soon, but for myself. But I cannot imagine "retiring". My dad got 1 year from retirment and dropped dead of a heart attack at 59. His dad retired and mammaw died that next year of cancer. I know so many people who retire then just die. I plan on getting up at 6am every morning the rest of my life and have something to work towards.

Maybe you see yourself “giving back with your TH-cam channel, however your profiting off this (you even mentioned “oh that’s really a WORK TRIP”) So you are STILL ON THE JOB. You might consider taking your own advice & really enjoy a FULL retirement soon😁and maybe you could even give back by volunteering…. Just a thought from an experienced retiree.
