Used the Scarpa Crux for any scrambling that is moderate and covering long distances. It's more comfortable and durable. It's decent for hiking and decent on ridges so best for average, all-around days. Leather is not most breathable but I personally like leather for a more stable shoe probably because I'm 46 and like a little more cushion and stability. I like the newer generation shown here better than the previous one. One annoying thing is the tongue wants to creep down to the side and needs adjustment. I'm waiting for the T X guide to come back in stock for summer to try out the fit. If it's really more toward the fit of the La Sportiva Boulder X then that will be my next technical shoe. The Boulder X is great for climbing in shoulder seasons because the rubber is good on wet rock. It is full leather and can handle any tough sections, good at edging, and not terrible on smaller spring snow sections. The sole is rigid and thin and the toe box is narrow so it is on the uncomfortable end which is just how climbing shoes work. TX4 didn't fit well so I hope the Guide fits right and I'm curious about the BD shoes.

there's 2 different La Sportiva TX Guide model. One is the non-leather upper while the other is with the leather upper.
Many of them are to throw out after one or two seasons - if you use them or not thanks to the material of the sole / middle sole. Not so great.
What’s the best shoe for a steep descent on dry dirt and gravel. That’s what gives me the most trouble.
