125 pounds of weight loss so far and pedaling my bicycle, got 949 miles on it now , training for Ragbrai, which stands for Register annual great bike ride across Iowa, last week of July 2023. I go to the gym 4 days a week and walk 20 to 25 times a month 2 miles at a time. Mav videos are the best by far and inspired me to live life again and make the most out of it. Best wishes to you. 😊 Denna from Connecticut .
Hey, Dena, I'm so sorry for your loss! I lost my husband of 18 years and father to our daughter on this day in 2012. I've lost a lot of family, many in a short time but I can't imagine losing a child! The reason I started watching Mav in the first place was when he reached out to Steve Wallis after he lost his "Beautiful Wife" last year. I feel like Mav is such a sweet, thoughtful young man (like my son-in-law). I can see why you like to watch his videos to honor your son's dreams! Best wishes!
👀 "suburban mom" vibe you said while making your dinner.....I will take that as a compliment, as a 53 year old mother of a 14 year son old living in the suburbs, I currently do and have gone camping for the last 40 years including 2 years in the Peace Corps living without electricity and running water....Don't count us suburban moms out now!❤
I was born in Kamsas City Missouri 70 years ago. Then we moved to Las Vegas Nevada but when I was young we visted Springfield every summer.. So beautiful and I always came home with a sack full of gourds..So many fun things to see and do.
Well, first of all, thanks for the hometown vibes, Mav! I grew up in Missouri, and my dad was from a little town called Bourbon, near Sullivan. I haven't been there in a long time, other than to visit my family's grave at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. (My dad was in the army in Korean War and my late husband was in the AF. He died on 5/19/2012). As far as the suburban housewife's recipe goes, it looked like you jazzed it up as much as possible, especially for a late-night dinner! Btw, you asked, so I'm sharing my Grandma D's family beef vegetable soup recipe, and you can do with it what you will. It's very easy, and a great crock pot meal on a rainy day or awesome when you're feeling down or know you have a lot going on during the day and want to just "throw everything in" and come home to a nice hot meal. I made it when my daughter was growing up when she was sick or just needed something warm and comforting. You take a pound of stew beef, a packet of beefy onion dry onion soup mix, and cut up fresh carrots and potatoes (I don't peel mine, but it's up to you). Add 4-6 cups of beef or vegetable broth, then as many fresh, frozen (or canned if you must) veggies as you want, corn, green beans, and peas are what I usually use, and the secret ingredient is a can of stewed tomatoes. Serve it with a side of crusty warm French bread and butter after a day of fishing or whatever and voila! It's great to have on a winter's day, too.
6 minutes in … the Mom in me was asking ‘why are you doing this?!’. So glad you listened to your gut & took trail 2! Great drone coverage Mav… good to see you in the truck! Keep Trucking!

Sick to see Mav here in Missouri, I grew up running all up and down the MT Forest so this has got to be my favorite video since the Japan series, keep it up Mav, love all your camping videos
Thank you, friend, as someone facing physical challenges these videos are appreciated. My dad and I used to go out and explore but as he's gotten up in age that's not possible. I sure do miss the adventures.
Just found your channel recently, and I really enjoy it. I am in my 60s and have done a lot of what you do my whole life. I drove the Alcan back in the early 80s (1982 back when it was still all gravel except for around Whitehorse where there was around 20 or so miles of pavement) in an 81 Toyota SR5 4x4 with a used camper cap I purchased for 200 USD and lived out of it for months. Just a thought, with the number of subscribers you have you might want to consider getting a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and install an UrsaMinor roof replacement or a Gladiator Rubicon and an Alu Cab Canopy Camper. Those vehicles would open up so many more areas you could get into that you just won't be able to reach in your Ford or other vehicles that I have seen you use.
Hey! I’ve been wanting to invite you to the Ozark Mountains in Missouri for awhile now! Some of the most beautiful spring fed rivers you’ve ever seen. Camping is amazing! So glad you came. Welcome!
I know this is an old video but I came across your videos recently and im catching up but just wanted to say you’re the man!!! Huge inspiration and one of the few people on TH-cam who anyone at any age can look up to! I’m actually inspired by you to convert something into a camper of sorts and I have never thought of it before I watched your videos. Also love how positive you are in the very situation and overall just a great person, your parents did a great job raising ya, keep on truckinnnn!!!!!
Hi mav! I’m from Missouri and spend a lot of time down in that area. A lot of those trails are logging trails and could just dead end. You should also think about getting those ball joints fixed. They are squeaking bad lol

Those ball joints in the front suspension sound really gnarly. I'd say grease them but most vehicles don't have grease fittings anymore. But if you do replace them make sure the new ones come with grease fitting also known as "Zerk" fittings.
nice mav! I just got home from a road trip to Maine from Oklahoma! it was great i found a really old pocketknife buried out in the woods in waited Maine. it's gotta be 50+ years old. was a great adventure for sure!!

Hobo dinners is amazing... we use ground beef crumbled ...potato chuncks, onions chunks, carrot chunks, & any other vegs you might want in yours... make a foil type boat shaped bowl out of foil & add all the ingredients you want in your own personal hobo dinner...add pats of butter on top & salt & pepper to taste...add about a 1/4"- 1/2" of water then wrap it well all the way around like a big pouch that hold the water & steam inside... throw each individual hobo dinner on a grate up over the coals from a very hot fire ...soooo good, hearty & simple... our kids grew up camping & this is still one of their absolute favorite camp meals... also we have cast iron hobo pie makers...we butter the outside of 1 side (butter them well) of 2 slices of white bread...add pizza sauce, mozerella, mini pepperoni's etc & add 2nd slice of bread on top with butter side out... close & latch hobo pie makers & use knife to trim off any bread sticking out of pie make... then we put the pie maker part down in the hot coals & flip it after doing a check on the side touching the coals...& thats how we make pizza pockets in the hobo pie makers over the fire when camping... can do pie filling in them for dessert... can also make ham & cheese ones... breakfast ones by adding scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, cheese, etc in them...the possibilities are endless with cast iron hobo pie makers 😁

This works for me... if I'm tired i take a nap first before i eat. Then i get up and eat. And I never eat past six in the evening i always walk 30 mins. after i eat. If I need a snack I make sure it's not sugar...because food turns into sugar. Now this is not for hypoglycemia people. Cool video.

Something you might think about which is 2 day a drive away. in the Gila Wilderness and Western New Mexico. And a place called The Gila Cliff Dwellings. If you're ever up for that type of Adventure!!!
Just a little bit west of where you were is one of my favorite spots in the world. Absolutely beautiful part of the country, I'm glad to call home close by. Come back to MO anytime.
I literally do this every weekend here in Florida. Just get lost!! Hit the trail, see where ya end up. Cook a tailgate dinner and sleep in my truck. Friggin love it!!
Alright, here's a recipe for ya. Lightly butter a burrito wrap (if you can find Chipotle wraps I highly recommend) lightly grill it, chop up some Boar's Head Blazing Buffalo Chicken (1/3 to 1/4 quarter pound). Add whatever cheese you like. Dice up some tomatoes, add salt and pepper, and red wine vinegar to taste... (if vinegar isn't your thing, use an entire lime squeezed over it before you wrap it) doesn't get any easier my dude. Add your chip of choice (I prefer Nacho Cheese Doritos) and sleep well. Love the videos.
Welcome to The Show Me State, where I grew up and still go kayaking and camping. From Springfield, if you go east, you will arrive at the beautiful Ozark National Scenic Riverways with easy canoeing or kayaking, and if you go south a a few miles you come to some beautiful crystal clear lakes. Great camping in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas! (Random dirt road with no communications unless you have a satellite messenger or StarLink which you do, but most don't.) I have been in Mark Twain, and a lot of the "roads" were made by Jeeps, Hummers, and 4 wheelers...
Hey Mav that squeezing your truck is making is possibly sway bar bushings or control arm bushings I know you did a couple of work on the truck but one of those two is bad and if it's control arm bushing is you want to get those changed ASAP. You don't want your wheel breaking off

Tomorrow's a new day with endless possibilities! Hope it goes better for ya brother! Keep on truckin!
Please don’t curse. Not lovely.
Not gonna lie that quesadilla looked amazing and easy to make. And reading before bed is actually really good for you especially in comparison to scrolling on a smartphone or watching tv.
Great video, I live in Missouri. Did you happen to see any snakes while you were in the Mark Twain national Forest?
This classic Ford jingle is so iconic, feels like it has become a part of this channel
You really should wash all your fruits and vegetables. They have so many pesticides and dirt on them.
Something you might think about which is 2 day a drive away. in the Gila Wilderness and Western New Mexico. And a place called The Gila Cliff Dwellings. If you're ever up for that type of Adventure!!!
Am I the only one on here wanting going crazy bc mav didn’t post last Sunday ???
Just a little bit west of where you were is one of my favorite spots in the world. Absolutely beautiful part of the country, I'm glad to call home close by. Come back to MO anytime.
Would love to see you start bowhunting would be a great addition to the channel during deer season
"What's the worst that can happen, we're by ourselves, 20 miles down a random dirt road"? I love your enthusiasm so much. It's hilarious.
Always great content!! Leaves me wishing your videos were 2 hours. Thanks Mav
Yup
I literally do this every weekend here in Florida. Just get lost!! Hit the trail, see where ya end up. Cook a tailgate dinner and sleep in my truck. Friggin love it!!
Spent almost 4yrs in Missouri bc of the military. Loved every second - you made me very nostalgic. Thanks, Mav!
Hell yes!! Great seeing you enjoy Missouri, and I hope you got some KC barbecue on the way home!!
Welcome to my neck of the woods, Mav. Missouri has some hidden gems. I'm glad you could share one with the world. 👌
I can't wait for the clean out the fridge video, T-shirt, patch, hat and bumper sticker, heck I want the first printing.
Ken Jr
Living in this area. Welcome. It is a beautiful sight and place to live/ be at.
Hey Mav that squeezing your truck is making is possibly sway bar bushings or control arm bushings I know you did a couple of work on the truck but one of those two is bad and if it's control arm bushing is you want to get those changed ASAP. You don't want your wheel breaking off
Right in the beginning, as I saw the terrain, I knew he was in Missouri, before he said it. Welcome to Missouri Mav. Hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery we have here in this state.
I had to back down 10 miles on a dirt road along the Oregon coast, that shit was fun as hell, parked up next to the beach after and ate some shroom chocolates with my friend. Those are the moments ✨️
I was definitely shocked when I first watched this video. Been watching you for a couple years now. All of sudden I see the driving range I go to all the time!! Crazy stuff you came down south to the beautiful ozark! So cool!
Great video!! I could have watched another 5 mins of those drone shots!
Should do the New Jersey Pine Barrens. It is the largest natural area on the Mid-Atlantic seaboard, it is a heavily forested area covering over 1.1 million acres and its underground aquifers have trillions of gallons of the purest drinking water in the country.
That truck is a beast to be driving through those tight trails. Nice!
hell ya man i myself am from missouri glad to see you stopped by!
I love my General Tires also, got them because of expedition overland. Now all you need is a white lithium grease sponsor for that squeaky suspension, when I had my f150 it did the same thing.
Hell yeah brother, love the videos, and I’m actually a viewer from Missouri. Great to see you enjoying the weather.
Also love the Pierce the Veil
Mav,more regular videos pls! ...watching from Dubai
Your channel is the best advertisement for Ford I’ve ever seen!
Well, that was fun! Thanks Mav...cool idea, love you back in the truck! Drone footage added bonus.
adventure trucking at it's best, tree stubs, deeper water puddles, armadillo spotting, I'm loving it MAV such good content thanks. Michelle in Jerusalem Israel. Armchair camper...
Mav, I love watching your videos! You r not only entertaining & informative but u also take me places I would never see otherwise! It's been a pleasure not only watching your channel grow but seeing you & your brand become beyond sucessful! Enjoy! 😊
Yeah I bet the weather feels awesome !!! I was feeling the same way lately
I'm a big fan of blue cheese with buffalo chicken. Mark Twain forest looks awesome! I'm gonna have to put that on my bucket list
Thanks for showing my home state some love and keep on trucking.
I knew it was going to be Mark Twain! A long time ago, in another life, I had my basic training and AIT at Fort Leonardwood, which is near Mark Twain. We did a whole bunch of training out in those woods. Granted, your set up in much nicer than the cramped, two person tents and foam pads and MRE's we had, haha.
Jeez. Those popcorn chickens u got brings me back. When our daughter was born we received those popcorn chickens from a visitor while we were still in the hospital cuz the hospital food wasn't what you'd call gourmet. Time sure flies.. she's 8 now. Haven't seen that chicken since
my lord mav what a wonderful weekend we both had. beautiful weather for the out doors. it was 80° on saturday and by monday morning it was snowing and 23°. gotta love the midwest
That squeaking bro! I feel your pain. They don't make the vehicles like they used to. Great video brother and thanks!
As a follow up I'd like to see my man upgrade to a tundra with a true overlanding setup. You'd never look back.
