Hey Mav, I lived in northern Japan (Miyagi Prefecture) for three years. Sapporo is the best nature in all of Japan. And I love that you are cooking Japanese dishes while you are there. In Japanese, instead of Bon Apetit, you say itadakimasu. To help us remember, we jokingly say "Eat a duck we must"!
Isn't it pronounced "sup-or-oh"? You'd probably be one to ask. lol

What would you say are the must see sites in that Sapporo area?
@@George-nx8zu To me, more than sites to see, I think the best things are the festivals. Japan is an ancient society whose culture is second to none in the world. Sapporo is world famous for the Snow Festival (Yuki Matsuri) and the Yasakoi Suran Festival in early summer. Of course, being from Alaska, I love the national parks and nature possibilities. To combine nature and festivals, check out the Onuma Lake Festival in July. But again, to me the best of Japan can be found in the people, their culture and traditions (and they generally love it when visitors participate).
Man, nothing makes me more stoked for Mav than to see him traveling through Japan and seeing him be able to ball out and enjoy the fruits of his labour. All achieved through honest, genuine passion and no clickbait BS. Keep on truckin brother!!!

Japan is beautiful in general but I would imagine there is so many places I’ve seen in north Japan specifically that would make for fantastic camping ( bears aside 😅). That Toyota is absolutely gorgeous. Ty for taking us along this trip it’s honestly breath taking. I think it’s safe to say you have convinced tons of us to add this to the bucket list ❤

Life hack: usingどうも (doumo) instead of ありがとう(arigatou) as thank you when traveling in Japan, it’s way more easier to pronounce and more polite when talk to strangers, cuz people normally says ありがとうございます(arigatougozaimasu) and it takes forever to say it right if you don’t speak Japanese

I have a hunch this will not be Mav's last trip to Japan. Not that he doesn't mesh well with anywhere he goes but there's something special about Japan to Mav and it shows. 💚
Many years ago I had a Japanese exchange student one summer. She was wonderful, kind, polite, intelligent, and fun. Our family loved her! It's nice seeing Japan from your perspective.

The Land Cruiser looks sick
its so nostalgic to see a cramped vehicle like that again, kinda miss the old setup but can't deny the experience of the full fleet you've collected. you should have hit up this other truck camper called tabi-ie hes got a fairly large following and I think the two styles would have been neat to see. plus he seems to know all the best camping spots.

18:25-You can use black gutter wire screens they have them at any hardware store. They are perfect because they literally lock in the window perfectly. You just have to cut them to fit your windows.

I watch quite a few TH-camrs in Japan. Just before they eat, they say "itadakimasu." Which means "I humbly receive" unless said before a meal, then it is comparable to 'bon appetite'. I have been obcessed with Japan since my sister and her husband lived there for three years for his job! My nephew taught English there for about a year as well! I am so glad you are enjoying your trip!

You all guys know that the videos of Mav are just beautiful. Watching them feels always like sitting in front of a fireplace with a warm hoodie and a warm drink. That coziness makes me feel every single video. But it looks so easy, edited in a very entertaining way. Mav that you are enjoying yourself so much, transporting that simplicity of living is more work as it looks like. I do live by myself in a camper and knows that adventure and as well that struggle that comes with it. You make it look so easy and remembering me every time what kind of great life I have.
