Sabah belongs to the Philippines ,the Sultan of Sulu lease it to the British in 1878 and the Brits never gave it back to the Philippines through the Sultan of Sulu. Malaysia interprets it differently they said that the Sultan of Sulu already sold it to the Brits. The catch is, for decades, Malaysia paid the heirs of the Sulu sultanate RM5,300 or around $1,200, based on the 1878 agreement. For the Philippines, that Malaysia is paying rent means Sabah was only leased to the British. Malaysia, on the other hand, considers the RM5,300 as payment for the cession of Sabah. Malaysia said they stopped paying rent to the Sultan heir since 2013 and refused to give it back to the rightful owner

Sabah true owner is sultanate of sulu part of the philippines...
The Philippines derives its claim to Sabah from the Sultanate of Sulu, which once ruled the southernmost region of the Philippines. The sultanate asserts that the territory of North Borneo was a gift from the Sultan of Brunei, as a reward for Sulu's aid in a war in the 1600s.
Glad you continue pursuing this travel vlogging and you look like you’re enjoying being independent meeting other go pro vloggers creating friendships and memories with them. It’s different to be a woman traveling the world by your self alone so it’s nice to join with groups of travel vloggers also. It’s more safe, comfortable and not as lonely ‘cause you get to socialize with them. That’s how Ave started as an independent female traveler then she made friends with them including Martin and the rest is history. 😘 Just continue to do what’s best for you and take life one day at a time. Most of Filipinos knows that Sabah is originaly part of the Philippines but unfortunately😔 i wont chika anymore. Recently the heirs of the land won the case and asked the other side to pay the debt. Its a long long story😔 hope Philippine or the heirs will get what's theirs.

Sabah was, is and forever will be part of the Philippines. A recent ruling by a French court reaffirmed this and awarded $15 billion to the heirs of the Sultan of Sulu, the rightful owners of this part of Borneo, for economic losses against Malaysia.

Sabah is part of the Philippines according to the history, and the Sulu royal family won the case against Malaysia and they need to pay 16B USD for the rental fee of Sabah to the Sulu Royal family
