I'm all about this new "September Boys." And I've never exactly been the biggest fan lyrically for either Slug rapper (of Atmosphere) or Sunspot Jonz (of Living Legends), but interesting enough here, both of their lyrics equally shine here! Featuring an archaic 1968 sample from folk-singer, Melanie Safka called "Close To It All", this is the first single (and only quality track, seriously the rest of the album is complete filler-tracks) off the recently-released "Legend1." And re-mastered by Portland producer mr. nemo (not to be confused with Nemo the fish), this track is just so serene and comforting. In discussing cosmic change relative to each individual in addition to issues like Substance abuse, they managed to capture a vibe here that's eerie-reminscent of Penuckle's "Today" and definitely something that leaves me in marvel.
