What a nice little diesel. Please use a generator to test if it puts out good torque compared to the cheap&ubiquitous round about 7hp 100usd gas engine. Here in Europe (germany) the cheapest single cylinder combustion engine is 89euro on sale and 110-120€ on ebay average for gas power engine. Maybe this little diesel is much cheaper on fuel?

The PTO shaft on mine was .787 , I took the engine apart and turned the crank down to .750 or 3/4 to put on a centrifugal clutch or CVT. When the engine was apart i did away with the governor..... Bad Idea !!! could not regulate engine speed with any degree of control . this engine will RPM to the moon. Returned the governor to stock.
You shouldn't remove the governor off the diesel engine. You can do it with a regular gasoline engine as it have throttle vavle. Diesel dont have one so if you remove it. It run away
Can you show the shaft and measure it? What's in between the fuel pump and tank, just whose or a shut off valve for diesel? Is there a spring loaded governor for constant rpm under "some" load?

I’m seriously considering buying one for my tiller so I don’t have to dick around with a carburetor to make it run the few times out of the year I use it. I wish the horsepower output wasn’t so ambiguous! Is it 6.5hp? 3.0hp? Some side covers say 4.0 on the decal. WTF IS THE HORSEPOWER?!?!? Lol
You can. There was a guy on TH-cam that put one on a go cart and turbocharged it. I can remember the guy’s channel off the top of my head. Looked like a pretty fun/cool little project!

6.5hp means the description/part of the engine came from a gas powered unit those are usually 6,5HP or 7hp all over the world. So a very common error on the box/sticker/description... And for the generator it is normal to get 3 phase 1 socket/3socket 1phase generic China generator with 4800W/50Hz@230V/3Phase400V here all over Europe with 7 horsepower gas powered engine. Cylinder is angled like your diesel.. Extra horses go to heat and sound

Mine came with a cracked crank case and a broken pull start, they are sending me replacement so I took apart the spare for parts, made a video on it.

My maths tell me 2.2kW is about 3hp. Not 6.5...
If the model number denotes capacity, 3hp would seem about right.

The shaft is 20mm which is .787in
The governor is and overspeed governor, the tank goes to the pump then to the injector.

Looks like valve cover upside down if compression release is on inlet valve as is. Plus the valve vapor pipe should direct to air filter to be burned.
This is just a guess on my part but that "3" maybe 3KW, not horsepower. Alot of international companies rate engines in KW's.

Are you going to go directly from the alternator to an inverter with no batteries? Never heard of that.
