Watching this in New Zealand. I think you should try running it on used chip oil etc. Imagine this as a post apocolyptic, mad max vehicle, could you make it run on what's available? I dunno. But this channel is awesome!
Yeah I’ve been thinking of trying some different fuel sources just for fun. I have seen someone running on vegetable oil but they had to heat it to keep it thin enough to flow well. I appreciate it!
I just got a red one. But it looks like the Orange one. I think it had the same weird stickers and has wing nuts on the intake and exhaust. But has a fuel filter that was backwards and a hose from the crank breather to the intake. And has a center bolt valve cover and came in a wooden crate.
I’m thinking that they may have updated the design since I bought the red one years ago and the differences I saw were because of the update and not because the red and orange are actually different.
You would have to look into it but from memory to run a generator you need to have the engine to be able to get to a certain rpm to be able to create the correct frequency something like that but if you do a quick search you'll find your answer
I used sand paper and a file on the first engine but I used a grinder and sandpaper for the second and it went a lot faster. Just have to take a little at a time and measure often.
I have taken the injector apart and had the pump out before but haven’t modified anything. Been trying to figure out how to increase fueling for some nitrous or forced induction.
I messed around with mine and I got a higher fuel pressure by removing 2 of the 3 spacer gaskets between the pump and the front cover, it wasn't a huge increase but it was definitely present.
Mine have been reliable. They just don’t make a ton of for power. I’ve heard a lot of people talk about using them for that just don’t know how much power you’d normally need.
walmart sells gallons rotella oil around $20 , This will make those diesel carts last long time ~ get you some

the soot in the air filter is from you useing the decomp switch to turn it off
That’s completely obvious now that you point it out. I don’t know how I hadn’t connected that before.

9:51 how do you turn it off without pushing the decompression switch?
Would one of these be strong enough to run a 2500 colemann generator head? probably would have to gear it up
Not sure about that specific generator but it’s rated at around 3hp and 6lbs of torque.

What did you use to file the crankshaft down?

You need a little turbo on there
is the mount above the throttle cracked already?
No it’s just a shadow from a casting ridge
have you messed with the fueling systems at all?

Interesting, I’m going to have to try that.
It would be great for a kid, not to fast, but could run all day without burning up a briggs gas 5hp engine
I want one for my mud motor
