I love how knuckles just casually leaves the Master emerald just cause he saw Sonic and Tails. Some guardian
The Master Emerald shines with a very obvious sound effect and glow, Knuckles checks it out briefly before seeing Sonic and Tails fly by, he must assume that they have to do with is as the distance between both events was short

He only leaves it behind because danger is on another island, not on angel island so he doesn’t need to stay and protect if there isn’t much danger around on angel island
The emerald glow must’ve been some sort of message. Only Knuckles knows for sure, but it had to be saying that there was danger afoot and he has to go check it out.
There are some people who will just never stop talking their sh-t about Knuckles -_- Dude doesn't get enough respect.
For those wondering about the music, I think this is actually the same build that was shown at Summer Game Fest, and I have some evidence to support that.
1. Some of the sound effects are missing (ex. the sound effect for entering a Giant Ring, the ring sound effect when breaking a Ring Monitor, etc).
2. Bridge Island Act 1 and 2 use the same theme, even though we know an Act 2 theme exists (heard in the multiplayer trailer).
3. Sometimes when getting hit during a boss the music just...stops. I dunno, that just sounds like something that can only happen with a placeholder song.
I could be proven wrong with some of this, but I just thought these were noteworthy things to mention.

@@game84cube it sounds like bridge island. even the genesis-esque song from the LEGO game sounds miles better than that boss track. It's most certainly a placeholder of some sort.
Anybody following this should know it's placeholder 100%. Act 1 is gonna be the one from Lego thing and Act 2 is from the gamescom trailer, and of course it's fire music. And why wouldn't it be? While Ohtani and Tokoi et al were cooking on Frontiers, we had the dream team Senoue and Lopes as lab partners on Superstars. If you're worried about Senoue for no reason, just look at the collabs him and Lopes have done together.
The Senoue disrespect is insane and basically manufactured, hell some people even hate on Ohtani lol. These guys have a 90% - 95% hit rate and when they miss literally once in Ohtani's case or twice in 20-30 years of making nonstop fire music... I mean I guess they could miss this time, but I'm not worried coz I'm not pessimistic for no reason. Literally an OG VGM legend is working with the absolute freshest of young blood to concoct likely a better track than Mania's. And the idea that some people won't even accept the possibility that Superstars will have a better track than Mania... "no, it must be bad because Senoue's synths are scary." What else do I call you but a hater who wants it to be bad?
But if you're actually worried in good faith about the music; you're a doofus. Calm down, wait for the damn game to come out, and then what a surprise it's super hot fire and you were worried about the MUSIC in a SONIC GAME being bad for no reason lol

Did the Master Island tell Knuckles something? That's major Sonic X vibes right there. Kinda interesting ngl.
The Master Emerald told Knuckles things in SA1, like when it showed him that the remaining shards were on the Egg Carrier.

I love that they used the Master Emerald altar from SA1 instead of making a 3D version of the one in S3K
It’s so that he’s not guarding the emerald underground and so the super emeralds aren’t there cus if they were people would be crying hyper sonic. Hyper sonics cool but it just completely undermines supersonic so there no point to hypersonic being there. I bet they just wanted to avoid confusion

I really hope this means that SA 1 and classic sonic are in the same timeline again. Really never liked the change of dimesons. (also why are there pine trees at the alter? Angel island is a tropical zone. I guess maybe it changes every so often.

It is very refreshing to see someone play the demo who knows how to ROLL when going downhill.

Let's face it, Knuckles is the best and only chracter you need. He can glide over sections, climb up places that would have Sonic stumped and can break through walls for alternate paths.

It seemed like at the time they didn't know how to implement classic style into modern hardware.

The Emerald glowed and made a sound, something that usually means the Master Emerald is saying something to Knuckles (when you're around it your entire life you probably just pick up on what it all means), same happened in Adventure when it showed Knuckles where the remaining shards were
Knuckles deserves better than watching the master emerald sonic tails amy are family to him now
Could the Altar design at the start be a way to bridge the classic era with Sonic Adventure?
They probably used that design to show SA1 is once again the same timeline as the classic games (which makes sense, SA1's story was foreshadowed quite a bit in the manuals of Sonic 2 and 3)

I've played the original Sonic The Hedgehog (1991) at the Málaga Videogame Museum (OXO). I can't wait to play this game as Amy and make several copies of her with the new Avatar power.

If I had to guess where it’ll rank among the classic games, probably 3rd behind 3 and Mania, but we have to wait to see

The soundtrack sounds like a mix bag. Some tracks sound good or even great, but other sound like Sonic 4-tier.
I think they’re unfinished. Hope to god they’re unfinished but given this series this is probably the end result.
I'm pretty sure the boss themes are old sonic 4 beta tracks because they just stop in the middle of the speed jungle boss. Pretty sure they are placeholders. As for the level select theme? Might be unfinished.
These levels dont look as bad for singleplayer as i was expecting, given the emphasis on the multiplayer.
Glad they're bringing back the "modern" badnik designs from Colors and Generations.

Now thatd they’ve remastered the originals and more. They need to do another sonic advanced remaster/remake. Those graphics and effects for the gba were raw. Imagine that feel now but newer. And sonic frontiers was successfull, so why not pump out more sonic games

It looks like there’s so many gimmicks you barely get to use the actual physics, that’s slightly concerning. Hopefully later levels improve on the design.
They’re trying to make this first stage unique and memorable so I have to commend them for that. I can see why you say it’s too gimmicky but the majority of the gimmicks shown here are either optional (like the special rings) or they help you get used to the physics (like those curved slide dash panel things idk what they’re called)

One thing i can't stand for the life of me from classic knuckles gameplay is that annoying recovery land after he glides! Couldn't the developers take note from the 3d games and simply not him stop after every glide!

The music seems to be all over the place... The stage select theme is unfitting (I know it uses the actual genesis soundchip unlike sonic 4, but it still sounds really underwhelming to me), the stage clear theme is recycled from mania, the boss themes sound surprisingly cheap, plus there are odd moments of silence... What's going on? I don't think it's edited, or is it? I'm puzzled and worried...
It's a _pretty_ early build. Expect for LOTS and *LOTS* of changes to be made when the final game is released.

@@playbossthebest936When it comes to video game demos, they are notoriously difficult to do as they essentially need to seperate the demo from the base game. In this case, the game is not yet complete and instead of the hub world interviews have told us about the game there is a regular menu. Other signs that show it is an earlier build is that Bridge Island Zone's Act 2 music, shown in the multiplayer trailer, is not present in Act 2 at all. You're very likely correct on the boss themes, though, they do sound more out-of-place in comparison to a lot of the other music and it also concerns me.

It’s actually not a lightning shield, just a magnet that can be stacked with the shield, sort of like Sonic Dash
