Thank you Marina, you are 100% on point. I would like to add; 1. I always differentiate my needs from my wants, and prioritize the needs. Same for all my dependents (8 people), when they make requests, we identify the needs, and focus on those (the wants may come later... probably as spoils). 2. I try to avoid urgent expenses. I plan for everything way ahead of time to accommodate my financial budget every month. Even my husband knows that nothing can shake my budget except an emergency that affects life. No impulse buying! 3. Based on my earnings, I map out an amount that must be saved yearly and that becomes my goal. No matter what I do, that goal is always met at the end of November every year, which makes December a bit flexible for all of us to enjoy. These are additional tips I use to survive the harsh economy.😊
Oh yea 100% spot on sis. You see that school supplies own, I used to loose money before but for this new school year, I decided to salvage some of school supplies they brought back home in June and kept it for them this new school year and I saved a few dollar. All those unnecessary subscriptions, even Amazon prime I cancel and resubscribe when I need to shop cos I have gone for months without ordering anything from Amazon but kept paying $9 every month to waste. Thanks for bringing this up sis, bless you
I had one subscription that auto renewed for 3 months. Three whole months, i almost cried. I have cleaned up my subscription list. I like the Nigerian movies on Amazon prime that is why i haven't let it go yet.
Always look at your pantry before grocery shopping. Marina this bulk purchase of tomatoes and shepherd pepper is the best. Started it about 5 years ago and I have saved money. 2024 is the year of extra prudence. Facebook marketplace na my go to. Save money and make money. Thanks dear Marina. Video is a timely reminder.
God bless you Marina for this. It is so timely with the way inflation is soaring. For my pantry & freezer, I do a first in, first out. Then I have a periodic timetable of organizing them. It takes some time but I am always happy after it’s done, because it saves me from wastage(expiration, spoilage or freezer burn)
@@MARINAESIRI I date everything going into the freezer & pantry, so I go by date. For the freezer, new or fresh items go under while old ones are above . That helps the first in, first out rule I use.
This is a good one @oyeronkeonigbinde8687 I just started dating my meat portioning so I know what I have in there and how long I’ve had it. Cos sometimes beef bone be looking like all flesh when frozen😊. I will try that first in first out method. Thanks sis
In Jamaica, we call it a partner. Friends come together and pay a set amount every week or month, depending on what's agreed on. One trustworthy person is deemed the banker and the money is disbursed according to the prearranged schedule. lt works! I need to rejoin one...thanks❤
Osusu is hands down a lifesaver. I found this group of 12 people that contribute 1 grand each, that's 12 grand a year. I wish I knew this group even 7 years ago, it would have boosted my savings game and it keeps one disciplined/responsible for sure (you can't just collect your money and take off, you're still responsible for paying others). Opening a TFSA account is also helpful, the money gets deducted automatically bi-weekly or monthly from your account and it's tax free. One can save as little as $100 to max of $500 monthly, it usually depends on the TFSA limit for the year. These are very practical ways to save. The downside is there's no interest with these saving measures but at least you have savings. At all, at all, na im bad pass.🤪
Thanks, Marina for the tips. I have been tracking my expenses using some free apps since 2018. I was more than ashamed when I realized how much I spent on clothes and makeup. Now I track and maintain my budget within my bank app and it's conducive. ❤
Thank you Marina for this video. I am retired nurse who has gone back to am first love art. But I also want do digital art so I can illustrate a book I am writing. But the Standalone Drawing Tablets are expensive. I have been debating with myself for weeks if I want to send the money on it that I may need later. My money is getting tighter all the time.
Susu bought my first car. We brought the Susu tradition from the Caribbean to Canada too! Our Mothers taught us that. The financial analyst says don’t do it it’s a waste of money, however some of us need that method first discipline
My other way is to go thrifting for anything at all. If I do not find them in thrifts (garage sales and markets like that), then I can go find a new version of those. Another way is to learn to DIY things and try to fix or create them before you start looking for better hands. These ways save money too.

Hello, ma'am. Please i have a question different from this video. When i create and express entry pool, can I update my profile as I get more certifications? For example, I just did IELTS but I'm preparing for a French exam which might take a while. Can I get into the pool with my IELTS and update my profile when I have the results from the French exam?

Oh God! I am so inspired. I have no patience for gardening. One day, I will attempt.
@@MARINAESIRI It's fun and therapeutic.
