What an insightful and truthful piece of content Marina. I appreciate you dismissing myths and providing proper guidance for job seekers. This is valuable to everyone exploring better prospects in the job market. This offers a clear and logical explanation of how recruiters mindset operates to secure ideal candidate for their organization. I would love to be a part of physical meet up and get your guidance on Cv building. It will be a great opportunity to learn and meet new people. I hope to meet you soon. Till then keep rocking and thank you for efforts and guidance.
Thank you for sharing all these great tips. I hope many more people get to watch this video. The crazy resume advice I see online makes me worry for people who listen to them. I've gone through a lot of resumes and I get pained when people with great experince from Nigeria are either not selling themselves well or resulting to lying because they were advised to do so. I am signing up as a volunteer for the event you are planning. I would love to support in anyway I can even if it is virtually since I live in Ontario. Thanks again for sharing a recruiter's perspective.
Thanks for sharing, Marina and thanks for debunking the ATS myths as well.. You should absolutely do a sit down with folks in SK a lot of people need it!
Thanks for this, I sincerely appreciate your effort and experience. Please am interested in the round table meeting to review Resume. I really need it. I have been here for 7 months and still job hunting
Thank you for sharing Marina. Also want to ask if Recruiters look at cover letters and if yes, at what point in the process is this done? And yes, I'm in for the Resume review session.
Thanks for this information. I've applied for a dozen of remote jobs which i got a few interview invitations for. But, the interviews were to be held on either MS Teams Chat(not Meeting) or Signal Messenger. This gives me some concerns around potential cyberfraud or scam. Pls, I need your expertise opinion on this mode of interview meetings. Thank you!
Did you verify to make sure the companies are legitimate? Most interviews these days happen on Zoom or Teams so it may not be fraudulent but please do some more diligence to confirm that they are legit. All the best!
Thank you Marina for this helpful tips. Your contents are always insightful. Please for those of us outside of Canada but are looking forward to securing a job in Canada, a virtual meeting will be highly appreciated.
I currently don't have any leads on how to hire people who are not already legally able to work and I would hate to waste your time. I will provide updates if that changes.
Thank you so much for sharing Marina. I have a gap in employment and its been challenging for me to come back. I felt out of sorts with all the "how to get a job" banters on social media. After watching your clip I feel empowered to focus on my focus and not be swayed.
Waoh...God bless you for this information. You never disappoint me on each of your video because they're always informative. I wish to link up with you soon once i find my way to Canada. Thanks for being a positive impact in our generation ma'am ❤
Brilliant idea to have the roundtable to review CVs...Thanks Marina for sharing some really vital cues here...Mwile, from a recruiter's perspective, can having for instance, 12 years of relevant job experience screen one out for a job that only requires 5-7 years of relevant experience?..Welldone and God bless u really kind and delightful sister
General answer, no. 12 years will not disqualify you for a role that needs 7years. It will then depend on how you present your work experience. If all the 12 years is in managerial roles for instance and you are applying for a non managerial role, you would need to tweak what you have done to sound like what you are applying for. if you dont do that, you would be presenting experience that is not directly transferrable to what you are you applying for. That is what disqualifies people.
Thank you very much for this information. Please it will be great to extend the resume review to those of us who are outside Canada but eyeing job opportunities there. This will be most appreciated
What the company looking for Entry Level Administrative Support $14-$16/hour • 5-7 years previous administrative assistance experience at the executive level.
Hello Mrs Marina. Please i need your advise on my course selection for my postgraduate. Please i did HR as my undergraduate. But i have not get the opportunity to work in that field since i completed. Now i want to do my postgraduate but confused if i should do it in same Hr. Are there more opportunity for People with masters in HR in canada . Please help me
There is more emphasis on experience than on education. Even with a masters, you need work experience. You may need to start with an entry level HR role
can you create more of these kinds of content? -- Well, it would be nice to know, as a useful tool, more about how the recruiter thinks when looking at a resume. Thank you, and well done!

The first one will be in person and then there will be follow up virtual offerings depending on how it goes.
Thanks so much for this, Which document format is the most viable for the ATS platforms, PDF or word ?
I advice PDF because the format for Word can become messed up depending on the system.
