Great video! I’ve nicked your idea to use the function 1 button for focus peaking.

You won't regret it! Great camera (Just read up on its autofocus and low light to make sure it's what you need!)

@@rafalcwiok Definitely! Especially the Dial Setting for ISO making it a one step process. So much better than the default ISO button where you normally have to hunt for it or pull away from the EVF

Great information for setting GH5. Thank you for sharing in such an entertaining way. I wonder if you can share your experience with GH5 now almost 6 months later.

Hey Ary! I can still say that I love my GH5 even 6 months after this video. I have added a battery grip to it since, and it holds its own at every shoot! I don't plan on changing cameras anytime soon!

@@rafalcwiok That is a piece of great news. So many are switching to other brands, Sony a7iii in particular, but the lenses cost so much more... Which grip did you buy? Do you use only native Panasonic glass or do you use others with adapters as well? I really appreciate your time to share your experience. Thanks again.

@@AryMir I've used a metabones speedbooster with my camera ever since I got it so I could use EF lenses. No native glass (not yet). For the battery grip, I just bought a third party grip since Panasonic's is $300 sooo no thank you haha

Fantastic tutorial. I'm completely new to the GH5 coming from a Canon I can honestly say this is easiest to navigate and the customization is beyond insane. Could you explain what Fn button settings you would use for specific event content such as weddings (run and gun stuff), and other content such as corporate and interviews? I have the first dial selection (movie mode set to all of your recommended settings from this video). I have C1 set to set to my default shooting mode (24p,4k,8-bit) then I added your recommended settings. Next I have C2 my slow motion profile (60p,4k,8-bit). This would be my wedding profile. Interested in what customs settings you would use for your own custom wedding profile etc. The last one would be dial C3-1 which would be slower-motion profile (FHD,8bit,VFR,120fps) for those buttery smooth shots. Any suggestions you may have for custom work profiles would be great!!

I'm glad you found use out of my video Scott! The custom set up I show in my video is the main one I use for most of my videography. I don't have any different set ups for different scenarios as of yet since I've gotten to used to moving my fingers around to change specific settings. However, I'm open to the idea that if I begin filming a certain type of event more frequently, I'll create a custom set up for that type of event!
