  • Many physicians refrain from approving Cannabis use by patients because they learned nothing about Cannabis in medical school and cannot knowledgeably advise patients about dosage, side effects, mechanism of action, etc. This talk by UCSF oncologist/AIDS specialist Donald Abrams, M.D. to residents at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is an exceptionally clear overview of the medical Cannabis field. Rolando Tringale, MD, invited Dr. Abrams on behalf of the Family Medicine Residency Program. O'Shaughnessy's arranged for videographer Chad Rea to tape the event.

Great video!! A High CBD Strain cannabis tincture has changed my life for the better. After using the tincture I realized I no longer woke up with the thoughts of anxiety. I lived with panic attacks for over 25 years. My life is great! It's still odd and maybe unnerving that the anxiety no longer has a tight grip on my life. I wish all people could find and feel the relief that I have had and continue to have. So, I hope for future legalization of cannabis products and further medical studies of this amazing plant and its health benefits.

anthony dimovski - I have been using a high CBD tincture for over a year now. It has changed my life drastically. I have suffered with anxiety and panic attacks for almost thirty years. I have been on so many different medications since the diagnosis that had so many side effects and so little benefits. All those years I would have panic attacks and go the the ER feeling as if I was about to die. BTW( I'M a nurse) No matter how much I told myself the attacks wouldn't hurt me...my body was a wreck with the fight or flight response and my mind only filled with the "what if " thinking...I couldn't get away from it. I would wake up everyday to feel it there waiting for me....feelings of dread and fear. I smoked pot in my 20's and just gave it up...it made me more nervous than anything. But, over a year ago I learned of the new studies of the different components of cannabis and started studying. I learned that CBD had the ability to calm people in as much that THC has the ability to excite and have hallucinogenic effects. So, I found a company that was willing to trust me and they had a tincture that was rich in CBD and very low in THC. I literally begged and cried out of frustration when they first said.."No, you live in a state where it's not legal yet". They took a chance on me and my life changed about a month or so after I started using the drops.....I am very sensitive to the drops and I only use five drops twice daily. One day I suddenly realized I was feeling great and hadn't had feelings of anxiety for weeks.....well it's over a year now and it's not a cure. But, it has changed my life to the point that I am living comfortably with far less anxiety and have had no trips to the ER in over a year for panic attacks. Life is worth living now. No side effects that I've noticed and I have significantly reduced the amount of meds I was taking. Hopefully to be off completely someday. But, if not? It's ok. All I am saying is it's worth the try...if it doesn't work for you? You've lost nothing...but I have heard from too many people with similar success stories. Anthony, I was housebound and terrified. My life is livable again.

Im sorry to hear about that, but I am glad now that you are doing much better. I obviously do not have anxiety nowhere near that bad and I have been depressed several times in the past, but I found relief when I beat my sugar addiction and went on a grain free diet, adopting a higher fat low carb diet, eliminating gluten. I bought a cbd hemp oil tincture that has 500 mg of cbd in it because I need something for situational anxiety induced insomnia the night before I take the mcat exam( i have bombed the reading portion of the mcat twice due to sleep deprivation and I never ever score that bad on any practice exam). The critical thinking portion of my brain shuts down anytime I get less than 7.5 to 8 hrs of sleep. Benzos disrupt my brain function and ambien puts me in a coma. Meditation helps, but I still have trouble shutting down my brain completely. I saw the weed special on cnn about cbd oil and wanted to give it a try. Im hoping the majority of the cbds in hemp oil and marijuana are the same, well they are supposed to be. I bought it from dixie botanicals on amazon.

anthony dimovski Yeah, I used Dixie products at first and found them to be expensive and very low in CBD. Also, they were unable to substantiate the amount of CBD their products to my satisfaction. It was great for a breath freshener and little else for me. I didn't notice the real change until I started using cannabis infused products. All of the other things you're doing are awesome for reduction in so many ailments. Best wishes!! I hope we all find peace of mind.

Your story sounds so similar to mind except for the fact I havnt been able to get CBD yet. I live in the UK and would love to be able to get hold of some decent stuff. I'm using a high THC oil at the moment to treat Chron's and it's working really well. Only problem for me is that my anxiety is allot worse on the oil so I was hoping to do CBD in the daytime the THC before bed. Just need to get hold of some to try it out.

As a UCSF/Stanford trained MD and postdoctoral research and clinical fellow I strongly recommend the use of CBD derived from organic agricultural grade hemp where it is naturally occuring. The hemp plant is cannabis sativa with less than 0.3% THC and in 2014 the Farm Act - A Federal Hemp Law was enacted that grants CBD from hemp oil to be legal in all 50 states. Charlotte's Web is a signature product with high patient reviews that has been analyzed for CBD content and is a whole plant extract offering the beneficial entourage effect of up to 500 compounds known to be present in cannabis sativa flower and hemp offering potential therapeutic benefits. Hemp oil can be very bitter, thick, black and oily and in high doses can be very sedating. I encourage patients to select hemp oils that are pleasantly flavored like Charlotte's Web mint chocolate and not overpriced!

Dr. Abrams is a medical and scientific pioneer. He has likely saved many lives throughout his decades of practice as a physician and clinician. He is also a great human being, -very cool, calm, collected, clear, concise, professional, and down to earth.

Thank you very much Dr. Abrams. This was the most scientific research I have seen to date on cannabis. I know it's effectiveness for me and I hope for more people like you and me to educate and change the prohibition against cannabis is the United States. Sincerely, Debbie Bohne

what is a good percentage of CBD to use? curerently i use anywhere from 34-56%... i heard that Charlottes webb for seizures is apprx 65% ... i dont like thc as it makes me uneasy and restless and too much mental gymnastics...

very very very subjective. Depends on your symptoms, how your taking it, how it was made what strain it was from etc. In my experience CBD seems to amplify when i add a bit of THC to it.

+Dan Fera dr franker has lots of TH-cam vids on the subject. Get yourself some decent cbd oil. In the uk cbd brothers is a good provider. Don't forget cbd is legal in the states. You should be able to find something online. I know cbd bros is made from cannabis and not hemp. Get yourself a bottle and and have some in the morning and some before bed. You'll need to find the right dosage for you. Good luck :)
