I caught 16-pound bull trout in the Flathead River at the Old Steel Bridge in Kalispell when I was a kid. It was around 1974 if I recall correctly. Actually, the fish caught himself; I had my pole resting in a stick anchored with rocks while I was digging for more worms nearby. My brother reeled him in. Did I catch the fish or did my brother?! That's an ongoing joke in the family.

I won't mention all the suckers and squawfish I caught there, which was more usual!!
