When fish seem to be rising but not taking a dry, I have had good luck switching to a soft hackle. Try greasing the leader to about 5-6" above the fly. Keeps it in the surface film. Getting above the fish and swinging to them works best for me.
Great video man!! And, if I can say it, at least you DO look at the LENS of the camera and not "over there" at the viewfinder like so many others do!! That said, how is access on the N Fork?! I'm a St Joe guy myself but did fish that river in pieces back in the '90's before it and Cd'A got "discovered" and now there's SO many transplants buying up the property and denying access!!
Great camera work my friend, love seen local anglers tearing it up out here. I hope you keep making these videos, hard to find good ones. Hope to see you on the river one day.
@@samuraifisherman5570 only those who know the river know the spot and area. Your secrets safe with me buddy. The only reason I know was because I was to determined to know the ins and outs of a river system he knows he is gonna be fishing a lot. Lol
@@samuraifisherman5570 thanks for watching our channel. We have fun with it. I was up in your neck of the woods a few weeks back looking at some property and got a chance to fish this river for a very short period…maybe a few hours. Didn’t have any luck, but like most new areas, it’ll take some time to learn…Perhaps we’ll see each other on the CDA river some day and throw some line together. Until then, Happy Trails brother!
Do you think fishing will still be accessible and good in November or that too late in The fall? Is there a lot of snow that time of year in that region?
Andrew, Thanks for the feedback. I don't think any of the spots I fish are secret and I highly doubt that my little channel with 68 subscribers and 1300 views is having any impact on traffic. With that said if I outed one of your spots I apologize.
@@samuraifisherman5570 I like your vids and don’t own the River. Just some friendly input. Who knows maybe you will have a ton of viewers in no time. A little mystery would be cool.
I totally agree...there is zero reason to chirp about specifics. I can't stand kiss and tell videos. Now there will be a bunch of knobs at every place this guy talked about...dumb
Yes. I always keep thr plastic on till I land the first decent fish. Its a silly superstition. One of these days a fish is going to yank the rod right out of my hand.
If you want to post content fine. Don’t tell people where you’re at. You ruin it for everyone who has spent years learning these streams. They can find their own spots.
I’m a beginner, now addicted to fly fishing and hoping to fish this area soon. Thanks for the tips and a great video👍🏻

Well done! Fish the N-Fork a lot and glad to see you hooking into some nice fish.
You gained a subscriber! I'm really enjoying your stuff. I live in the area too and I love the fishing here.
Great video.
It’s mushroom season now and that area looks like great pine mushroom habitat!

Thanks for watching. I don't have a "fllippy" screen so it's easy to look at the lens. I actually use my reflection to compose.
Great Video! Wasn't a day that wasn't raining on the North Fork this June.

Hey! Love your channel. Your comment means a lot.
I also fish the same holes you have been. Would love to cast a line next to you brother. I love that river
I guess I should do a better job of camouflaging my whereabouts. Lol.

I would have been gunning for those big bull trout!
Careful leaving those rod racks on your truck while you’re out of sight dude!
I have fish the Coeur Alene river for 30 years. Some of the largest trout I’ve ever caught have been a little north fork.
Why would you say this? Do you want more WA apple maggots floating around the river...
Cool vid and some nice fish! How’s the North Fork of the CDA River fish these days?
Whoa! I watch your channel all the time. Thanks for the comment. Nfcda is really good right now.

Looking at thr night time low temps this coming week I think things are going to shut down pretty quick.
Bumblebee camp looks like closed this year?
I'm not 100% sure. Haven't been up that way since spring.
Maybe less specifics on locations...otherwise expect those spots to get hammered hard.

Thanks for watching. I checked out your channel. We obviously fish all the same places. Sorry to hit so close to home.
