The big problem with modded levels is they look un natural. There's too much open space and lots of set pieces are very unconventional. I know what I just described is in a few level in the game, but they fit better since everything is so compact. In this levels case some areas are much bigger than they need to be, like the tunnel. Still this level looks amazing either way.
When it comes to linear levels, a huge level hinders player's orientation. The idea is to have a level with a proportional area to the character the player is using and its movements

This looks great! They did a really good job of keeping the aesthetics of the original sonic adventure stage with places being instantly recognisable, while still changing it up to implement some of the newer mechanics!

I'd say a lot of today's Sonic levels are easier than this. The entirely of Geneartions apart from maybe Planet Wisp. Just think of it as one of the earlier levels perhaps.
Think about how much money could have been made for Sega if they'd done this and released more stages as DLC. And we would have gladly bought them but nope, they had to be dumb and stupid and drop the game practically on release day. How I wish they would have taken a page from one of these other developers and kept the game's support going for another year or two.

Really? I think Generations has great replay value just from all the alternate pathways you can find and techniques you can use to beat your old times, without any chao gardens. I think that they're just a big distraction, really.

This is a really good classic emerald coast level minus the graphic glitches but yeah but the one part I don't like is the music I like classic emerald coast in generations 3ds better
actually its a dreamcast era stage, and there is no specific form of gameplay for the dreamcast era, anyways, im just saying that's like saying, ugh, in sonic 06 there was no boost, why does sonic use boost in crisis city.
I like the stage i just think the modern one is just not that good due to the fact the maker added things in that stage that wasnt in sadx like the rails

I think the size increase was to accommodate the boost gameplay. Many Generations level mods do this.

I really REALLY love how the original Station Square map is added in the background. Adds more depth and imagination to what was infront of the city.

I was so fucking happy when I saw the entire Station Square downtown area at the beginning of Classic's stage.
The whale part is there, but the guy doing the walkthrough took a different path that made him go past that.
