Thanks! I’m pretty sure the dirt is where it belongs! It’s funny, when I was calling Ducati dealerships to secure a Fasthouse, I had a salesperson laugh at me saying nobody took their Desert Sled off road. I guess I’m nobody!
Nothing wrong with cheap upgrades that are actually functional, I brought my sled used with all kinds expensive upgrade already installed, but some is just down right over priced and serve no purpose, some I actually installed the stock parts back on, like the Ducabike fuel cap which needs a separate cheap looking key to open, Evotech skid plate, I feel the stock plate actually has more coverage, and the Evotech tail tidy, it provide no mud coverage at all, Evotech handgaurd that looks like it has a weak point when crash
@@jonchaochao4567 exactly! I really don’t have a problem spending more when there is an actual increase in value, like the ACD Racing skid plate was well worth the cost because of the robust coverage it provides, but the hand guards and my homemade rear fender works brilliant, and nobody can tell unless you touch it that it was cheap.
Love the video and thanks to you, I'm going to fix my brake switch this winter. I just got back from a 2870 mile trip on my '21 Sled, I could have used that seat cover for sure! Haha.
Beautiful bike I have a night shift , not sure how I feel about cheap and home made mods that you made to a very amazing Italian machine but looks great !!
It was much easier than you might think. Just buy a nice big plant from a nursery (for the pot), and make a cardboard template before cutting the plastic and you should be able to get 2-3 cutouts from a big enough pot. Good luck!
Hahaha, I have thought about it but honestly I really don’t do much highway riding where I am sitting at a consistent speed for a period of time. If a throttle lock company wants to sponsor me by sending me product to try I would be happy to!
Hi i watched your video and i ordered same skid plate from acdracingusa and i used your code. It’s been almost a month but they still didn’t send the product or send me any email. And i wonder how long did you take till you get the skid plate from acdracingusa? From South korea
I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t work for the company so I can’t speak to their delivery timeframes, but I imagine it takes awhile to ship to South Korea. I would contact their customer support to see if they have an update for you. I’m sorry you have been waiting, but I can tell you the skid plate is worth the wait. You will love it.
I have the same bike and wanted to put heated grips. I knew that Ducati was going to charge me so I decided to just have them do my oil change and when they tried to charge me the 75 to $80 activation fee I explained that they're basically charging me $75 to $80 to click one button (enable) due to the fact that they were already connecting my ECU to their computer as part of their normal service protocol for simple oil changes. They didn't charge me. 75 to $80 for the heated grip activation is ridiculous as they literally are clicking one button. This should be activated from the factory anyway! On another note I bought those same foot pegs (JRG) and I can't understand how you got those to fit. The mounting flange that sticks out lines up with the mounting flanges that the stock foot Pegs sit in. Mine is a 2018 so I'm not sure if there's a slight different in the width of the foot Peg mounting flange.
I should have fought for it a bit more, as I also did had mine activated with a regular service/oil change. I hope folks that are thinking of doing this mod see your comment so they can make the same argument. As far as the footpegs, I hope I didn’t mislead you to buy them with my video! I got them for our TW200 but my wife didn’t like them. I had to take my cutoff wheel and grind them down on each side, as well as flatten the angled end a little in order for them to fit the Ducati. I probably weakened them but so far they have held up - I bring my oem pegs with me in my bag any time I go off road just in case.
@@ADHDiy_Guy No you're good on the foot pegs! I see how you modded them but the ones they sent me simply wouldn't. I know how to weld and modded the rear brake pedal so i'll probably just do the same to the stock pegs.
Does anyone know if the black Fasthouse front/rear fenders fit the 2019 sled? (I hate the white ones) they look the same on the Ducati parts page.. just wanna check as they charge a 40% restock fee...!
There should be no reason I can see for them to be different. I have not compared them side by side, but it should be the same. I feel like a cheaper option would be to have the front fender wrapped with a black vinyl wrap instead of buying one direct from Ducati though. Good luck!
thanks for the reply, here in England it was cheaper to buy them from Ducati than get them wrapped actually! Btw They do fit! So I’m working my way through your other mods now👍🏼
Not yet, but when I get to the point where those are due I might muster up the confidence to do that myself, and can make a video of it. I haven’t put many miles on the Ducati this year because we have been in big projects mode for a property we purchased, so I’m still not there yet to need the timing belts.
Upsetting Ducati cancelled this model more likely to promote the other desertX . I love this bike. Great job on the mods.
Nice breakdown and fun to see a fasthouse on dirt!

Nice work! Way more functional. Looks great apart from the exhaust 😂
I want to do the rear Fender that you did! Thanks for sharing

thank you for the video, you should consider a throttle lock and show us how you did it.

Have you changed the timing belts on your Desert Sled by yourself? If so, a video would be greatly appreciated!

@@ADHDiy_Guy Gotcha'. The cam belts are supposed to be replaced every 5 years. Congratulations on your property purchase!
