      Love this thank you...quick question...why did you choose a Google doc, and not a Google slide for this project?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom

      Yes, I can definitely do that. Thanks for the suggestion!

      No real reason except that I use Google Docs when assigned writing assignments, and some of these choice boards are embedded in research projects that involve more writing. But you could also make one with Google Slides!

    I just watched how to create a Google Choice Board and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your making this tutorial available to the public. I'm pursuing my M.Ed. after being out of school for several years and technology has changed SO MUCH. I've been completely overwhelmed as to how I will create interactive, digital based lessons for my students when I have NO IDEA how to use technology myself! This is wonderful! I loved the pace of the video, too. You spoke slowly enough that I could track where you were going with the mouse so I could see how to create this wonderful tool. God bless you, Mr. Kary!

    Loving the step by step for choice boards! I have a level 3 autistic nonverbal delayed toddler. I have been trying to find a way to offer choice for meals at home as well as digital schedule to help navigate and reduce meltdowns. He has a communication iPad, but removing buttons of food items I don’t have in stock at home isn’t the easiest from day to day and it’s portable. I’ve bought a wall mounted interactive screen for routine purpose. Any ideas on how to make food choices using google docs? It doesn’t necessarily need to ”speak” the selection, but it would be nice if it did. I’m mediocre in tech-savvy. Tips and tricks would be appreciated!
    Signed, the frazzled mom

    Thanks for your helpful videos. How do you have students turn in their choice? Just wondering because if there are say 6 choices and say 32 students per period turning different things in from different sites, how do you manage?

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're welcome! It depends on the assignment. If they are doing work on different projects and need to submit them you can create a Padlet and have them post links to their final projects there. Another option would be to post their links on a Google Doc you share, or just via Google Classroom by uploading files.

    This was very helpful. I am trying to create a matching game /Anticipation activity of Unsung Women of the Civil Rights Movements. I want to offer a key. Or I'd love to have the description of the person in some cells and the link to their significance. Any ideas would be helpful to make this opening activity work online.

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might want to use Google Slides and then set them up as drag and drop activities (if you search you'll find lots of videos about how to do this). Hope you found a solution!

    I like your idea of a choice board, especially for students who need a little direction. For my advanced students I give them, nearly, carte blanche with just a few caveats, such as appropriateness and a rating of PG-13. When students are given a direction to choose, such as a myth and have the students reverse gender roles, medicine in ancient Rome or Greece or medical instruments, or the names of the elements and compounds and students are allowed to present their information in a style or manner that they want to, it allows them to be creative. When given a "push" they take more interest in their assignment. I have had students write a song, make a movie, or research something specific to their career choice.
    I don't like to limit my students; I want them to ponder the possibilities, all of course within norms permissible in the high school setting.

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love all of that, Riduan! I agree completely and it sounds like you give your students a lot of room to be creative while staying within the bounds of the assignment.

    How do you give access to the links of Google Docs that linked to the pictures? When my students click on them, they get "request access"

    • @NewEdTechClassroom
      @NewEdTechClassroom  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need to change the 'share' settings for anything linked and shared from Google Docs or Google Drive and set it to 'anyone with the link can view'
