Hi Ben. I love you videos. What do you think of the Lume Cube Studio Panel light kits? They look interesting, but will be about $350 for a two light setup. Thoughts?
I was planning on getting a lighting kit with 2 lights that was a little more expensive, (but the lights were worse) but i think you made me change my mind to the mount dog one. Thanks for the great quality and very informative video!
I bought the mountdog lighting kit in your video. A little more expensive in Canada. Best purchase I made for continuous lighting. I want another one. when i set it up, some people said.. What..? Thats really amazing. Ive seen other softbox kits with continous lights but they dont have the same kind of controls switching from warm to cold and mix. versatile.
Yes! An update. I was looking for this video a month ago. I ended up buying the lume cube for work. I needed something small and easy to travel with. I may be starting a TH-cam channel in the future. I will definitely be coming back to this video.
I absolutely love your videos, Ben! Straight to the point, easy to understand, and high-quality. The Moundog Softbox sounds like a perfect fit for me. I love that it comes with everything you need and is more affordable compared to more professional lights.
I went with the G2 POCKET RBG. I primarily bought it because I am relatively new TH-cam with a low budget. I didn't want to go to the cheapest option(Ulanzi VL49) because it doesn't come with a stand and that it is not as powerful as the G2. The other choice was the Mountdog Light. It was ruled out because all my shooting is going to be done on a single table with green screen in the background. I would definitely recommend everyone to get a G2 as it is seemingly the best choice for someone who can only afford one light for now.
Hey man, late reply but do you use this as your key light? I’m trying to find a quality key light that will work for me as I film in a small space? Glad the light works for you👍🏻
I bought a box light... with no settings. And then ordered that bulb and now I don't have to buy another box light. The bulb turns it into a dimmable light. Very cool! I recommend this box light.
Hey, thank you for these lighting videos Ben! I just purchased the Ulanzi from your Amazon and I’m ready to step up my video quality. Keep up the great work!
Hey Ben, I wanted to ask your recommendation for a hair/rim light? I’m doing a CEO message video with standard 3-point LIGHTING. Aputure 120D for key, aputure 200x for fill but struggling for the hair light, what size, strength, modifier etc? Thanks
I do have the mount dog soft box lights , I actually have 3 for the cost of $150. I don't have the remote because I got mine before these ones came out but I use them every time till this day. Also who doesn't love a compact RGB light
I just got the G2 rgb thru your link last week. Want it for background color. I got the mountdog light a while back. I like it as well. Thanks for the informative videos Ben!
Hello Ben, interesting video mate. Please, how diffused is the Ulanzi light please? (Not sure if that is the right phrase?) You see I need Dramatic shadow for my stop-motion shorts. So the best lights I have found have been single LED torches, which are EVERYWHERE when you aren't trying to find them. Thank you 👍🏻🇬🇧
If you need a key light (to light yourself) I'd do this: amzn.to/3UqP8e3 If you are looking to light your background in color I'd do this: amzn.to/3WAZiuw
Ben never fails to inform his subs 👌 Ben could you do a video on sprucing up natural lighting? (I have big floor to ceiling windows that are hard to avoid)
This video is very helpful. I just found your channel now as im searching for the best budget light for my TH-cam channel. Please can you advice between the Mountdog softbox light and Neewer 700w soft box which is better. The Neewer is currently on sale in my country now and it sells for about the same amount as the Mountdog. So I'm a bit confused, please which would you recommend? Thanks in advance
Late to the party but beter late than never! Haha! I purchased absolutely everything mentioned in this video and wanted to ask, for the 5 in 1 reflectors… how would i get the diffuser to stay on the soft box without holding it up?
Great video. Are you using two Mountdog lights in the video? It looks like both sides of your face are well lit, but there is no glare in your eyeglasses.
Can you make a video focusing not only in stand in front of a camera, but behind a drum set?🥁 For example: Light up a drum set that all its background are black curtains all around. How to have light between each parts (toms, snare, bass drum) to make them stand one another without over-brighten and ruin the cinematographic atmosphere?
This was so helpful!! I've been creating videos on youtube for a while but looking to improve my video quality and make it look more professional. These lights are in my budget so definitely going to look into these! 🤩
Do you have a recommendation for light diffusion for the ULANZI light when I leave it on-camera? I want to use it for a vlogging light but don't want it to be too harsh! Thanks :)
Thank you, Ben!! 2 questions? - Witch Ulanzi model do you recomend for back or hair light: VL49, L2 Cute Lite or L2 COB RGB? - Did you try Ulanzi ilight when you shot this video (or after that)?
I like the VL49, its small, budget friendly and fairly strong considering the size and price. I tried it before making this video to ensure I actually liked it☺️
Thanks for this! Was just about to check out with the similar Aperture mini RGB when I discovered your videos (which are wonderful!). Any thoughts on that vs the G2 pocket?
WOW I have 3 of these VL49, How the hell did you manage to get Some lighting Effect? I can only switch between RGB and Regular Light. No matter where I look, I can't find anyone else describing hot to go into this mod. You seems to be the only one who got this... Thank you
Hey Ben, have one softbox light that is not dimmable and was curious about getting the G2 as my keylight. Would that be possible? My setup is on a singel table with a green screen in the background
You could do that but I’d pair it with some diffusion (the inside of a 5 in 1 reflector would work well) to create a softer light. Or you could check out this softbox that is dimmable and color temp adjustable: amzn.to/3WbLtC8
I try to get the Mountdog Softbox but it is "currently unavailable". What to get instead in the same price range or where to get it from (in central europe)? (Planning to use as key light and fill light.)
