  • Almost every dental hygienist has experienced it in some form-burnout. Maybe you're feeling drained every day from being disrespected at work, watching patient after patient turn down life-saving interventions, working with subpar equipment, or experiencing occupational pain.
In this video, Dr. David Rice of ‪@igniteDDS‬ and Katrina M. Sanders, MEd, BSDH, RDH, RF, talk about why this happens and how dentists and hygienists can come together to create a healthier workplace for everyone in dentistry.

20 year hygienist. Actively looking for something else. I was at a sandwich shop the other day, and they had a now hiring sign... and I thought about making sandwiches and never looking back

It’s exhausting and draining work, and not enough people understand this. Women are also EXPECTED to be over giving and not ask for pay increases also. Office bullying is real and to have a boss ignoring it is also devastating and demoralizing.

Sooooo true! I’m beyond burned out 🔥 I was thinking the same thing! You have an assistant! It’s a different dynamic. I don’t get any PTO, so I put more pressure on myself to’show up’ even when I don’t feel mentally able to work…

That's really hard. 💔 Dental hygienists are not human scaling machines!
