I remember being so depressed by my mom's breast cancer last year, I used to play this Interpol CD over and over again while waiting in my car for her to come out of the Hospital, now that I'm listening again to this song it gave me the same feelings of those days, it was a hard time but thanks to God she's fine now. To those who are passing a rough time I tell you, dont give up, there's always a way out, it feels good to be depressed sometimes but you cannot be like that for ever, ther are people who needs you, just get up and fight.
Antonio Morataya we had the same experience only that both if my parents got sick this was a very overwhelming time but now i feel that de are finaly coming out of this one
When I was younger, I used to go out with my friend, just to have some chat and smoke a few cigarettes. He liked Interpol, especially this song. We always smoked listening to this, while thinking about life, philosophizing... Eventually, we ended up don't being in touch so much with each other, but two months ago he came to me just to remember the good old days, have some conversation. Two days after that he killed himself. Everytime I listen to this I think about him and the good times that comes and go.
''You look so young, like a daisy in my lazy eye'' that line and the chord progression on the piano are so perfect that they give me shivers each time I listen to it.
Four years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer and was about to undergo a very critical surgery. While waiting in line in the operating room before the anesthesia, I asked the medical student waiting with me to play this song. The idea of this song being the last thing I heard felt very meaningful. Every time I listen to it, it reminds me of those times.
I will see them live for the first time in my life and trying to listen to their songs to remember the lyrics is... kind of hard. I didn’t want to remember how hard it was when these songs came to my life. But I will enjoy them live and maybe I will find a new meaning to them. :(:

I used to think that school would last forever, I was happy, I had friends and I liked a girl and think that she also liked me. Now I finished school and my life changed but not in a good way. I'm miserable, I feel lonely and lost. I wish i talked to that girl, I wish I enjoyed every moment. Sadly i didn't and now I'm paying the consequences... In this comment section i read a lot of people who say that this song reminds them hard times and so but for me is different. This song reminds me how happy I was, reminds me good times. Everyone who read this please enjoy every moment with your friends, don't wait for something to happen just make it happen. Do it before it's too late.

my boyfriend showed me this song like a week ago and i liked it when i first listened to it, and i searched it again to listen to it tonight and started bawling my eyes out. he's sleeping and won't answer his phone since about 6 or 7 pm and i miss him so much even though i saw him today. interpol makes u feel things with their music
It’s 1:14 at night, and I needed a dose of Interpol chemistry. The guitar at 2:50 still rips through my heart like it did when I heard it back in the days of its release. Interpol makes me feel melancholic and happy at the same time,it’s hard to describe it.I’m suffering from depression for years ,but somehow this cheers me up. What a sick bastard I am😂
There is some mysterious, attractive beauty hidden in this song. I've been listening to it for a week now and I can't calm down. And this video... seems to be simple, but the more I watch, the more it fascinates. Bonds of these particles form and break. And so on in a circle. Hypnotically. In general, I am very glad that I discovered Interpol. They are amazing!

Weird longing/nostalgic feeling over this song. It used to be everywhere in MTV BR at the time it was released. I never was into the band but this song always reminds me that time and makes me think about what kind of adult i'm becoming while i work and fail and worry and laugh and go through all of this.

I remember liking a girl at my highschool, and listening this song thinking about her a lot. She was a freshman and I was Senior, she used to chat with me and flirt with me, but I've just missed my chances with her, when I tried it was too late because she liked someone else, I stole a kiss from her, it was a beautiful moment. I've always struggled with Interpol, one of those very few bands of which I just like parts or aspects of their songs and feel something is always missing from the whole. That was until hearing this song. It's a masterpiece and I wanna sift deeper through their offerings.
I really get inspired by these types of comments: somebody stating that they starting listening differently to music they have already heard and re-evaluating their opinions due to whatever reason. I just find this cool and inspires me to do the same.

Apparently we do attract that of how we feel inside. First time hearing this song and sure enough feeling so low, no energy and alone. Can't get over the passing of my friend, I'm heartbroken.
I was in a horrible relationship last year, I'm so glad I got out. I used to listen to a lot of interpol when I walked over to her house, listening to this made me feel free as I walked. It's cathartic listening to this again, feels good to detach this music from those awful memories. I should've prioritized my friends over her, it felt like a prison. Thanks interpol for helping feel better during those times.
I usually like faster paced songs, but this song is so perfectly paced for this kind of relaxing yet intimate feeling. the lyrics are depressing yet this song calms me to the core and shakes me in the end. it presents sadness in such a beautiful way i want to cry.
The quarantine days have been shit, full of introspection, I thank you for such good songs, I have loved knowing them in depth, thank you therefore, for filling the voids that have no description, for giving me life, again.
2021… im here listening again to this song… more than 10 years ago I was still back home in Brazil… with friends driving around and listening to this song without any worry… without any preoccupation! Life was easier and less scary. There were parties and fun… and music… friends… it was more than 10 years ago. This song was with me on the bad and good days… yeah, there were bad days… so many of them… but here I am still… and every time I listen to it… I remember back home…. And those days in the sun, for sure bring tears to my eyes.
I heard them for the first time last saturday with my gf in a rock festival. And we thought where the fuck we were these years. Why we have never listened it before? They're so good. I loved their performance. Greetings from Peru I hope you come back soon.
Just excellent, both music and lyrics. I never get tired of it. Interpretation of the lyrics is up to each one for themselves, but I see him trying to control his addiction and the motivation to stop he finds in the young person. Himself? Girlfriend? Child? Heartbreaking...
I am under the influence of the drug mentioned in the song and even though I still love it live by the lines this song touches me deeply. I have listened to it the first time during my teenage youth withouth knowing what it trully meant and now I know it personnally, since I've lost a few friends because of it. Well I wish you all that have been touched by this song all over the years the best during this dificult times.
i have just realized that this song is about drugs. i always thought it was about being depressive and distant. kinda give me a different point of view. thanks man.
@@grikedi2887 I mean a literal lyric is "I've lived my life in cocaine, just a rage and three kinds of yes" Pretty apt description, songs depressing because doing alot of coke is pretty depressing outside of doing the lines.
this song makes me think about all the chaos provoked by my decisions on how to get rid of the tensions of my anxiety. days ago I read things about fractals, and that no matter how far their field of vision goes, the pattern will be the same on all scales.
After all those years listening to this song, I am still not able to keep myself from not to cry like a new born baby. They’ve managed to put the right words over my inner feelings like no one else has ever done before! Stay safe everyone
I didn't know this video exist! I usually play 'Wrecking Ball' to see all the visualisations, on iTunes and this is really close to that but official and with another song. Loved it!!

I failed a chemistry exam today and when decided to go listen to some music, it was on one of my Spotify mixes. Crazy how the universe works Update: Took a new test, got an 85. My chemistry is well rested :)
For years i was a fucked up junkie with me friends all month round and what a time man. But that day in the week i kept myself sober.... partly 'cause of this song.

Anyone else hears after 0:55 "The pixies - Where is my mind"?
Jay Mckay was just about to say that :D
@@savanner.6525 lol :D cool
True 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Jay Mckay yess pixies sound
Thanks
My favorite band, from Iran❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I usually like faster paced songs, but this song is so perfectly paced for this kind of relaxing yet intimate feeling. the lyrics are depressing yet this song calms me to the core and shakes me in the end. it presents sadness in such a beautiful way i want to cry.
11 years and still can't get this song outta my mind when the feel comes...
Greetings from Peru I hope you come back soon.
we broke up and interpol punch hard these days...
@@frankevegas Interpol would never let you down though. You are in the right spot my friend.
that's a great reason so :) good to know somebody out there enjoy this kind of music, not just me
This song isn't in breaking bad because the world can't be perfect
i was just think about it
this song fits perfectly in breaking bad
Awesome track
O shit! Their songs take my soul.
Well I wish you all that have been touched by this song all over the years the best during this dificult times.
i have just realized that this song is about drugs. i always thought it was about being depressive and distant. kinda give me a different point of view. thanks man.
@@grikedi2887 I mean a literal lyric is "I've lived my life in cocaine, just a rage and three kinds of yes"
Pretty apt description, songs depressing because doing alot of coke is pretty depressing outside of doing the lines.
this song makes me think about all the chaos provoked by my decisions on how to get rid of the tensions of my anxiety. days ago I read things about fractals, and that no matter how far their field of vision goes, the pattern will be the same on all scales.
this album is perfect
The True is that I'm very grateful of finding my sound. Are countless the times that I have dropped tears with this song!
Amo este track, saludos desde Cancún México... Que belleza de canción damas y caballeros.
I love this song so much! ❤️
This is just awesome, perfect, I don't have words for this...
The main riff here is just so epic.
This song will forever remind me of my travel to Australia of how much i left behind and how much i lost on the way
After all those years listening to this song, I am still not able to keep myself from not to cry like a new born baby.
They’ve managed to put the right words over my inner feelings like no one else has ever done before!
Stay safe everyone
Timeless. Been listening to this since forever and still am.
I didn't know this video exist! I usually play 'Wrecking Ball' to see all the visualisations, on iTunes and this is really close to that but official and with another song. Loved it!!
This song always makes me think of when mtv was great, i remember listening to this in the morning before going to school, fell in love with interpol in the same second
MTV was never good.
I've been living under a rock, to have not heard this. Gotta get out more. Reminds me of 'Where is my Mind' by the Pixies.
Same here, i thought
Bob Smith Julián plenti is fan of pixies
the riff tht starts at roughly 1 minute
Yea thought the same
Bob Smith exactly! Same
this is the pinnacle of all music
Not Berlioz or Beethoven?
I failed a chemistry exam today and when decided to go listen to some music, it was on one of my Spotify mixes. Crazy how the universe works
Update: Took a new test, got an 85. My chemistry is well rested :)
gotta rest your chemistry
@@GbengaAmedrovi gonna take another chemistry test tomorrow, hoping i'll succeed this time lol
@@seila-nf6pr Good Luck!
Update: took the test, i think it went well, I needed a 72. Waiting for the result
This song reminds me North Dakota and New Jersey.. it reminds me the cold of U.S, I love it !!!
Saw them do it live on Friday and damn was it good!!
Perfect ! The best feelings for
tonight
Excelentes liricas, ritmo soberbio e interpretación magistral. Perfecta.
A musica é viciante.
This song makes me feel so old... I knew somebody who looks so young in my eyes...
One of the best songs about addiction
Indeed
I love interpol
Saludos desde México ✌️❤️🌿🍃🌱❤️❤️
INTERPOL ES LA RAJAAAAAA
For years i was a fucked up junkie with me friends all month round and what a time man. But that day in the week i kept myself sober.... partly 'cause of this song.
I'm seeing them live today!!! I'm so excited!!!!! :)
Banger and yet emotional in a way, lil where is my mind, lil rocky and rolling, love it! :)
I'm gonna remember this as the song that made me fall in love with Interpol
I feel like I can't leave the video until it ends, it's captivating and soooo good. It would be outrageous not to listen it completely
