I remember being so depressed by my mom's breast cancer last year, I used to play this Interpol CD over and over again while waiting in my car for her to come out of the Hospital, now that I'm listening again to this song it gave me the same feelings of those days, it was a hard time but thanks to God she's fine now. To those who are passing a rough time I tell you, dont give up, there's always a way out, it feels good to be depressed sometimes but you cannot be like that for ever, ther are people who needs you, just get up and fight.
Antonio Morataya we had the same experience only that both if my parents got sick this was a very overwhelming time but now i feel that de are finaly coming out of this one

When I was younger, I used to go out with my friend, just to have some chat and smoke a few cigarettes. He liked Interpol, especially this song. We always smoked listening to this, while thinking about life, philosophizing...
Eventually, we ended up don't being in touch so much with each other, but two months ago he came to me just to remember the good old days, have some conversation. Two days after that he killed himself.
Everytime I listen to this I think about him and the good times that comes and go.

Four years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer and was about to undergo a very critical surgery. While waiting in line in the operating room before the anesthesia, I asked the medical student waiting with me to play this song. The idea of this song being the last thing I heard felt very meaningful. Every time I listen to it, it reminds me of those times.

the fact that such a high level band with such artistic music,lyrics and videos only achieved moderate success is very indigestible to me. These guys are right there at the top in aesthetic talent. This is not an exaggeration believe me.

I have never listened to Interpol before. I've been mostly a radiohead, chili peppers etc. fan but Jesus Christ their music is amazing. Their sound is so simple, It's clean definetely will check out more of their stuff

I've always struggled with Interpol, one of those very few bands of which I just like parts or aspects of their songs and feel something is always missing from the whole. That was until hearing this song. It's a masterpiece and I wanna sift deeper through their offerings.
I really get inspired by these types of comments: somebody stating that they starting listening differently to music they have already heard and re-evaluating their opinions due to whatever reason. I just find this cool and inspires me to do the same.
I feel you, happened to me too. And even though I love a lot of their other songs now this one will forever be my favorite.

There is some mysterious, attractive beauty hidden in this song. I've been listening to it for a week now and I can't calm down. And this video... seems to be simple, but the more I watch, the more it fascinates. Bonds of these particles form and break. And so on in a circle. Hypnotically.

It’s 1:14 at night,and I needed a dose of Interpol chemistry. The guitar at 2:50 still rips through my heart like it did when I heard it back in the days of its release. Interpol makes me feel melancholic and happy at the same time,it’s hard to describe it.I’m suffering from depression for years ,but somehow this cheers me up. What a sick bastard I am😂

I usually like faster paced songs, but this song is so perfectly paced for this kind of relaxing yet intimate feeling. the lyrics are depressing yet this song calms me to the core and shakes me in the end. it presents sadness in such a beautiful way i want to cry.

Weird longing/nostalgic feeling over this song. It used to be everywhere in MTV BR at the time it was released. I never was into the band but this song always reminds me that time and makes me think about what kind of adult i'm becoming while i work and fail and worry and laugh and go through all of this.

I remember liking a girl at my highschool, and listening this song thinking about her a lot.
She was a freshman and I was Senior, she used to chat with me and flirt with me, but I've just missed my chances with her, when I tried it was too late because she liked someone else, I stole a kiss from her, it was a beautiful moment.
I was not living a good life back then, bad friendships, relationships, jobs, bad family and so on, and the fact that she was "So young, so sweet so surprised" hold me back.

2021… im here listening again to this song… more than 10 years ago I was still back home in Brazil… with friends driving around and listening to this song without any worry… without any preoccupation! Life was easier and less scary.
There were parties and fun… and music… friends… it was more than 10 years ago. This song was with me on the bad and good days… yeah, there were bad days… so many of them… but here I am still… and every time I listen to it… I remember back home…. And those days in the sun, for sure bring tears to my eyes.

I was in a horrible relationship last year, I'm so glad I got out. I used to listen to a lot of interpol when I walked over to her house, listening to this made me feel free as I walked. It's cathartic listening to this again, feels good to detach this music from those awful memories. I should've prioritized my friends over her, it felt like a prison. Thanks interpol for helping feel better during those times.

I was on a party recently, and as a young man, there was this girl, i really liked, i mean write-rhymes-type-like, and for a time she seemed to like me back, but i couldn't get it, nor was i brave enough to ask her out. Now she's dating someone else, and i understand that we wouldn't have worked out either way, but that hit me. So instead of having a good time at the party, i went to a separate room, and just sat there, listening to Interpol, it really helped me get through.
Sometimes life just sucks, at least i still have good friends. And understanding people is a fucking torture

I am under the influence of the drug mentioned in the song and even though I still love it live by the lines this song touches me deeply. I have listened to it the first time during my teenage youth withouth knowing what it trully meant and now I know it personnally, since I've lost a few friends because of it.
