No conocía a Placebo, un día llegando a mi casa de la universidad, hace casi ya 20 años la radio estaba encendida en la sala, yo estaba en la cocina preparando mi cena y sonó This Picture. Me jaló como un imán: esa voz, esa melodía, esa tonada... me envolvió. Dejé lo que estaba haciendo y corrí a la sala para subir el volumen y escuchar mejor esa maravillosa canción y esperar a tener suerte para que dijeran quien la cantaba. Desde entonces mi amor por siempre para Placebo y a esta que fue la canción que me hizo descubrirlos. Recuerdos.
Me pasó exactamente lo mismo, una tarde después de la secu, misma canción mismo sentimiento. Ellos estaban por venir a México en ese momento. Tenía 12, ahora 32 y siguen siendo mi banda favorita de la vida.

I always thought of Placebo's songs as romantic......it's Brian's voice and their melodies that make me think about it that way. I know they totally sang about something different back then but i could not get past that thought that it had a romantic message behind it all. English is my second language.....so when i first heard my sweet prince i thought he was singing about some guy lol but then my friend told me what it was about .......I still think they're romantic after all these years......Black Market Music was like a dagger right in my heart....uffff

English is my second language too, but at first placebo seemed like a broken heart songs to me. Only with years I’ve gained that imagine of their songs like romantic ones.

They were back in time. ;) 20/10 years ago
They are, or at least they used to be, like 5 or 10 years ago... They were a big deal. But they also have been an underrated band, mostly because Molko's androgynous appearance and open bisexuality, that always put lots of people off and only the ones who could really and truly appreciate their music remained loyal fans over the years. For others it was kind of a guilty pleasure. For Placebo, it was always about the music. Their lyrics are deeper and more meaningful than those of any band those days, not to say most bands nowadays .
Rodrigo de Mendoza y Pérez I didn't know he was bisexual, I thought he was gay, I always liked him and his voice, and of course the lyrics of their songs (freaking deep), and the intoxicating sounds of their music. I love Placebo.

Used to listen to this over and over on mp3 back in my teen years, love the raw emotion of it. Hits the gut. First heard it in a scene from a dark crime thriller movie called "Outlaw." The ashtray girl is still in my head to this day.

2019 and I think its safe to say I "can't stop growing old" I was 16 when this song came out I'm 32 now, half my lifetime ago how the fuck did that happen? Literally feels like yesterday this video was getting heavy rotation on the rock music channels like Kerrang and MTV2 as it was known back then!
