unreal engine comes with swimming as a default feature for the character, its pretty baffling how most games (made on unreal like this one) entirely ignore it as a movement mode lol
the game does not use the default UE movement component or even default UE animation skeleton. The swimming is doable, but with the scale of the team it is too much manhours that could be spent fixing other problem that the game has
your spot on about the game, i would also ignore any devs in your comments. they flamed you HARD and Nasty in their discord for days when you put this out. but then acted friendly to you here lol
Don't be discouraged, it's only early access pre alpha. By the open beta in 7 years it will be way better and in 17 years on official release date it will actually be playable ^^. Ahhh no wait, they say full release in 12 to 16 months… well if they rename this game to Stickman Hitman…
this seems very much like a hobby where someone uses assets and coding packs and just kinda worked on it for a while a lot of ideas but lacks polish in any of them
you know what ive noticed? "Hardcore" MMOs tend to just be lazy MMOs. If you want a hardcore playerbase, you have to ease them into the "hard" core of your game. You cant just throw players into a world, not tell them jack and expect them to figure everything out, including what stats do. If your tutorial is a lazy ass system of "pick up item, attack, congrats get out there" - you havent done a tutorial. If your tutorial is a lazy ass system of text-dump - you havent done a tutorial. Hardcore MMOs need to give their players an incentive to try and become hardcore. if you cant do that, your game probably isnt as good as you think it is.
you seem to have fun. Same as me when I first tried Mortal Online, I made a char, died 8 times, bought a book for all of my money, accidentally ripped every damn fucking paper from it and then uninstalled the game. Yeah, MMOs should held your hand at the start and during a quests you should atleast have some visible pointers.
By the way, one of the devs accuses you of giving them a bad review because they didn’t pay you (BoBRO, who was the “dev” that commented on your video)
This games combat reminds me of bannerlord starter combat but instead of having a squad or a horse to help you you’re stuck fighting in melee 2v1 with no swing speed
My problem with Early Access and looooong Alphas/Betas is that the devs tend to hyper focus on their current audience, an audience with a focus that tends to shift as they (essentially) replay the same game over and over. Then when the game finally comes out, the new-player experience ends up being flawed because the game has been tailored to the customers who have been replaying it in and out for months or years. This often means a mediocre early-game experience, a huge skill-ceiling to 100% it, and maybe a few other shenanigans. Still, those problems seem small when the alternative is that the game wouldn't exist at all. That being said, if someone said that this game was 1.0 after years of early access I would believe it.
Yo Peon, are you gonna do a video on Sand? It's an mmorpg being developed by a Ukrainian company, and the concept is very similar to Last Oasis. would be great to hear your thoughts on the first preview and hopefully give it some exposure. Cheers 😄

It's crude but it's actually kind of good in a weird way. High potential to be clear, their foundation is not trash at least.
I have watched many of your vids and love your content. I hope you dont mind me saying but you did seem overly negative in this video. I get the game has a long way to go but you played Chimeraland and handled that infinitely more positively lol. The game seems like it could have some cool longterm potential given appropriate feedback and follow up by the devs. No hate, Love your content!
they have a team of 2 full time and 2 part time , so id say this is actually looking good for them
unreal engine comes with swimming as a default feature for the character, its pretty baffling how most games (made on unreal like this one) entirely ignore it as a movement mode lol
the game does not use the default UE movement component or even default UE animation skeleton. The swimming is doable, but with the scale of the team it is too much manhours that could be spent fixing other problem that the game has
Not sure this is a surprise. No name studios taking on the hardest game genre out there.
This is a good game once you figure it out.
your spot on about the game, i would also ignore any devs in your comments. they flamed you HARD and Nasty in their discord for days when you put this out. but then acted friendly to you here lol
getting some pathetic Bethesda Starfield loser dev vibe here
Don't be discouraged, it's only early access pre alpha. By the open beta in 7 years it will be way better and in 17 years on official release date it will actually be playable ^^. Ahhh no wait, they say full release in 12 to 16 months… well if they rename this game to Stickman Hitman…
this seems very much like a hobby where someone uses assets and coding packs and just kinda worked on it for a while a lot of ideas but lacks polish in any of them
There is a toggle for gatherables so they always highlighted .. just do some more reading about your key assignments
I watched till the end because I needed your cynical humor and you always make me laugh. Of course you are always spot on with assessments. 😂
Us British are born cynical and sarcastic 😂
@@XxWolfxWaRioRxX Some of us in the US are right there with you. Especially now. 😂
you know what ive noticed?
Thanks for saving me time and money, yet again.
Woah, Haven't watched Peon in ages, but the dude is looking slim or something plastic. Either way... totally different. awesome.
When people ask us why we play Mortal Online 2 despite the game's numerous issues...these are the types of games that are it's competition.
you seem to have fun. Same as me when I first tried Mortal Online, I made a char, died 8 times, bought a book for all of my money, accidentally ripped every damn fucking paper from it and then uninstalled the game. Yeah, MMOs should held your hand at the start and during a quests you should atleast have some visible pointers.
i love the level of sarcasm :D
Nothing better than dry British humour and sarcasm, a lot of the time people don't know if we're being sarcastic or not it's just our default 😂
sick lighting!
By the way, one of the devs accuses you of giving them a bad review because they didn’t pay you (BoBRO, who was the “dev” that commented on your video)
In their discord
4:03 bald Jesus
Yo Peon, are you gonna do a video on Sand? It's an mmorpg being developed by a Ukrainian company, and the concept is very similar to Last Oasis. would be great to hear your thoughts on the first preview and hopefully give it some exposure. Cheers 😄
TheLazyPeon makes progress

I got excited, thinking there was a comeback of Guildwars
Love the brutally honest content.
Can you cover remnants 2 please
This type of critique is nice when TLP isn't being sponsored by the game devs. I'm sure a lot of games would be more scathing, lol.
Should check out "Book of Travels"
Inability to strafe while sprinting is common in many games that have a sprint mechanic, it's not odd at all.
makes sense too, from a reality and pvp balance perspective
But it feels terrible. No game should not have strafe sprinting...
@@Visher it only feels terrible to people who play unrealistic games, this is a game that’s focused on realism. Go sprint outside and try to strafe and tell me how it goes. If you want an unrealistic mmo go play wow
@@returnofthemac416 I can sure as hell run diagonally at near my straight line sprinting speed, lol.
Judging by this video, I wouldn't say this game is focused on realism...
@@Visherno you can’t, not even close. I’m an athlete and I can’t do that. You can not strafe while sprinting. Sprinting being the key word, not jogging.
And yes RoG has a lot more of a focus on realism than most MMOs. Do you you not see a difference between this and wow or ff14? Have you ever played a sandbox mmo?
Everytime you make a video I make sure to watch it as soon as I can. Love the content.
Great vid if only wb games would release asherons call 2 on steam i could buy 14 copies of it again.
The last time I bought a game that started with "Reign of-" they stopped developing the game and took everyone's money. Which they also did with another game they made. Not sure if it's the same devs, but janky, survival-like, medieval game sounds just about right.
It's kind of fitting that Reign of Guilds has a broken sword in its logo. 😵
This game looks like it was made by an AI..
Thanks for doing this, so I don't have to. I hope the next one is better for you. Cheers.
lmao i looked at the fireball and there's an arrow in the spell
