Your videos are really helping me plan my trip. I turn 45 this fall and have ever intention of doing this in early spring. Your journey feels the closest to my own and I am very grateful for everything you have shared. I cannot wait to see the rest of your footage. Thank you so much for this series thus far Kate.
Good job Kate! Climbed up that hill in March and was totally solo when I reached the shelter! Insane weather that morning and it was difficult to head back out to start the Mesita which was Soooo beautiful and challenging.. ❤
Beautifully filmed and well put together. The Meseta is gorgeous … always very special to me. So sorry though you encountered this nasty bug 🪳 and you had do deal with blisters and tendinitis. You coped well with this! Thanks for sharing your story with us! 😊
Hi Kate, I’ve just subscribed after seeing a comment on Nick’s channel. This is the first of your videos I’ve watched and it was a tough watch indeed. I finished my Camino in León on 10th May having walked several days on the meseta with tendinitis in my knee. I was absolutely gutted but knew I had to stop as walking downhill became just about impossible. I’ve also had that same injury to my foot as you but on a previous Camino and after a couple of days rest I was able to continue so hope you managed to continue too. (it’s after midnight and I’ll catch up with your next instalment tomorrow 😅). I’m planning to return to León in September to pick up where I left off. Anyway I really enjoyed your video and seeing the meseta again, even though it’s still fresh I’m my memory. Cheers and Buen Camino.
Hi Graham Oh that must have been soooo hard for you! But is great you have the opportunity to go back and complete it. Yes spoiler alert - I was able to walk again after 2 rest days. I’m still creating the next video and hope to get it out soon. You can catch up with chapters 1-3 though. Thank you for the sub! Buen Camino!
Kate, a thought on giving in to your fears; remember this line from the 1942 movie Casablanca with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman “You’ll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life” 😅 Happy Trails.
Hi Kate. Am finding these weekly blogs very useful. I assume these are experiences from last year and this is a compilation of your first Camino Frances.
Glad you find them useful. Yes this was late summer/sept 2023 and my first Camino. It’s just taken me a while to compile the content into videos! Buen Camino!
Hi Paul - that’s a tricky one! I don’t know. on this blog my shortest day was 16km and my longest was over 30. Usually I would say somewhere between 24 and 30. Sometimes more and sometimes less. But I needed recovery time in Leon and had already taken a rest day in Burgos and also had a nearly zero day of 8km one week in. So it was all very variable! Towards the end of the Camino is when I was able to consistently do longer days and manage to keep this up even when there were hills. But I was fitter by then.
The scenery is so amazing! 🌅 What an amazing experience - and achievement, Kate 💙 I’m really loving these videos! 🎥 Keep posting! 🥰
Thanks so much! 😊

Thanks so much for the encouraging comments! I’m so pleased it has helped you with your planning. It’s great you are planning to walk the Camino! 💚
Meseta was our favourite part of the Camino - but we went past the green and white food truck in torrential rain! It looks so different in the sun!
It is a beautiful place! it must look so different at different times of year!

Thanks for the encouragement Neil! Blessings and Buen Camino!
At 14:48 you came through my little village. I am sorry you were suffering with those blisters.
That’s cool!
My blisters did eventually improve.
thank you ☺️
The Meseta was the best part of the journey.
It’s a beautiful place!

Nice one Kate.
Thank you Harry! 😃
You really have captured the true spirit of the Camino Frances.
I've recently completed the Camino Fonseca (from Salamanca).
On August 19th I begin the Frances again. (by far the best)
Thank you! I’m working on the next video right now! ☺️
Wow Harry!!! That’s incredible! Well done on completing the Camino Fonseca!
The Meseta in May should be nice and green.
Yes I would love to see it at that time of year!
@@Kate_PilgrimHi Kate, it is stunning in May. Very green.

You THINK you've finished the BODY part....lol....wait until the climb to O'Cebrario...
True! 😂
What is your average km per day??
