Jessica....what a wonderful presentation....looked like such a fun hike...you and Montana had such a great time...music was great as well...peace and good health to you both....looking forward to your next adventure no matter where it takes you...be safe !!
That is me at 8:14 to "wanting to achieve a lot of goals" well I made it to Santiago. It took me 6 weeks and it was amazing. Anyone can have this amazing experience. It was wonderful to meet Jessica and Montana. Love that it all documented. Thank you girls.
Tracey Coleman, you were sweet mentioning Dixie. And now you are famous in Dixie's world. Congrats on reaching your goal. This documentary is so inspiring I just checked to see when my passport expires. I have a few years, cant wait to walk the Camino! Blessings and have lots more adventures.
I have watched so many Camino videos....I have lost count. I have to say....without a doubt...your video is my favorite...although I found myself crying most of the time through it. I loved that you wanted to take your little sister and you both seem to love each other so much. I have been alienated from my sister for many years and we haven't spoken. If the betrayal had not run so deep....I would call her up and see if she wants to walk it with me. But I will not fool myself. It would not be the same Camino as you and your little sister have just undertaken. And I can bet that the bond between the two of you can never be broken. I have been dreaming of walking the Camino. I am fixing to turn 71 in a few days. I guess that is why I have watched so many videos. It was just a couple of days ago that I decided to take the money I have been saving for the last couple of years for a screened in back porch (to keep those pesky mosquitos away in the Carolinas)....but yesterday morning I woke up and I said to myself over my morning coffee that I have decided to take my screen porch money and make plans to use the money to go and walk the Camino. I was so happy and I even called to see how much it will cost to board my dogs. So I am feeling excited just to have made the decision. Well.....my happiness at the prospect of walking the Camino came crushing down before I even got started. I went out to my car and it is broken. I knew this day would come (It's a 1990 SUV with over 300,000 miles on it. It has been a good old car. Other than maintenance I haven't had a day of trouble. Looks like my Camino will have to wait another year. Now, I need to look for another good used car, I guess. Thank you again for sharing your adventure. I especially loved the filming of the little creatures. I could sense God smiling.
You two Young Ladies are the "Real Deal". Your down to earth story telling injected with humor; the juxtapositions of the man-made sacred with the nature made sacred, expertly woven together with your wonderful photography is heartfelt. As others have noted - you put a lot of effort into your work. Your details are so well captured- can't praise you enough! The video seems to be paced "just right" - then - WHAM - you TAKE YOUR TIME to rescue a poor, sick, kitty - even after you note that you "have to be more careful with paying full price for lodging" 😮😥😮😨😨, otherwise, "you'll run out of funds"! You two made me cry!! Thank you, thank you for rescuing the little kitty! (I hope your work has earned enough to pay for your well presented ventures!) The Best to You, Both!! 💗
Sitting here at work in the hospital (I'm a nurse) on my break, and I'm so enjoying this short escape from all this sickness. Thank you Miss Dixie for all your hard work that went into making this!
You had me in tears... I walked the Camino before on my own and in 2 days I´ll be walking it again with someone for the first time. Watching the special relationship you had with your sister really touched my heart. Buen Camino wherever you are
Dear Jessica, I just finished watching your through hike of the PCT and yesterday, I was fortunate enough to watch your through hike on the Camino de Santago. I want to say thank you. Thank you for the beautiful person you truely are. Little things of saving little lives of insects, your funny, funny original and special sense of humour caught me with deep gratitude and love. I have been hiking for a few years in Australia but nothing like what you do. You really inspire me to take my hiking to another level. Thank you for your honesty and sweetness. May you be truely happy, umesh.
Thank you Jessica and Montana for this amazing little film! I walked the Camino over 10 years ago. I tip my hat to you for your humor, your amazing photography, the editing, the soundtrack choices were epic and for carrying all the cameras and chargers and recharging every day so you could film and share this with us. This really touched me deeply! This is the best film I've seen...way better than the Hollywood film of it for sure! You shared such joy! and nothing felt rehearsed or awkward....Kudos to you both and THANK you for sharing your joyful journey...it makes me want to go back again.
Loved your Camino video. I noticed a homeless man at the end of the video in Santiago. They called him Smiley. I gave him my shoes in Burgos where I ended my walk. I started in Le Puy en Voley. I plan on going back to Burgos to finish. Le Puy is a wonder start for the Camino. It’s the gr65. The trail is marked with a red and white stripe. Keep up the wonderful videos! Be well, John
What a charming pair you two are! I just loved your video! Had me in tears so many times. Barring a continued Covid shutdown, my plan is to walk the Camino in 2021 and to enter Santiago De Compostela in time to celebrate the Jubilee year of the Festival De Santiago on July 25. I was always told that the true pilgrim walks the Camino alone, but after watching Dos Chicas, I am afraid that I too will bring my little sister along- to celebrate-like yourselves-the joy of sisterhood. Buen Camino.
When I was 15, my Mum took my cousin and I on a car trip around Europe and England. The memories she gave us are irreplaceable. It is so wonderful that Montana and you got to experience this this adventure together. She will remember this for the rest of her life. I can speak from experience. Well done.
The title of this video is very fitting. You'd think it's about walking the Camino but it not really. The series was about walking the Camino, this documentary is about two sisters sharing an adventure and creating memories. Together.
Oh wow. Talk about an amazing documentary. Your use of music was absolutely on par. I honestly felt like I was there with you. Absolutely phenomenal video, Dixie.
This was such a lovely documentary. When I walked the Camino, I was young and rushing it. I missed out on so many of the slower, beautiful moments that you captured in this video. Seems like such a lovely sister bonding experience. I wouldn't trade my Camino experience for anything - everyone walks their own walk - but seeing this makes me want to walk it all over again and really savor it.
Your comment made me think. It's really a metaphor of how we approach life in general. As we age, whether consciously or unconsciously, our focus tends to gravitate from quantity to quality.
Beautiful documentary girls ! Thank you for your smiles , your lightness and your ways ... It brought back good memories . I walked the Camino in 2009 and i am thinking of going back out there this year . I am now 47 years old and something inside of me is telling me to GO ! It's a fragile world and each step should remind us of our own fragility but also tells us that we are capable of so much : All creatures great and small ... Hope you are both doing well ! Life is a Camino as you know, take it easy but take IT ! ULTREIA ! With love ...
Congratulations Jessica. You have produced a beautiful movie about the Camino de Santiago. It is a pity that the pandemic has confined all of us at home, but we hope that in just a few months we will see thousands of people from all over the world enjoying my country. A big hug from Spain, and many encouragements to all! We will get out of this!
I did the Camino with two of my siblings a year ago. Exactly a year latter on of them was diagnosed with cancer, The Camino open the door between us to live a more simple live and to care for what really is important in life. Buen Camino!
This is one of the best films of the Camino de Santiago I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched lots. It has really helped me decide whether to walk it alone or with someone and your interaction with your sister is beautiful and a game changer for me. I’ll walk it in august 2022 after my hip replacement. Thanks, you guys were great and I enjoyed every minute.
Missed the Premiere but watching this version of your complete Camino series from last year today. It is super!. Coincidentally, today, I was looking at our photos from our Portuguese Coastal Camino last Autumn. The Camino gets in your blood and when you aren’t there yourself, you have to relive your own, or live vicariously through someone else’s. Listening to you learn about a new place, a country you’ve never been to, is fascinating. Taking your younger sibling on this trip was a very wonderful thing to do. You will be forever adored by your sister, and all your viewers, too. You recognize what you don’t know, and that there are things to learn, every step of the way. Americans have a reputation, perhaps unfair, of not recognizing this when they travel. I learn something from every one of your videos, even ones I’ve watched before. Ultreia! And stay home and safe in the meantime! Where are you planning to hike next?
It hadn’t occurred to me until I got to the end of this why I enjoyed watching the two of you walk. You see, we walked part of the French Way in 2016 with our friends, and were were also joined by their three daughters, 26, 23 and 21. So many of the fun (and silly) things you and your sister did, and thoughtful things you observed, and the bond you have, are reminiscent of our wonderful walk with these three young women. Thanks again for sharing your journey. After our second Camino, via the Portuguese Coastal route, I am determined to return, and walk another route, or all of the French way. Thanks again for the inspiration.
Dixie, you truly are an inspiration for this old woman! I love your sense of adventure, you set a goal and go for it, and now you took your little sister along, I enjoyed watching your weekly Camino vlogs and now seeing them all together it’s even better! Congratulations chicas and Thank you for taking us along with you. Can’t wait to see your next adventure.
Dixie, this video is beautifully made! The way you go from manmade religious structures, amazing as they are, but then switch to something similar in nature--that's just genius! So thought provoking and meaningful and, yes, spiritual! Love it!!
I am aiming to do the Camino in 2025 or 2026. I have to prepare a lot for it. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Yeah, this was definiteky well made and my favorite parts were the critters you featured along the way and your interactions with them. Will be rewatching and taking notes next tme. Thank you so much!!! Buen Camino!!
What a wonderful video! I walked the Frances way alone in 2013, but had to quit at Burgos because of a stress fracture- devastating! What was so special was your relationship with Montana. I walked the Portuguese way from Porto 2 yrs ago with a friend- amazing! Your video made me feel like I was there! Your suggestions were right on too. Buen Camino again!
Marvellous... That was so sweet and funny and inspiring as usual. My granny walked this about 10 years ago in her 60's straight from Czech, which is around 3000km, took her 125 days. Even did the extra 100 to Finistera. Inspired by all of you, I might start saving for this journey as well.
This was a fun and a very rewarding video. I am so glad you got your sister to do it with you ... it will be something that will remain in your memories for the rest of your lives. I was supposed to do this Camino in June-July but Covid-19 had other plans, but I will try to do it in 2021. Thank you so very much for posting.
I’ve done the Camino 3 times now- the frances route twice and the Portuguese route this past summer. I love your videos and was so excited to see you do the Camino too! Buen Camino from your neighbors in Missouri 🐚❤️
I really enjoyed this doco thanks Miss Dixie...I adored the girls interactions with one another...they gave a bright young wholesome zest to the Camino... walked 350ks of the Camino in 2016... forced to quit due to injury...admired Montana’s grit sticking it out with both a wonky knee and foot probs...thanks again🙏🌺
Just sitting in my chair in Alabaster, just up the road from you guys, listening the the thunder and rain. Your video was inspiring and fun to watch. Your song hit all the right notes and was a treat in all the stay at home stuff! Thank ya'll for representing the state of Alabama in a wonderful light. Those memories will live with you and your sister far after the sore legs and bites. Thanks again for the escape.
I walked the french way in May of 2019 and although I loved walking before, I now seem to be obsessed with it. I walk almost as far every week now as I did on The Camino. Hoping to walk the Cape Wrath Trail this September and maybe the PCT or AT in a couple of years. I enjoyed these episodes when they were released but still great to watch them again. PAJITA!!😂
There was so much life in this video. I'm glad you had the opportunity to share this experience with your someone you care about, and I thank you for sharing that experience with us. Be safe, and good road, wherever you go!
sounds like an amazing trip - in a lot of Europe we don't use straws anymore because of the impact plastic has on the environment, it's become a sort of 'social taboo' in many countries - however, most cafes will have plastic or paper straws kept back for those with disabiltiles or those who have difficulty drinking without a straw - for anyone who prefers a straw to drink with it may be worthwhile buying a metal or bamboo one online to take with you
Its so sad everyone'es hiking adventures were cut short this year, but this is wonderful, because it captures what it was like before all this. Love that you got to do a hike with your sister, thats nice when you can share something like that with her. I just love your videos! I think you should put Thru Hike and Spain in the title, in case people don't know what it is. Thats so neat the communal dinner, and how you get to hear about everyone's journey. I started to cry when you mentioned the story of the guy, and the daughters ashes. My sister in law lost her son, and carried his ashes with her on a necklace, and then she tragically passed away. I hope that man finds what he needs on the journey. We all take journeys for different reasons. Running toward something, away from it, to try to find something that gives your life meaning, to fill yourself up when your feeling empty, with something new. "This Alabama runs deep." Speaking the language is a big deal anywhere you go, and I think its the most nerve wracking part of travel.
This is the video that helped me discover your channel. As someone with a Camino channel, I try to watch all the Camino related content that I can. But you have ended up being a gift to me during this season of no Camino because of COVID. I decided to walk a section of AT in May because of your thru hike videos. I saw that you will be at Trail Days, so maybe I'll get a chance to say hi there in a few weeks!
Thanks Dixie. What an amazing journey you had with Montana. Virtually walking along with y’all was most enjoyable - making me laugh I needed right now. I was so looking forward to my own Camino in May but unforeseen circumstances it has been delayed. Now is the time to be selfless - I pray all the Spanish people along the way are able to survive. The spirit of the Camino will go on and as they say It will provide when the time is right to return. Buen Camino.
I’ve always believed that along with a university fund there should be a 1 year before university fund to allow for travel and I believe it will open the eyes and mind for the 18 year old going and they will come back as a different mature person. Your sister and you will remember this for the rest of your lives, thank you for bringing us along
Girl. First of all let me say as a Fellow southerner NC and Alabama, I absolutely love your take on life and your perspective in your editing and music! It’s the little things you say, the little frogs, snails, the wind in the trees, the lakes, sunsets, etc. that set you apart from any other hiking/adventure filmer/channel. This was such a beautiful trip to take your sis on and I soo loved every min of it. Was over too soon for me too as a viewer. ❤️ Keep it up and I hope to do the AT one day soon
Since I watched “The Way” Few years ago my dream is to walk the Camino. I have just watched your video and it makes me even more determined to one day walk the Camino. Thank you so much for your film, for sharing your journey. What amazing young women you are. Strong, proud, obvious love for each other, determined with incredible humour. I will watch this again and again and again….. thank you
Dixie darlin', your content is getting me through the winter...Loved this one so much. I want to talk my sister into hiking the AT within the next few years. We're in our fifties but I bet we could do it ;) God bless you and Montana!
Your video was informative and inspiring. Thanks for this one and your other videos. I finished my AT thru hike with Rumbles and Mr Freeze a couple months back. We all agreed your work in the field helped us. I now may try to get my sister to join me on a LASH and create some memories. She’s 66 and I just hit 55. Keep doing your thing Dixie!!
That was totally awesome. I was struck by your stamina and resolve. I enjoyed every minute. What a great film and experience. Thank you very much for sharing it.
Plantain is an amazing plant for bites stings and to stem bleeding 🙏 thank you for what you have bought to me I’m a spinal cord survivor and now use an electric bike and not a wheelchair but I’m laid up at the moment with a lower spinal cord compression injury bought on by overdoing it again yet it was meant to be as I’ve been watching your treks and I feel free and like I’ve been there with you all the time thank you your a beautiful soul 🙏💚🙏
Really enjoyed that Dixie! I started my own 'Camino' from my home in Dundalk, Ireland last summer and got as far as Mont St. Michel in Normandy (took the ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg). It might take me a while to get to Santiago! But I'm in no rush, I think it's kinda fun to take it in sections and zig-zag my way down from one interesting place to another. I had a tent and stayed at campsites in Normandy which was really nice, campsites in France are very friendly, relaxed places I found and very cheap, I think the cheapest pitch I got was €3 for a night! I wonder is that an option in Spain, I didn't really like the look of those crammed dormitories you stayed at. I'm enjoying your channel and the good advice and thorough reviews, keep up the good work, Shane.
Well done, girls! Thank you for sharing your lyrical and inspirational journey. It’s a visual masterpiece of storytelling, beautifully edited. I love the creative transitions. You’ve distilled the essence of the Camino. I’ve been dreaming of my 2nd Camino since I got back last year even though I was hobbling around like a centenarian for weeks afterward. The Camino loves you, hurts you, and begs you to come back. Thank you for keeping the dream alive - and the exhilarating ride!!!
Thank you so much, Dixie, for putting this out during quarantine - especially when my sister and I were supposed to be going to Spain together next month
This ist a great video! I'm from Heidelberg/Germany. I lived in Valencia, spain and learned spanisch (Made eine funny mistakes at the beginning. But people we're very friendly with me. 10 years ago i was travelling with my younger sister (Backpacking) in norway and sweden. We slept in cheap Hostels and climbed some Mountains. We still talk about that a lot when we see other.
I'm fascinated by your journey, an amazing experience, some pilgrims look for their inner peace after a relative has died, some pilgrims look for an answer or meaning to their existence but for me it's the sense of adventure, the unknown awaiting me everyday day i open my eyes, well done, I have enjoyed your video having a nice glass of Spanish wine. Saludos desde el Sur de Inglaterra. Gracias
Watching through your documentaries you have come a long way in your editing skills. Been watching alot of hikers videos for a couple of years, these are by far the best. Keep up the great work, and the wanderlust. Cheers from PA, hopefully Ill get out on the trail soon enough.
I agree. This is the best video of the Camino I have seen yet and I have been watching them for five years. I only walked three days on the Camino. I went to Finisterre via Taxi. You Chicas did an awesome jjob.
Hey Dixie! Wonderful video, thank you so much! I'm just a portuguese guy (and living in Spain) who loves the Camino and did it several times. Seeing your film/documentary just made me travel there and walk it, feel it... Great specially now we are confined do to the covid-19 governamental measures. Please stay well and keep doing what you do as it feels you LOVE it! Many blessings 🙏 PS: also enjoyed some of your other videos (especially the one on the Appalachian trail - inspiring)
This is one of your best videos I've seen. You guys did an absolutely awesome job on this one. Thank you so much for taking us along on your journey. Love from KY. The ceiling in the cathedrals are a representation of the heavens....looking up is what you're supposed to do. It's meant to make an impression on those who walk into the church.....and it does.
I bet that people who watched this during lockdown were frustrated at not being able to get out and do some real training towards new goal they've discovered through this. I also loved how excited your sister was at Santiago....its so good to have given so much and finally achieve your goal and know that the coast walk was a bonus!
Nice to see this updated video though the cat rescue doesn't feature... I still think - as I posted on your last Camino summary video - that you'd find it very interesting & rewarding to hike round the Japanese island of Shikoku following the 88 temples pilgrimage route. Discreet wild camping very easy and cheap hot springs everywhere. Rural Japanese, and most Japanese in general, are very welcoming to people such as yourself and Japan is... another planet (with gorgeous nature... and those hot springs!). Thank you for your entertaining posts.
Dixie, this is just superb, I walked the Camino in 2019 just after my 70th birthday and seeing these little towns brings back so many memories. Good idea to walk with your sister, you were able to share the planning and the walking, meet people, etc. it is a unique experience and I just want to do another, perhaps the walk from Porto north to Santiago. It’s now Sept 2020 and I suspect it will be a few years before it is possible or safe. They are having a hard time with the pandemic in Spain. Have to agree that having some Spanish language is a huge benefit, I spent some time learning a few words using Coffee Break Spanish, and highly recommend it as a way of learning enough Spanish for the Camino. It’s a popular walk among other Australian hikers too. thanks for your other videos too...
You guys saved that kitten and now you're super heroes in my book. I've watched every one of your hiking documentaries start to finish. Born and raised in Alabama, living in southwest Florida currently. Planning to hike the Florida Trail now thanks to your inspiration.
Thank you so much for sharing your Camino experience with us!!! There are so many memories coming up watching this... I did the French Way in autumn 2019 and it was one of the best things I did in life until now... I am like I need to do it again and again. Autumn this year I started at home and walked the Camino through switzerland. I'm hoping that I can continue soon😊 Greetings to all pilgrims! Elisa from germany👣💛
Dixie - I LOVE these long videos! I've been watching shorter ones (reviews & stuff) for a couple of years, just found the CDT video this morning. Soaked up every minute of it--now this one! I almost feel like I'm on the trip with you! Keep up the good work.
I liked this video a lot that I watched it twice so far. I love it how you included the WHY hike the Santiago? Your narration really captivates your audience. And nice choice of music. Great bonding time with Montana. Leche Caliente Chocolate--I'll remember that when I do this hike. Bravo for Dixie Chick Alabama!
Recorded in a time when your biggest worry was bed bugs. What a difference a few months make. All of these little towns are mostly older residents. Hopefully they're all ok. 🙏🏼
Not gonna lie, when I would see them around a big group of people I freaked out a little on the inside.. really puts into perspective what a toll the last few months has taken on my mind. I can't wait until this is over, I would love to do this trail!
@Burnt Orange The main takeaway isn't the word used, it is the evil behind what they did, and the fact that those kinds of people exist. Obviously I wasn't declaring that they have a democrat party.
Dixie and Montana, I could not have watched your documentary any other way: Rainy afternoon, sofa, blanket, a cup of "chocolate caliente" and a "pajita". Congratulations, your video journal was so refreshing…
Very nicely done! It’s great to see siblings enjoying each other’s company in this time of global unrest. Watched most of all your videos and will continue to do so.
I’ve been walking the Camino every year since 2014 and this year had to cancel it do to the Covid pandemic, this is by far one of the best videos I’ve seen about the Camino experience.
isn t coming across agressive dogs an issue? i would ve thought that with so many sheep, there would be many sheperd dogs, or village dogs not on an a leash..
Parabéns . Excelente documentário. Sou um peregrino brasileiro. Fiz o Caminho Francês em 2004, e o Português nos anos de 2015, 2016, 2018 e 2019. Parabéns. Ultreya.
In quarantine, really enjoy your trips and the adventures now with you and Montana. ¡Ojalá que tengas aventuras maravillas en los años que vienen! Now that I am close to retirement, these adventures give me/us something to look forward to :).
Been watching quite a few videos about long distance walks and this is one of the best. You've captured the essence of the Camino. It's fun to spot place and even people (Pepe) from when I walked the same Camino route in 2017. It was the simplicity of the Camino that I loved; how far shall I walk, what shall I eat and where will I stay? The only real three questions of the day.
What a great video! I lived in Spain for a couple years and before I moved back to the States a couple years ago, I spent a week riding my motorcycle from Madrid to A Coruña, trying to visit as many Northern regions as I could. I stayed at a hostel in Burgos my first night and encountered a bunch of pilgrims. At that time I didn't know much about the Camino so I learned a bit about it on my moto trip. León also happened to be on my itinerary and it was fun to look for the arrows, shells, and pilgrims when I got there. I am not a backpacker, but after watching this I will seriously consider walking at least part of the Camino when I move back to Europe. I'm a new subscriber, having found your channel a couple weeks ago while preparing for my first real backpacking trip that was supposed to be this weekend up into the Uintas. I've barely car camped just a handful of times and the only backpacking I've done was a 4 mile snowshoe to a winter yurt stocked with wood, stove, kitchen equipment, and a vault toilet so all we had to carry was sleeping bag and food. (There was tons of snow to melt for water.) My backpacking trip this weekend was cancelled because of that arctic storm we had Tuesday that pushed nighttime temps down into the 20s where we were headed. So I watched this video and your PCT video instead. I think the first video of yours that I watched a couple weeks ago was the 4 hour "beginner's guide" compilation. When I started it I thought there was no way I would hang in for 4 hours but you are so engaging that I watched it in one sitting. You probably won't even see this comment, but in case you do I wanted to say thanks for the great content. I've tried watching some other "how to" videos on different channels these past couple weeks and I often don't make it to the end of them -- even if they're only 10-15 minutes. Your videos are just so much better.
Love the Uintahs, please make sure you pack out your tp and trash. I’ve seen so much garbage on the trail this year so I want to get the word out. Enjoy your trip!
Excellent lead in Dixie! I watched every episode of the Camino but I will definitely watch the rest of this later, as I have to get my butt to work right now. Very cool!
Just discovered your channel and watched this video! What an experience. I’m hiking the GR5 from the Northsea in Holland to the Mediterranean Sea in Nice in France. Unfortunately not as a thru-hike. Will for sure look to your other videos and subscribed to see upcoming adventures
Hey Dixie. Been following you since your PCT hike. Just missed you at Burney Falls. Darn! I appreciate your views and encouragement. Sometimes, pilgrims find what they seek with a pack on their back, a steel horse between their legs or in a hospital bed. The start of the journey is in the choice to discard time. You are such an inspiration. I am enriched by your journeys. Thank you.
I have not watched many long videos. But I have watched two of yours in just a weeks time. Incredible coverage. Incredible stories. incredible wildlife. Incredible encouragement. And dog gonnit you are very incredible southern women. Neither of You will forget the time spent together.
I watched your triple crown in reverse and it was amazing to see this driven machine go in reverse, to your first big hike, then you took your sister out and balanced that Terminator personality with the gentle loving hand of a... just wow. More than want to hoke, i think you make me feel like trying to be a better person! Thank you Dixie!
A great trip, just epic. The bond between you two was heartwarming ! Little sister wasn’t sure at first but appeared to fully enjoy it at the finish line.
Wonderful job ladies. After walking constantly since 2011 in memory of my daughter's passing you captured the essence of the Camino for first timers. You have vicariously fulfilled my dream to walk in 2020.
Thanks to all of you who joined in for the premiere! It was so fun. I appreciate your support more than you know. Y’all be safe out there ♥️
Thanks you for doing it!!
Thanks Dixie for the Camino Premiere Movie! Hopefully the Mills Sisters will Hike together again. ♥️🙏 For Mill Gang and Homemade Wanderlust Nation 🌝
i could only watch 1/2 during the premiere before going to work, finishing it off and man its amazing

YAYYY! Congrats ♥️ We missed seeing y’all.
That is so fantastic that someone you watched hike was there when you started! Homemade Wanderlust International!!
I have watched so many Camino videos....I have lost count. I have to say....without a doubt...your video is my favorite...although I found myself crying most of the time through it.
(I hope your work has earned enough to pay for your well presented ventures!)
The Best to You, Both!! 💗
Sitting here at work in the hospital (I'm a nurse) on my break, and I'm so enjoying this short escape from all this sickness. Thank you Miss Dixie for all your hard work that went into making this!
Thanks for all your hard work!
@@luker8887 its my pleasure...and my calling. You're very welcome! Stay safe
Bob Gaines thank you!
Thanks for your service.
Thanks Bob for your hard work and dedication.
That was better than most professional documentaries, Dixie is definitely a great story teller & videographer. The editing was also great.

she does it for a living
@@Onlinesully Well she's earned it then

yep
She has an editor friend. He hiked the CDT with Dixie.
I think his name is Aaron.
You had me in tears... I walked the Camino before on my own and in 2 days I´ll be walking it again with someone for the first time. Watching the special relationship you had with your sister really touched my heart. Buen Camino wherever you are
Dear Jessica,
I just finished watching your through hike of the PCT and yesterday, I was fortunate enough to watch your through hike on the Camino de Santago. May you be truely happy,
umesh.
Who is Jessica? Her name is Dixie…
Perhaps we are more travellers rather than pilgrims? Either way it will be a life changing experience. All the best in 2021 for your journey.
It was so nice meeting you ladies on the Camino. This was a fantastic effort. Well done to you both! Buen Camino! Tara
Lizy Grillasca, Blessings to you and your family. I hope all goes well and you have many more adventures in the future.
I wish you and your family the very best. 🙏🏻
Oh and you saved a cat so this is now the best film ever.
Great documentary! Admire Montana’s perseverance. It took courage to walk in pain.
By far, one of THE best hiking videos I have watched. What a great thing to share with your sister. Thanks for sharing your great adventure. ♥️
This has to be one of the most enjoyable Camino's on TH-cam and amazingly put together. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
I watched all of the videos of this trip when they came out, but this is brilliant!! Well done!
Ditto. Ditto ditto ditto. Even though I watched them as they came out, seeing it all in one is fabulous.
Sangha ya zygotewrriwidi
I did the route from Porto last year, magical, the best thing I've ever done!!!
What a wonderful and inspirational insight into the Camino. Congratulations on making the best video I have seen on TH-cam for a long, long time.
Be safe, and good road, wherever you go!
sounds like an amazing trip - in a lot of Europe we don't use straws anymore because of the impact plastic has on the environment, it's become a sort of 'social taboo' in many countries - however, most cafes will have plastic or paper straws kept back for those with disabiltiles or those who have difficulty drinking without a straw - for anyone who prefers a straw to drink with it may be worthwhile buying a metal or bamboo one online to take with you
Population growth is THE serious environmental issue, but almost never discussed.
@@dstorm7752 At least not rationally. You are right. We need smarter people, not just more people.
Very much agreed! I loved the small, photographic details, as well, of these two sisters!
Loved the humor, as well. They are very fortunate "pals" ❤
I'm Luis from Spain. I really like your video Dos chicas. Fantastic experience. Congratulations ❤️
🇪🇸 🇺🇸
OMG!!!!! Now I want to do this more than ever!
Many blessings 🙏
PS: also enjoyed some of your other videos (especially the one on the Appalachian trail - inspiring)
Wow! That was a great documentary of your journey. Thanks for cutting it together like this! The cut and the music are very good as well!
Wow that was beautiful, so many emotions. Thanks for putting all the videos together. I watched this twice
I bet that people who watched this during lockdown were frustrated at not being able to get out and do some real training towards new goal they've discovered through this. I also loved how excited your sister was at Santiago....its so good to have given so much and finally achieve your goal and know that the coast walk was a bonus!
Dixie that was awesome!!!! Very well done! Y’all are great ambassadors and inspiration to all Americans!
I've watched many Camino videos on youtube and this was by far the best.
Well, you folks stitched all that into a great presentation. The graphics were superb, too.
You guys saved that kitten and now you're super heroes in my book. I've watched every one of your hiking documentaries start to finish. Born and raised in Alabama, living in southwest Florida currently. Planning to hike the Florida Trail now thanks to your inspiration.
I've seen this before, but, in this time of sheltering in place, it brought tears to my eyes. Thanks Dixie (Jessica), and Montana too.
This is a marvelous film for a dozen different reasons. Your sense of humor about everything important is remarkable.
Montana has great hair. I really like the editing and music in this one . . . a new level of excellence.
I'm hoping that I can continue soon😊
Greetings to all pilgrims!
Elisa from germany👣💛
Beautiful! I got so emotional watching this including goosebumps and tears. Thank you Dixie!
Dixie - I LOVE these long videos! I've been watching shorter ones (reviews & stuff) for a couple of years, just found the CDT video this morning. Soaked up every minute of it--now this one! I almost feel like I'm on the trip with you! Keep up the good work.
Awesome documentary. Looking forward to your next adventure. New Zealand I hope
Tourism didn't seem to have all that much downside... until now. ☹️
Hopefully they don't have democrats that force nursing homes to take in virus patients.
Santo Domingo really suffered terribly with COVID-19 as did a lot of these small ageing towns. Hope to be back to show our support soon
So sweet you took your little sister on such a memorable adventure.
That's so cool you walk it every year!! Do you find that the experience changes?
pins+needles every year gets better! 😀
isn t coming across agressive dogs an issue? i would ve thought that with so many sheep, there would be many sheperd dogs, or village dogs not on an a leash..
Even though I watched every video as they came out, this was amazing. Thank you for rushing it out. So wonderful in these stressful o.
(There was tons of snow to melt for water.)
My backpacking trip this weekend was cancelled because of that arctic storm we had Tuesday that pushed nighttime temps down into the 20s where we were headed.
Beautiful, simply beautiful😊
That is definitely one of the best documentaries of el Camino Frances. You captured the vibe perfectly
Excellent lead in Dixie! I watched every episode of the Camino but I will definitely watch the rest of this later, as I have to get my butt to work right now. Very cool!
This was really beautifully done! It was so nice to “get to know” Montana. Thank you for recording your lovely journey.
Thank you.
Loved this, hope to do it myself one day. Greetings from Sweden!
I have not watched many long videos. But I have watched two of yours in just a weeks time. Incredible coverage. Incredible stories. incredible wildlife. Incredible encouragement. And dog gonnit you are very incredible southern women. Neither of You will forget the time spent together.
Wonderful movie! Loved the editing, so well made. Montana cracked me up with how sick of your jokes she was at the end.
DIXIE: _"Wow, that's a good pile you put back there."_
MONTANA: _"I hate you."_
😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
A great trip, just epic. The bond between you two was heartwarming ! Little sister wasn’t sure at first but appeared to fully enjoy it at the finish line.
Perfect quarantine watching! Thanks!
Wonderful job ladies. After walking constantly since 2011 in memory of my daughter's passing you captured the essence of the Camino for first timers. You have vicariously fulfilled my dream to walk in 2020.
