Gina reminds me of my middle school Algebra teacher. Only my teacher wore glasses. the same voice, face and vibe. She was a really cool teacher and made learning algebra fun and easy. Every time I see you I feel like I'm in front of her again and she's teaching guitar now.
Wow Gina that's pretty cool. More than what my classical guitar teacher showed me in six months about the structure of scale shapes. Can't thank you enough. Wish that you would have been my instructor then. Best regards .John.
You rule Gina you always give awesome guitar lessons I hope all is well, and I'm very happy you're back teaching the technique of the week, and hopefully I'll get to see Baroness in Fort Worth/Dallas one day, thank you for inspiring me to keep playing much love and respect to you all I hope I get to meet you one day and I hope this wasn't awkward please stay safe and rock on and I don't care if everyone makes fun of me for this, but I'm sending a hug and best wishes for Baroness!💕
Is this what people mean when you see those '3 notes per string' instructionals? I found this very helpful as I partly knew the scale already and you were very easy to follow. Much obliged!
@@allthecommonsense Nah. “3 notes per string” refers to the fastest, most efficient way to play a scale on a guitar. It’s fast and efficient because the scale can be played in one hand position without excess lateral movement across the neck.
Unbelievable. Over 500k views & only just over 100 comments. I wish you & the TH-cam were around 55 years ago when I was a teenager with my Teisco guitar & no-name tube amp.
from what i am seeing, you look at things in a similar way to the way i do. i LOVE the feel and sound of playing thirds through a scale. its a lot more melodic. i would like to think it helps my ear. i love scalework, and finding patterns, even though i'm not very fast. i also love exploring ideas and concepts in the way you presented them in this video. i don't think i see enough (actually none) people doing that. there is one particular pattern that i have always found interesting. locrian, for a couple octaves. it seems to double stack all of the half steps for all of the scales and modes in one place. visually, if i can find where all of these half steps stack that way, all over the neck, (in whatever key), then it is as simple as adding a note a whole step lower to play the minor scale, or, starting on the second note of locrian to play the relative major. i used to HATE this pattern, until i saw how symetrical it helped me to lay everything out mentally. sorry i rambled. i got a little excited when i saw someone look at these things in a similar way to the way i do. i think i'll go check out more of your videos.
Text overlay is hiding her fingers. I'd also be curious to know what percentage of viewers need this feature for this video. And when dies compliance turn into merely compliance for an audio company?
@@allthecommonsense The point was that for someone who NEEDS subtitles, the content is hidden by the visual placement of the subtitles. More thought needs to be put into this than just compliance. Although I do wonder what the audience size is for those audiences. In this world of PR, it may be an opportunity.
@@RobertCleggRC Just in case it may be helpful: you can change the positioning of the subtitles by dragging them with a mouse, at least that's how it works in the browser version of TH-cam. You can also change font size, color, background color, opacity, etc. (all through the Settings menu)
