I then updated to the RX7 for $600 back in 1988… 100 internal sounds… 24 non sensitive pads… this new Finger Pad has so much packed into a small package!!
Since I'm blind, I ended up getting myself the 30 since I have no way to see the screens of any device. I use normal electronic drums also, but many times I don't use them to their full potencial.
I’ve found excellent demos and the people that are good at these things are all Playing the white one. I think the white model knows what it is and the black model places it closer to the groove box market like sp404mk2 and such. But my take is if you have an SP or any other sampler/groove box you win with the white
That's what I would like also. It would help me as a blind musician so much to not have to memorize menus without sounds or spoken messages on a lot of instruments.
Hey, distortionto1066. Thanks for your question. You can adjust the volume. I have included a link to the specific page in the manual that lists all of the steps: manual.yamaha.com/mi/de/fgdp50/en/fgdp50_en_ug_007.html#Voice_related_settings I hope this helps. Hi totokaura. It would be tricky as the only MIDI I/O is via USB cable. That means you'd have to involve either a computer in-between the MIDI Kick pedal and the FGDP, or something that can convert USB to 5-Pin DIN. The next tricky part would be getting a Kick pedal that sends MIDI without it having to go to a drum brain first. I think this instrument is going to be a fingers-only device. -_Daniel_
Was looking forward to this until I found out that you cannot make a pattern and just loop it like a drum machine. It's just a real-time song recorder.
I started out playing in my high school on a Yamaha RX15 back in the late 80s! I’ve been waiting for a product like this for a long time!

It has drum patterns , like 8 Beat, Disco, Samba ect. ?

Geez he's a finger drummer too? What can't Daniel do??!
I wish it had an input for an external kick drum controller,
Can the "PHONES/OUTPUT" signal level be configured as a "LINE OUT" ?
Hi Chris, I use the stereo PHONES/OUTPUT jack as a LINE OUT all the time.
No configuration needed.

Very fascinating really. With a drumset with pedals, you need to have 4 brains for the two hands and 2 feet. Finger drumming, just need 2 brains? Hmm
Technically you need 10 brains to account for all the fingers.
Can you make a video introducing the functions in the setup menu of fgdp 30 and fgdp 50?
Can you pan the toms left and right in the headphones on your interface?
Sadly no
Not sure why the 30 is even a product next to the 50. The Yamaha RY-10 has filled the portable niche for years. I still kick mine around.

Can we have the talking feature in yamaha FGDP-50 like yamaha FGDP-30?

Ok... and how many hours practice does it take for an average person to be able hit the pads so you sound like an actual decent drummer ??
Just practice. A few weeks
Watch video tutorials how drummers hook their kick and snares. Start with simple groove then make your variations
Is it possible to add an electric drum's bass pedal controller for fgdp 50?
I wanna play the bass drum with my feet, not my finger
