    Great review....
    Replaced aggressor rear w dissector 2.4 (peanut butter) w 2.5 assegai (jelly) front. Perfect combo, like a great PBJ sandwich. For the most part equal grip but with much better rolling resistance, even as compared to the aggressor and also dhr2 I used to run both.

    I personally went with a dissector for the rear and a assegai for the front

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@meliodashadeyoshi2115 we have road and climbs trails for most the trails here. nothing punchy on the climb trails really. but, i was slipping a bit and had to put my weight a little further back on the seat to get the Dissector to grip on the steeper part of the climbs.

      I've found the dissector is significantly faster at climbing as compared to both the dhr2, dhf and aggressor. I was kinda disappointed w the aggressors rolling resistance. Grippy dh but sluggish up, felt like I was riding in wet sand (as compared to dissector)

    I really like the 2.5 Dual Compound EXO Aggressor on the rear. I climb up all my trails before riding down and that tire will not spin out even on steep loose over trails even slamming through gears incorrectly as I often do in the wrong direction. Also makes your rear brake very controlled I can brake late with my rear only before going off a steep which would put me out of balance if I pulled the front brake in that situation as I am weighting the front to release over the descent before shifting my weight back. Have a 2.5 EXO DHF on the front which I don't think I am expirenced enough yet to get the most out of that tire as I am relunctant to really lean it over on loose flat corners and that leaves me in that transition zone where the tire doesn't bite. But I do think for Southern California this is the right combination of tire may try a Max Grip Compound in the future and get better and leaning the bike over.

      what’s up Larry! i’ve been riding the Specialized Purgatory rear on my Stumpy, similar i believe. soooo fast. i’m still running Maxxis on my DH race bike, some new stuff here on tires - th-cam.com/video/Mo2cf3Ju2H8/w-d-xo.html more reviews on the way. slap that subscribe please and thank you. Cascade Link / 2022 Enduro / tire updates in the works. it gets wet and slick up here near Tahoe. miss my Santa Barbara days 🤙🏻

    What compound are you running? I’m looking at the dual compound. My local shop has a couple and the rubber still feels very tacky.

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      maxx grip now, but i think it’s overkill for trail. enduro / racing good to go. i’m still a fan of maxx terra for trail.

      @@ShaneScrimager right on, thanks. I’m just looking for a little more cornering grip than my 3c max terra Rekon which is at the end of its usable life. At the same time, low rolling resistance is important because we don’t really have true downhill here. More quick ups and downs where maintaining speed is important.

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hop online and find one. i think a 2.6 would be a bit much for a rear. it may not even fit depending on your chainstay. super grip and stable at the expense of slow rolling.

      @@briangong007 there's one more at Xtreme Outfitters Grass Valley!!! 29x2.4 WT 3C MaxxTerra DD. agree, those open channels are a little too inviting for punctures... i got a slice right in the channel on Confluence Trail, but i may have caused that with a handful of rear brake slamming through the rocks!
