Wonderful video. This is a game I never knew or saw much about. It is really fun to see the whole game through your perspective and opinions. The game looks relatively good, but your conclusion is spot on. Combing through the historical part of this game was great. Learned some stuff too. The copy/pasted stuff seemed to spoil the game early. Interesting that this was the first game you wanted make a video for. Glad you got around to finish it and shared it here. Mindjack is a game that is alien to me to. Whatever you decide to do next, I'm excited to see. Take you time and have fun. You have a good one too!

This was an entertaining watch. I'm glad you didn't scrap it. I enjoyed this game for it's atmosphere at the time, particularly the indoor environments. Could have been something really good as you remarked throughout the video.

Glad you enjoyed it! It had potential, that's for sure, just never quite gets there.

You pretending to give benefit of the doubt and mischievously minimizing parts of a game, only to haymake us with some real Scary Movie "But wait, there's more" shit, never ceases to be funny XD Worth the setup everytime lol

Was this the video where I heard the expression "gumshoe detective" recently?
Id never heard it before and just think its catchy. Some cellar door ahhhh type stuff . I apparently somehow failed a basic search query, because I got nothing when I first looked it up, but Google is singing like a canary now. I deleted my comment asking what it meant after getting success on my second pass .
I'm still curious if this is where I heard it though! Your scripts have had some great diction, very good writing. It's been original and has had a lot of substance, while not being over the top or superfluous. Not excessively flowery or sophistic.
    Commendable skill man.

Checking my script, I don't think I did actually use the term gumshoe here (though it is a phrase I love as well) probably because this game really doesn't manage to get much of a noir vibe going on despite the subject matter.
As always I appreciate the comment and the kind words though! Don't forget to go vote on the next video by the way, the Coming Soon for that went up yesterday.

I got this game when it came out on Games With Gold half a decade ago. Because I'd just gotten my Xbox One, I didn't have many games to play - backwards compatibility wasn't as extensive as it is now. The result of this was me taking up achievement hunting.
I imagine I am one of very few who played this game more than once, and one of even fewer who has every achievement.
The only word I can use to describe this game is shovelware, even if it's the only instance of it's IP. The game world is smaller than some levels of games I've played, it somehow manages to look worse than plenty of 360/PS3 titles, and it's clear they never proofread their own story.
All that being said, I don't have it in me to hate this game. Is it the worst game I've ever played? Hands down, and I still have TWD: Survival Instinct on my 360 hard drive. Is it a glorified walking simulator with no gameplay to speak of, lacking even an engaging narrative to justify a player's time investment? You said as much.
But something makes me look at this game fondly, like acting impressed at a child's drawing despite it's incomprehensible subject. Maybe it's the atmosphere, the art designers were clearly trying. Maybe it's that the story had a genuinely good twist, albeit one with no narrative impact. Or maybe it bemuses me by it's sheer mediocrity.
Fuck who ever chose that scribble font for everything though, gives me a goddamn migraine.

I still can't believe they chose to use that font while also making 90% of the collectibles walls of text, it's just asking for trouble.

If it's schlock, it's on the list for a potential video. And that's a long list with a whole bunch of Square Enix games on it.
