I actually would be curious if the original modifier would have seen this and if they would have good or bad thoughts on it. I'm sure they have some great memories of that car (especially the back seat) and hated to see the shape it was in at the end, but I'm guessing that it'd be a bit bittersweet due to how much just better the car is now.

Doesn't even look like the same car! I love the color, the wheels, the front lip, EVERYTHING! The fact you kept the small defects to show the car's history and character speaks worlds of what the cars means to you. Marty, youre not trying to cover up T005XY's past, but exemplify it and show how far its come and I love it!

Oh my god, what a change for the better!
BUT I wanted to mention that those headlights will only last a month or a few, if you do not clear coat them or cover them in a special film, which was removed when polishing.

Joel Harris Lol Its not that easy. There is a lot of work in a 4WD conversion.
It's track only so options are limitless! Wouldn't be to hard to fab up a tunnel. especially with their resources, Would love to see this thing smokign from the rear tyres ahah

Nice to see someone playing around with the same car I drove right out of highschool! Funny thing is I had a sedan first with the 1.8 SOHC in manual and then ended up selling that and getting a black coupe with the 1.5 SOHC in manual. BIG difference in torque even with such similar sized engines, so I went turbo like this. Mostly junkyard parts and a tiny old saab turbo. It boosted real early but fell on it's face around 5000 rpm but it was such a blast of a car! I still have an entire Evo 8 front subframe with all bushings, rack, spindles, struts, brakes, lca's and the rear end and subframe assbly also lol. I had plans to turn it into a mini evo, but I never got around to it before it got smacked into by a truck. Cool episode though guys. Keep it up and I'll keep watching :]
Watching this inspires me for my car honestly, you saw a car with potential and you've proved it! Heaps good work on the girl Marty and it shows you can accomplish what you want if you're dedicated enough to do the work. Congrats to you mate !

You honestly don't have a clue than. Once in movement your won't create enough downforce to ''take away'' from the driving wheels, and in a corner, the action of braking will reload your front wheels with all the weight you need to steer.
You either never studied how unstable a FWD vehicule with no rear downforce is or just have this wierd idea where the front end (where all the engine/transmission weight is) will suddenly fly off because of a 2 inch high spoiler.
Let alone have him have fun 3 wheeling hard corners because the inside rear wheel decide to lift.
Fuck aerodynamics and stuff, it'd look so much better with a wing

I was happy to see that video, not only because that was what I wanted them to do, but also in a minor part because they kinda proved my point here.
This edit was only written seeing as some people have replied to my comment telling me to check that video, to avoid it happening again, since no one here bothers to read all the replies and rather prefer to keep adding something already said.
Also, I cannot believe a YEAR went by on this car, it didn't even feel like a month!

Would recommend a small wing, FWD track cars NEED some rear downforce, you dont want to slide and get snap oversteer trying to correct it.

that small wing is probably gonna cause drag - more problems than it will solve
you're entirely wrong. More grip will always outweigh that little bit of drag when you are circuit racing. Drag racing, maybe, but not actual track racing, you dont need maximum speed in a corner, you need grip first

logan thompson 50 grams of paint on a car with this power makes next to no difference in terms of track time, plus if weight was an issue why bother painting the calipers
oh and weighty window tint ;)
Because it's a lot cheaper, faster, easier etc, to do a closed door respray
quick tip, to make keeping plastic headlights clear easier, when polished, spray the headlights with clear coat, that way it takes longer to fade, and when it does you can use automotive polish that you use for your car

Come on, we're literally talking about two door sills. Not the boot, not the engine compartment, not the interior. Two door sills that would have made the job look a lot better if painted.

I have to say I own a 2006 Lancer Ralliart. Or known as Lancer VRX in Australia. A year a ago when 2sexy initially rolled up, I found myself offended, thinking here comes another Subaru owner to mock Mitsubishi's. A year later I can gladly say that I enjoyed watching the transformation that Marty has performed, I love the way the car turned out, and Marty has fully redeemed himself. Big thanks to Marty for restoring what is, in my eyes, not the best car, but still a dam good one. Thank you for taking that eye sore off the streets. That is not what we Mitsu owners are about.

I actually think it looks better with the white interior, contrast between the two colors when you open the door is great. And it's more practical aswell. Take it from someone who owns a trackcar that's black inside and out, you want it white inside as it keeps the temperature down on Sunny days.

If you put a little clear coat over the headlights after you polish them, it serves as a protectant so they dont scratch or oxidize as easily.
