I'm 66 years. I remember when the movie came out I used to rent it every chance I got and watched it with my girls, who were quite young at the time It's still one of my favorite movies, and the soundtrack is amazing.
Was my favorite movie as a child as i was obsessed with horses and it changed my life. Such a great cast and just so well done. Timeless and never get tired rewatching it.
I am 81, and have seen countless number of movies. 'Man from Snowy River' is perfection. My favorite still. 42 years! Cannot believe it. Sigrid and Tom look fantastic. So glad to have found this video. Thank you, TH-cam.
I am 63 and from Virginia in the US, I have seen this movie dozen times. If not more it is truly my top five I don’t know when I’m watching it. It’s probably my favorite.!!
I am 80 and both Snowy River movies are among my favorites. Thank heavens I have both on DVD. So glad to see Tom and Sigrid interviewed. And, yes, the music is spectacular... I often find myself humming the theme.
31 years ago my bride walked down the isle to Jessica’s Theme in Texas. The Man From Snowy River is part of the fabric of our lives and the soundtrack to our romance. It never gets old.
I loved this movie when it came out. I introduced that gorgeous piano composition to my young piano student - a fifth grader - who played it in a competition and won the top prize. It’s such an impressive piece.
I saw Snowy River when it first hit theaters here in the US. ITS still one of my top three favorite movies of all time!! Thank you Sigrid and Tom for creating such a moving and beautiful piece of art that continues it's effect on people after 40 years!❤
Bumped into Tom Burlinson when I was window dressing in Portmans, Brookvale, back in the day, he said hello to me, looked me right in the eye, I nearly fell over, lol, kept my cool and smiled, said hello back, made my day, thanks Tom!
I’m 79 yo and saw this movie all those 40+ years ago. I have it on VHS and CD so I’ve watched it numerous times. My kids grew up watching it and then my grandkids saw it when they came over. I haven’t played it for my greatgrands yet…all 6 of them are under 5 so I’ll save it for a while…LOL. BTW, I live in a small town just outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you for the lovely interview with the stars.
What a WONDERFUL interview with Ms Sigrid Thornton & Mr Tom Burlinson! This movie, The Man From Snowy River, is one of my all time favorites. Hard to believe it's been 40 years! Wore out my VHS copy of it and was thrilled to find the DVD version of it. Also wore out my cassette tape of the soundtrack. FABULOUS music!!
Noticed that Sigrid still has her signature dimples. [8.23] Wish I could afford to see the film and hear the orchestra! Besides the movie, A Walk To Remember, Man from Snowy River is one of my all-time favorite romance dramas!
I just watched it again - for the 500th time - thanks to my parents who showed me this movie as a young boy. I’m now 41 and this is still one of my favorite films of all time.
I fell in love with Sigrid Thornton when I saw this movie back in 1982. The soundtrack is definitely one of my all time favorites. I also liked Tom Burlinson in the movie Pharlap.
Aw gee, . .. you went and fixed it. Tahoe? Bronco? Rubicon Trail? I skied Tahoe area resorts & Mt Rose for so many years . .. . The younger years .....
Went to the movie in a movie theater with my future spouse back in the 1980s. We celebrate our 40th this coming year. The movie was phenomenal. The story was phenomenal. The music was phenomenal. And, yes, the movie and music are part of my favorites.
Really love both man from snowy river and return of man from snowy river. Love Sigrid and especially Tom. Never get tired of seeing these 2 movies and love the music. Got the 2 DVDs and CDs.
We cose this movie while undergoing Chemo Therapy at the Veterans Administration hospital in San Antonio , a film upon which we could all agree . Thank you for making it special !
this movie changed my direction in life and it's still my all-time favorite movie. My husband was a glazier (glass man) and was called out on a job and it happened to be someone involved in the music to this movie. My husband knows just how much that music moved me in this movie, he was all too happy to share with his client how much I loved this movie especially how the music played into it. That client was moved by my husband's words and at the end of the job, he came out and handed him the actual sheet music to Jessica's Theme and an autographed vinyl of the score. I consider these one of my most treasured items.
This movie was amazing and the music has lived with me all these decades. I went from cassette tape of it to DVD to CD and I still listen to the soundtrack after all these years.
Thank you for this interview. I loved seeing these actors 40 years later. I live in the U.S. but I would love to see the orchestrated movie . The movie is still one of the best.
my best friend and I went to see that movie when it showed in the states and absolutely loved it. when the sequel came out and Tom appeared on the screen I think we both sighed as he was all grown up, lol. love love love both movies.
I was a senior in high school desperate to NOT spend a Saturday night at home watching a movie with my parents! Since I was about to graduate my mom guilted me into staying long enough to watch it... never have I been so grateful for a mother's guilt! Even at that age, I was literally transfixed! From the story to the acting to the scenery to the music... especially the combination of music/scenery... it became my favorite movie then and remains my favorite to this day, 42 years later. I, too, tear up when the opening notes of "Jessica's Theme" hauntingly plays! So thanks for sharing this interview. About 10 minutes ago I found my CD case for the soundtrack and was looking for the missing CD when this literally appeared on my notifications. Much love to Sigrid and Tom for working to produce my favorite movie of all time!
I sure wish this orchestral experience would come to the U.S. I have loved this movie all my life. I first saw "Man from Snowy River" as an eleven year old, when it came to small-town U.S.A. I fell in love INSTANTLY!! I had been practically born on horseback, I spent countless hours riding the mountain ranges around my state, and I was completely enthralled by this movie. I'd never before seen an Australian saddle, but I sure did try to gallop down the mountainsides in my English-style endurance saddle! I entertained myself endlessly, riding along with my imaginary Jim Craig and Denny.
I saw The Man From Snowy River as a very young girl, I think I was 8! I’m nearly 49 now and I just finished another of my countless viewings of both the original and sequel. I adore them both and I would have given anything to see this live music presentation of the film. The score is stunning and both films are a part of my heart.
I was a little kid in Washington state when this movie came out. It was my first time hearing Australian accents. I was absolutely in love with Jessica. Loved the movie too.
This movie had the best soundtrack That I have heard. It was well done at the appropriate scenes. It was the best film that I have scene and best horsemanship. I cannot believe that there was a cameraman doing the same thing on the ride over the cliff. Give a shout-out to the person filming the brumby scene.
42 years ago that would have placed me at 31 years of age. Remembering watching this movie with my 2 daughters. I bought the VCR video a few years later and we made our popcorn and fell in love with the movie cried for the horse 🐎 that went down the mountains cheering holding our breath, cried when the horse was hurt. Great movie. Wish I had a DVD to have on hand. So glad to see these beautiful couple again. I am now 73 (9/28/23)
One of my all time favorite movies AND soundtracks! I saw it when it first came out in the theatres in the U. S. A. back in 1982, and I very much related to the young Jim's character. As the years passed, and I've grown so much older, I find myself, re-watching on an old DVD copy, that I relate very much more to Old Spur these days! Ha!
I smiled all the way through this interview, I LOVE the movie and I've watched it numerous times and will again. What lovely people Miss Thornton and Mr Burlinson are.
All time favorite movie and sound track. I learned to play the piano by ear, thanks to this movie! ...and got into horses because of this movie. It also inspired me in track and field in high school which lead to college track and scholarships. I probably still have both movies memorized. I am forever grateful for this perfect work of art!!!

My mom and I would watch it when I was 12 when it came out. My mom is gone now and I just watched it and know my mom Watched it with me. I will always love the movies they did together! Tom Burlinson, do you still ride? We did own horses when I was young but had to sell them when I was 19. I can still get on and fly!
One of my favourite films of all time - beautiful locations, great cast, wonderful music. A 'wholesome' film - perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Tom and Sigrid come across as genuinely lovely people. Always 'Jim' and 'Jessica' to me.😉🐎
Wow, must see if I can go when it comes to Adelaide. I was the same age as Sigrid and loved the movies (1 and 2) and the following TV series. The music was mesmerizing and like others, I wore out my VHS tape back then. 40 years ago - time flies.
I was so in love with him when the movie came out oh my God I was over the moon in love with him like a fairy tale that I dream of having a hero like him in romantic at the same time so good
