I remember the set up to their title match was pretty cool with Kev power bombing Bret through a table. This was in 95/96 so the table spot hadn’t been worn out yet and was probably one of the first times it was done on WWF tv.
Exactly. When Vince decided that Diesel should be a babyface, it killed his run before it even got started. It was slim pickings when it came to top heels that a babyface Diesel could have a money program with. But if he had been a heel during his year long title reign, then he’s got guys to work with like Bret, Razor, Taker, maybe Luger, HBK could’ve turned face sooner, Owen could’ve turned as well, and now you’ve got all these guys who are chasing a heel champion Diesel who should’ve been portrayed as the monster at the end of a dungeon who is protecting his gold. McMahon is a genius, no question, but sometimes he tries too often to piss against the wind. 1995 was a horrible year for the WWF, but with one simple change of keeping Diesel a heel, it didn’t have to be as bad as it was.
@@TheGingerExpress243 Remember the promo he did on Raw the night after Survivor Series 1995 when he lost the title to Bret? It was outstanding! I remember thinking “why couldn’t have Vince let the fans have THAT Diesel during his year long title reign?” Because that guy was money! Just let him be a take-no-prisoners ass kicker who refused to be a corporate stooge and would steamroll anyone who tried to take the belt away from him.
Dude Kev was awful. Couldn’t work and couldn’t cut a promo. His title reign almost killed the WWF. The Outsiders gimmick was great but Nash was bad in the role and hugely responsible for WCW being terrible as it went on (though this was as a booker, but still).
@@JoeGamer81 Diesel vs. Taker at WM is one of the best big man matches of all-time. And Bret vs. Diesel was always money. Kev COULD work, and are you insane that he couldn't cut a promo?? He lived on his ability to cut a promo in WCW.
The irony is the worst thing that could have happened to aew was vince selling the company. When he was still in charge, the wwe was in the toilet creatively speaking, which gave aew the window that it needed to burst out on the scenes. People were soo sick of vinces creative garbage at the time, that they were begging for an alternative wrestling program. But now that hhh is running the shows, wwe programming has gotten good again. aew is the company now in turmoil and tony khan is to blame just like Vince was to blame for the past 8 or 9 years of garbage wwe television. Tony khan just needs to step out of his own way and hire, former pro wrestlers, that have a really good mindset for the business and let it play out. Tony khan is the single biggest reason for aews problems right now. I mean hes made active wrestlers apart of the companies operations, which just screams drama and corruption. Why he thought that was a good idea boggles my mind and yet he's still doing it with guys like Daniel Bryan. He never learnt from the young bucks being all VP's mistake. Its dumb decisions like that is what's costing aew.

AEW was a wonderful opportunity for the likes of Arn and Cornette, with the right financial backing, to have more influence in guiding a pro wrestling show that would've been a true alternative to WWE. Shame what it's actually become.
Kevin Nash FKA Big Daddy Cool Diesel has had some of the cool entrance music and ring gear, I would’ve loved to see Kevin Nash/Diesel team up with the undertaker back in the 90’s/2000’s
