Seems a lot bigger than the population of just under 100,000. They have some of the nicest looking buildings with beautiful architecture that rivals even Chicago and Buffalo’s. It is one of the oldest cities in the United States from the original 13 colonies.
Agreed! The architecture on a lot of the old buildings built in the 1800’s is beautiful. The old D&H building, the State Education building, the Capital building and others are unrivaled.
Thanks. You showed most of the Albany I knew as a kid from the '40s on up! The so-called "Hood" was a thriving, safe, exciting place to grow up in--especially Green Street and St. John's Church area. Greatly different now after the South End Mall destroyed everything from Dove St. east to the river. Guess time marches on.
It's crazy how both buffalo and Albany are in "upstate ny" but look totally different and they have polar opposite vibes as well albany=nyc/new england buffalo/roc/nf= midwest vibes lol
Thought Arbor Hill not too bad, south End is horrible. Why wherever lot black in hood n town always terrible horrible dire dirty, ghetto. I can understand poor but why so dirty, people are wild break everything rob riot rip racist rant everybody, bigot bully Asian there make hood better but they turn around destroy beauty n gang up Asians like they're better than Asian more American. Yeah right. Ancient Asian Americans are natives of America, indigenous Indian Eskimo Hawaiian. Black n white are immigrants refugee slave invaders killer wagon peasants boat people. Hahahahah
Arbor hill is the hood downtown Albany u up town right of central it does get crazy up there was in the gas station at the chicken spot someone got hit in they neck yeah it’s wild alb turns up heavy.!
what parts of albany are good? Im a Physician...... I might have to be in Albany for a year to rent a apartment but I have to keep my house also down here in westchester... Thanks
@@Mrrobi02468 - Well, this is more than a few months old. However, I remember mentioning it because he drove the wrong way down a one way street in ALBANY.
Where? Most of the hood appears clean and well kept. There were a few decrepit boarded up buildings but most of these hoods are utopia compared to more destitute cities like Youngstown OH and Niagara Falls NY.
Let's take it a step further and seperate NYC from upstate so we can get away from you anti-gun, freedom hating libs. Believe me, upstate wants it to happen but your city wields way too much power. NYC is a true shithole.
It’s because with just the amount of people in NYC it’s unsafe for the governor to even walk outside alone In a place like Manhattan or Jamaica queens. Too many nutcases in NYC for that
ok i have not been to Albany since 2007 but i cant believe that nothing has changed, same buildings same landmarks even the same icebox and convenient store on the street facing the DMV..

That's funny the first major building they show is the Albany Housing Authority headquarters
Hope you do the Pennsylvania cities of Allentown, Harrisburg, York, and Chester. Those four cities have some rough scary neighborhoods.

All of the factories marched on and this is what’s left of a dying economy.
Wow I will feel like I'm at Home 🏡 look just like my naborhood here in Brooklyn NY with all the roll Houses and Trees.

Buffalo is called upstate ny but technically it's not. The correct term is west ny
@@tbogo39 true indeed the same goes for Rochester as well the 585!!
Buffalo and Rochester along with both Erie and Pittsburgh are four Midwestern cities located in two northeastern states.
Albany shares culture with NY/NE where Cuse/ROC/Buffalo share culture with Ohio
@@Mrrobi02468 whenever I tell people that theory you would think I had three heads lmao
South Albany is rough and the hood

Those clean and well kept hoods for the most part. You must not have ventured into Arbor Hill as of yet. That is the rough ghetto of Albany.
I love Albany. I've spent quite a bit of time out there.
I might be going there for work. Never been. Hopefully i can meet good people to socialize with. Any advice on places to not go to or avoid?

Please do the Pennsylvania cities of Allentown, Harrisburg, York, and Chester. Those four cities have many rough sketchy neighborhoods.
As a native Albanian the sudden cuts are pretty jarring lol. #teleportation
Haven’t been up too Albany since my college years back in the late 80’s & early 90’s. Mainly @ Suny Albany
I remember the mall downtown being nice
How was life back in the 80s
