The battle of Anaxes is extremely interesting. I'm glad we got to see it in the Clone Wars.
Now if we can get the battle of corosaunt as the series finale episode that would be awesome!

Coruscant will no doubt make it in, but it will not be series finale. Finale will most likely be Ashoka and Rex escaping order 66
So basically, _Anaxes_ is the Star Wars version of the _Battle of Stalingrad._ The turning point in the war halfway through, while also being the start of an aggressively offensive campaign.

I like history myself, though I don’t yet know much about Stalingrad and stuff like that, so whenever someone ever mentions a War’s “turning point,” I instinctively go to compare it to Midway, as I’m also a fan of the Navy.
So yeah, it seems you’re right, it’s more like Stalingrad than Midway in those regards that you explained. I’ll edit the comment to match your info here, if you don’t mind.
Although from an industrial standpoint Anaxes shares much with Stalingrad, there are key differences.
Stalingrad took place in the middle of WW2, while Anaxes was near the end of the CW. Also Anaxes was essentially a final grand offensive by the CIS in hopes of getting a "Hail Mary" or a quick defeat was inevitable.
From a militarily strategic standpoint, the 2nd battle of the Marne would be a more accurate comparison.

This is do or die for the Confederacy, they are being siege across the outer rim, and they are slowing lose ground across all ground, the Grand Army of the Republic is vast and more experience than the Droid Army, and the Jedi are fully hardened warriors and generals after three years of war. By all accounts the Confederacy need a major victory to turn the tides of the War, and that comes into this battle. This planet is the gate way to the Core, and if they win they may get breathing room for their droid army to take the offensive, but if the Republic holds the planet they will win the war only through time.
Only reason the cis lost was because palpatine. They wouldve won by pure numbers

I hope it sort of retcons the idea of Wolfe and Gregor and Rex being the only clones to disobey order 66, because come on Jesse and echo would’ve also known about and not to forget echos chip probably was damage by the explosion in the citadel

Is interesting to see how in the Outer Rim Sieges, an important battle develops in the Core, when is supposed that almost every Separatist armada has been forced to retreat back to their regions. If I'm not wrong, only two core region campaigns will develop in 19 BBY; Anaxes, of course, and eventually; Coruscant.
No mention of Fort Anaxes as shown in the asteroid ruins in Rebels?
Makes me wonder if Dave Filoni has decided to change the ending of episode 4 from the unfinished reels, where Anaxes was safe from destruction from the fusion reactor bomb. Just like in episode 1 where there was a small change in the plot: perhaps this time, episode 4 is going to show the destruction of Anaxes? 🤷♂️

S7 ep 1 & 2 were exactly the same in unfinished episodes years ago with minor changes. This arc was extremely important and cool to compare the finished episodes to the unfinished.

Amazing job yet again. I totally forgot that the story board episodes that were on StarWars .com as created when legends was canonical. While it’s great to see them updated. Still feel a little disappointed that all season 7 wasn’t new material.
