This Anime is SOO good, I seriously HATE that people dog it because of the false accusation and say it has "weak" characters. I seriously love the main three soo much, hate the Spear(definitely a lolicon too) and Myne.. Bitch and Trash. They seriously made me hate characters more than any Anime I've ever watched. Can't wait til she gets to see the Finale in a few weeks, I LOVE the ending so much, so glad we are getting 2 more seasons at a minimum

@@xmant8842 Then I will elaborate. In the 2nd or 3rd episode they set a good father daughter relationship between the shield hero and Raph. I personally thought it would of been more meaningful if it stayed that way instead of her becoming a love interest.

Honestly I think its fair to pay the ultimate price when you willingly sacrifice the lives of those you are sworn to protect, all for selfish gain
Myne got off easy, IMO.
Also Naofumi shows he didn’t learn his lesson from a few episodes back. He, once again, let’s an unrepentant villain live.

I really hope Myne never has redemption, she literally made false accusations against Naofumi.

At least in the real world the most serious consequence a wrongful accusation would have is imprisonment (and, in the US, being added to a registry). That said apparently it was a capital offense in Melromarc, and she did try to murder her sister, too, and pin that on him as well. Still, anyone can redeem themselves under the correct conditions, and I think it would be interesting if the story took that route.
Very satisfying indeed. I'm not mad that they changed this from the original version of the story, but it should be known that this was indeed changed. Naofumi, in anger, was the one who demanded that Myne be executed for her crimes. However, the queen told him that this couldn't happen, and instead offered the alternative of lifelong, horribly gory torture. The description of what the queen said could potentially happen is what brought Naofumi back to himself, and he instead proposed the name changes.
The Anime was much more epic tbh.
Yea this is mainly dont bc of tv censorship reasons. Due to the fact that this anime isn’t a mature rated anime like some others, they couldn’t have the main character do something seemingly evil like this. There’s no hold barred in manga and light novels but for broadcasting it had to be toned down

Nothing is more satisfying than getting a sweet revenge
I got the same vibe when I watched the execution scene, the way the Queen fidgeted with one hand concealed. If you had to kill 2/3s of you family, one would shortly kill themselves. And I deeply thought that had she signaled the execution and the guillotine fell she'd kill herself in short order.
At the end of the light novels there are little stories and adventures from other character POVs. Idk if the anime will plan to ever handle them but they might be worth checking out at some point.

In the WN & LN she did give him that p. Given this is the anime and that if follows the manga which follows the LN she probably give it to him in the anime too but they probably censored (avoided) that information to make it more presentable.

The word "satisfaction" doesn't even come close to describe the satisfaction we have for episode 21.

Personally, I disagree.
I find it more satisfying when the ppl that did horrible things have equally horrible things visited upon them more so than when the ppl that did horrible things have their name changed and then go on with their day.
They are still more punished, they are not free at all. But the Anime cuts a lot. Especially how 'crazy' the Queen really is...

i don't know how many people find about this but in 17:55 beside his lvl there is are a lot of Debuff indicators which of course because he's heavy beat up but as RPG enthusiast i really like that quality of details xD
Now, I want EVERY BIT of Shield Hero to get animated, but, it would be a great wrongness for the anime to stop before getting to the point when "we" can find out about why Aultcray hates the Shield Hero and demihumans so much. Like, it really, really matters, damn it.
@@TwilightWolf2508 Well, my guess is that, they won't be covering Aultcray history before Season 4, unless both Season 2 & 3 are going to be around 23-25 Episodes long.
Though, it would also depend on which Adaptation plot they would continuing from now.
I mean, the Anime Season 1 End plot, is actually based on the WN rather than the LN or Manga, because Naofumi doesn't get the Ownership of that Land, until two more Arc's in the LN & Manga, while in the WN he does get it after the next Arc, like the Anime.

While Melty's engagement to him is more a political one; it is heavily implied that Naofumi will eventually marry Raphtalia after all the crazy waves have ended and the world is at peace (pursuing love while the entire world is at risk of being destroyed is an accident waiting to happen)... in fact, at the end of Volume 22; he straight up asks Raphtalia if her name would be Raphtalia Iwatani if they got married... much to her embarrassment as she is able barely to call Naofumi by his first name (and not Master) even when Naofumi requests it, considering how close they have become
Don’t worry, Naofumi’s got plot armor, not as strong as Fairy Tail plot armor but still strong! :)))))))

The Shield will get his match in the future and by match I mean someone who counters a shield.

Not really. But there is some weight to what you say.
The funniest part is that the Pope probably could have cleaned all their clocks if he'd been willing to use the Shield form of his weapon, rather than burning enormous amounts of mana from the congregation on barrier and resistance spells.
Despite the changes from the LN, I like what the queen pulls here. Her sentencing then to the guillotine is a powerful statement to the public that even the throne has to answer to the law, and Naofumi gets to look like the merciful hero. Still a risk on her part though, historically speaking, NOBODY is more accursed or despised than a kinslayer.
There are not "other shield heroes" around. There arw only EVER the 4 Cardinal Heroes summoned in a set pack. They are SUPPOSED to be shared across the lands and not all together. There have been OTHER shield heroes summoned in previous groups that somehow (cough cough) sparked the King Consort's rage at his Family's undoing, but that was not THIS crew.
After blood sacrifice there is a more powerfull attack megiddo burst, unfortunate Naofumi never used it because it was to dangerous

That's not really justice. It would sate the anger of the other nations but not Naofumi. Curse series is the opposite of gone and what Naofumi's girls did to get his consciousness back could very well be temporary. Naofumi still hates the world subconsciously. The only way to stop him from burning the world to Ashes is to prove him that the world isn't as bad as he thinks. That's the best they can. If he decides that the world isn't worth saving, at least Silvelt is going to support him on his journey of Parusia.

This episode is one of the most satisfying in any anime I have watched. I kinda disliked that Naofumi decided not to have them executed, but in another light, I think that's okay, so they'll suffer for the rest of their lives to what Myne and Kingd did to Naofumi.
The English dub is as good if not better IMHO.

Like I hate what she's done since episode 1, but at the end of the day you can probably blame part of it on how she's been raised and that she's still young and thinks the world revolve around her.
Her father though, he's the king, he's an adult, he should act like it. He already made up his mind on the role of the shield hero before he even got there. Like why did they even summon all 4 instead of summoning everyone but the shield hero if they never wanted him to begin with?
