    How do the SQ cabin crewmembers look so fresh and immaculate after such a long flight?! Our grandmas on AA and UA all look pretty disheveled, and that's at boarding.

      Most Asian cultures still encourage girls to take care of themselves, present themselves well, and provide warm and attentive customer service. Yeah, the opposite of what is seen in the west. That's why more and more western men are ditching the fat old hags with attitude in the west and finding warm hearts in Asia.

    Took the flight back in the day 2006 when the route used the A340-500. Singapore Airlines, a great way to fly.

    As much as I love SQ business class I am not fond of its seats. sleeping diagonally is kinda lame. However I kept finding myself going back to fly SQ business class for its quality. It's behind QATAR but the pricing wise is very good.

    Thanks for sharing. I liked your seat allocation in Premium Economy. I recently flew the same class on SQ from SIN to BNE, but had one of the four seats in the central section. I think I'd prefer the bulkhead row next time. This seemed a very long flight and by all accounts, you seemed to enjoy it. Happy travelling !!

  • @donl5941

    Very nicely done Mark. Thank you. I often take SQ25 and SQ26 between JFK and SIN via Frankfurt. Yes they are long but SQ is the best carrier to use. I'll look into the SQ22 option depending on whether they add my local airport to it's partner list. Right now it's only via JFK. It may be worthwhile to do a one-way car rental to EWR... Thanks again.

    Is it the NYC, Newark or Elizabeth skyline?

    • @rominn2184
      @rominn2184 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      ^ Even though it's dark out, if you're from NYC or lived there long enough, you know what to look for and you're able to distinguish Manhattan from the rest of the Metropolitan Area. Of course, New Jersey lights up plenty, especially the city of Newark, but nothing shines more brilliantly than NYC itself. If you know what you're looking at, the lights of Times Square are immediately noticeable. You can tell what color the Empire State Building is that night. When your flight landing at EWR is approaching from the north like this one is, you won't see the skyline of Newark because you're approaching it head on and are flying right over it for the most part before final approach at EWR. Also, this video is taken out the left side of the plane looking east, so even if the plane was flying slightly east of downtown Newark (which is Harrison or Kearny where the flightpath is concerned), you would not see Newark's main tall buildings out that side of the plane. But that IS the better side of the plane to be looking out because you get that spectacular view of Manhattan as you come in to land.

    This seat is just in front of the toilet. Did you have any issues with people queuing up next to you to use the wash room during the flight?

    • @MarkRodel
      @MarkRodel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      msbrownbeast my seat 42C is not next to the lavatory. Behind my seat was like a compartment, then few steps from it was the lavatory (near the galley). I did not experience people queuing up next to me. The seat that is directly in front of the toilet is 42H (right side of plane).

    Does 42C have limited recline compared to 40 and 41?

    • @MarkRodel
      @MarkRodel  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      SeditiousOrange My seat to NY was 42C; back to SG was 40H. Both had the same recline. Personally I prefer 42C - no distraction from constant lavatory flushing, and there’s some added privacy.

    Should have watch your vid earlier as I were in doubt whether to fly Pre Eco or Biz for SQ SIN-LAX-SIN on same A350 ULR.. from the vid, your seat on Pre Eco wasn’t bad though.. I think I could bare 15 hours SIN-LAX on Pre Eco but LAX-SIN 18 hours, I wasn’t sure.. anyway, to fly long haul biz with SIA was one of bucket lists & I got good price for it, so I booked mine for Jan 19... should have book SIN-LAX on Pre Eco only then LAX-SIN on Biz... wuwuuwu

    • @MarkRodel
      @MarkRodel  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The solo seats at the back were more than suitable for this ultra long flight. I can extend my legs without having to worry about my seatmate. Hehe. Anyways, you still made a good decision of purchasing business class! I wish to do the same in the future.
