Yeah but definitely worth it - you would have been racing to get it out quicker than Sam Chui and the other TH-camrs on board and you beat them all! Now you can sit back, relax and the enjoy the next fight!
Great video, as usual. I have a sad story from the previous incarnation of this nonstop flight. I was a limo driver and picked up a woman at Newark who had just flown in nonstop from Singapore. On the way to her hotel she called home to Singapore and found out that a close family member had died unexpectedly. She called the airline, booked a seat, had me turn around, and got back on the SAME PLANE to fly nonstop Back home to Singapore. 36 or so hours in the air, with just a few hours in Newark in between flights. I felt so bad for her.
I credit Jeb for getting me over a lifelong fear of flying. I’m 65 and two years ago I went to Norway. I had not been on a flight in 19 years! By watching Jebs videos before I left, I cured myself. I had absolutely no qualms on my over seven hours flight from Newark to Oslo and then home again
I watch TH-cam plans crash/problem videos. I like the ones where people get sucked out or takeoff/landings go wrong. They are just what they doctor ordered. Makes you feel alive.
I like the fact that you’re grateful and show gratitude for having such an experience, unlike some entitled people (whom were on your flight) who expect nothing but 5 diamond service ALL THE TIME. Some people never get to leave their home town and see the world, much less to do it in first (business) class style! That seat looks very comfortable and with exception of the canapé’s, the food looked AMAZING! Hope you enjoyed your flight. I give your review a thumbs up and pray one day I get to experience it. Who knows, maybe when HAL gets their 789’s, I’ll get to fly to LHR from HNL! Aloha
At the gate you have the people flying it to fly the first route, then you have gramma and grampa who just wanted to get to Singapore for vacation and are confused by all the press
This is actually the re-inagural flight. They started this flight back in 2004 using the A350, which I flew in executive economy. Great flight, only carried 120 passengers. A must for any aviation geek.
Great video Jeb. You do really nice work! On a funny note, I particularly like the "screen art" at 14:42 on the in flight entertainment screen second from the left! Doh!
Great review! I have flown this flight 3 times and am flying it again in February 2020. If you reserve the BULKHEAD Business Class seat, there is an additional 4" legroom with no awkward right turn!
Ha it’s cool that you can stay up for 3-4 hours go to bed for 5 and still wake up with a ton of time left to enjoy more sights of the world That’s how it should be
Wow what a flight! I’m leaving for Shanghai, China on Wednesday and getting myself mentally prepared for the long 17 hour flight from Chicago. This video was great!
The 787 is way better then the A350, not only did Airbus rip off the nose design but other then the engines and nose there isnt that much to say about it (its made of carbon fiber but the 787 beat it to that as well)
The A350 has a higher percentage of composite materials in its making, and its nose is actually much closer to the A380 nose design than the one of the 787.
I flew JFK-BKK in 2006 when Thai had the flight. Very similar route. Took off at noon and because I did it in July, the entire flight was in full sunlight. Because we were above the arctic circle before sunset and slipped over the top of the Earth for morning in Asia. It was so neat.
I was not a fan of Airbus. Didn't like the airbus at first. But was not until I watched the documentaries and the Lufthansa A350 pliotseye documentary that I changed my mind. pilotseye.tv/en/route/en-boston-a350-lufthansas-next-topmodel/
The A350 is the template of future travel for me. The 787 just isn't as comfortable. More rattly in the cabin. I've flown the A350 a few times and, along with the A380, I think they're hands down the smoothest most comfortable planes. We took off from SIN enroute to DOH on Qatar & I barely even felt the plane leave the ground or any jolting on the acceleration, the take-off was exquisitely smooth, much like A380 take offs. I've rarely found 787 take offs to be like that (on a number of operators,Saudia,AirEuropa,Kenyan,BA,Qatar etc). The A350 is fabulous.
No, you're not the only one....it already grew on me....this plane is freaking sexy......I like the curved nose, windshield and the wingtip.....this 350 is gonna put Boeing on its toes

I take this all the time when i fly from here in Japan to my hometown San Antonio. Stay safe.😄✌️🗾😷
Hey Jeb. Thank you for your immensely enjoyable review of this flight. You and other reviewers such as Sam and Dennis really know how to entice people to commit to challenge themselves to long flights. Having flown fro Australia to the UK and back on their direct flights, I can tell you, man , am I tempted to do a quick Melb. to Singapore flight and then do the jump to NY. Luckily, I have family in Memphis, Tennessee and I know I WILL!
I have followed Sam’s channel for a long time, imagine my surprise when I see him pop up on one of your videos. You both create great content. I have been following Sam lately as he is learning to be a pilot himself, and his videos have a little more technical focus, but I like yours from the standpoint of a traveler.
What i like from Sam video is he can even go to the cockpit and have a word from the Pilots...lol...he's really an Airline babe!!!...and you have a different style of coverage too...good job...
Jeb, This is my first time here and I gotta say your video was quite enjoyable. I wouldn't want to be the one doing all the editing, it's time- consuming as hell. Trimming this video down to 18:38 took a lot of time and stress, you've given us plenty of your precious time, just to say the least. I've only given you a thumbs up because I'm not sure how long it's going to be before I find this channel again. I thoroughly wish I could have been on the flight, that's the only way I could have enjoyed it more. Thank's so much for sharing. BTW, I can't think of one thing to improve on what you've accomplished here, nice work (play) lol. Cheers.

What I would give to have one AMAZZZZZING trip or FLIGHT such as you. I'm jealous. Yet, I know how grateful and truly thankful you are. And thank you for allowing me to share many of your experiences.
Jeb, great video as always! At 11:29, the Captain mentioned about flying near 87 deg north latitude. That reminded me of a regulation I had read earlier in my Airline Transport Pilot written exam prep book. 14 CFR Part 121.7: The FAA requires U.S. operators to obtain approval prior to conducting polar operations (a) The North Pole area of operations includes the entire area north of 78 deg N latitude or the entire area south of 60 deg S latitude. Of course Singapore Airlines isn’t operating under the FAA but I found it funny that I had just read that regulation and then watched your video where the crew actually mentioned flying in a polar area! I’m easily amused!
Great video! When I travel to my location, I hate stopping for hours to transfer. I love non stop flights. Been to Singapore many times, never in a 350 and definitely always economy 😁
This cabin is what people from the 1940s would have imagined commercial air travel to be. Perfectly modern, luxurious, not cramped. And great service on a truly beautiful airplane
I used to fly from Taipei, Taiwan to Dallas in the late 1990's.. It required a stop in LA and the trip was about 15 hours going to Dallas and the longest return trip I ever had was about 18 hours. The total travel time was usually 20 to 23 hours with a layover. I made about 12 of these trips during the 2 1/2 years I lived in Taipei and all but one was on Singapore Air. My favorite airline in the region. The A350 looks great.
Nice job, Jeb!! It's very cool that you got to be on that flight. I just have one critique on this video: the volume is very irregular at times, especially in the first half of the video. In the future, consider maintaining a more consistent volume when editing, so the sound doesn't go from very loud to very soft! All in all, great job and I enjoyed the footage. All the TH-camrs like to say: "Just like that, the world has become a smaller place", and that's true! :-)
I have flown from Dubai to Houston which is about 16 hours both business and coach class. Coach class was excruciatingly painful to sit in and just endure. Business class is THE way to go. I would love to take this flight some day!
I have yet to board an A350, but I have flown Singapore Airlines (B777) and it was outstanding, from the service to the food to the comfort. I wish you had mentioned something about Changi Airport, one of the best international airports on the planet. My trip was from Atlanta to Surabaya, Indonesia. Unfortunately it was not non-stop and took over 30 hours. From ATL-NY-Paris-Moscow-Singapore-Surabaya. I boarded the Singapore Airlines flight in Moscow and it was the best leg of the flight. Thanks for the upload!
It looked like when the arff truck was doing the water cannon salute it had both turrets running. One on the roof and the other is a bumper mounted turret. It looked like the one on the roof was straight and the bumper turret was being moved around. Awesome video as always, can’t wait for more once the rona allows us to travel again. I’ve already been pricing out my first international flight to go to Dublin next summer!
Well done, Jeb. I've flown Singapore Airlines all over the place and -- I really cringe to confess this -- it beats Emirates in my mind by the very narrowest of margins. And, curiously, I've embarked aboard SQ from the US in both eastbound and westbound directions -- Houston to Moscow and Los Angeles to Tokyo. I once tried out Premium Economy on a Singapore A380 from Shanghai to Changi, but -- having been spoiled all the way around the world in business and first (okay, I suffered in an Emirates Suite from Moscow through Dubai to Shanghai) -- I didn't find PE extremely comfortable. It was really nice to have a bed on the outbound overnighter to Moscow, and by the time it was time to return to the 'States, I was almost too delirious to really notice my Business blessing. However, it was nice to be back in business class for those "Pay The Piper" segments all the way from Singapore to LAX in one day. This was before the A350 nonstops were initiated from the West Coast, so they happened aboard another SQ A380: six hours from Changi to Narita, a two-hour layover in the terminal, then ten and a half more hours back to LAX. Next time I'll probably take the nonstop between LA and Singapore, but for one segment I'll definitely take either SQ1 or SQ2, the Triple-Seven nonstops between San Francisco and Hong Kong. After all, no trip to Asia is worth its chopsticks without a few days in HKG. Keep up the good work in your distinguished Southern Gentleman-style, JB! (BTW, I responded to a Thanks For Following Us text from your place of employment and, responding, told them, "I want to go flying with Jeb! Please tell him." They responded with an LOL and a promise they would. I'm believing they did pass along my message! You can always pop by Birmingham anytime you want and add me to the manifest for a Southern Gentlemen Times Two flight to everywhere. Cheers!)
I'm flying SIN-EWR in January. I could of gotten the same price to SFO (where I'm going), but I decided to fly SIN-EWR and double back! I see TPG Zach Honig was on board as well.
I know any somewhat sane person would have happily donated that money to charity to help those who cannot even eat, whereas this d**hbag sits here flexing all his stuff. Would not be surprised if he is in debt, does not have that many subscribers. Per 1 million views (this video has around that many), youtube pays $300-400 USD. Good luck to him for paying back that $5000 seat along with his $10000 Rolex. FYI to him, get an apple watch (if even that) and the watch automatically adjusts the time for you! Even that is pretty expensive, but still 20x cheaper than that Rolex.
There was a time in my life when I hated business class because I couldn’t fly it. Hated walking through the plane and seeing those seats and going to economy. But now I’ve graduated to J I get so excited seeing these videos as I can actually try them out. Can’t wait for BA’s new suites, these are not on the route I fly, wish they were! Love your Batman, I heard today it’s been discontinued so good for you that’s something to hold on to.
So I have an interesting story to tell you. So my friend flew on SQ21 way back when it was operated on the A340-500, and when like 20 minutes after takeoff, one of the engines stopped working and they had to dump all of the fuel over Albany, New York then had to return to Newark due to the engine failure

The A350 is the most beautiful plane built probably since either Concorde or the original 747, whichever which you prefer.
A340-600
Great video keep up the great work
3:58 *THREE* "three!?" LOOOL
It looked like when the arff truck was doing the water cannon salute it had both turrets running. One on the roof and the other is a bumper mounted turret. It looked like the one on the roof was straight and the bumper turret was being moved around. Awesome video as always, can’t wait for more once the rona allows us to travel again. I’ve already been pricing out my first international flight to go to Dublin next summer!
Great Video!
I would recommend not fast-forwarding the take-off as it is such an incredible feeling to hear those engines roar.
Nice video, nice flight. No economy - No sale. Thank you.
I think 6:05 was just an opportunity to flex on all of us who can't afford this awesomeness
Omg both of my favorite TH-camrs on the same flight 🌝
When you’re so early it’s unlisted
Hatera hahahaha
You did a remarkable job with this video, loved your presentation of the food, entertainment and pics of the aircraft prior to boarding.
14:41 xD
Airbus A380 ya haha just noticed that!
😂😂😂
okay teacher here's my art drawing of a *PINGAS*
HAHA what a hell! laughed hard
LOL
How long did the dump take (lmao that sounds dodgy)?
She said about 2 hours
Yooooooo
Scary moment!!!
Shouldn't have dumped it but fueled some fighter jets or tankers with it ! Don't tell me that facility was not onboard !
Your cinematography is top notch! Great work especially with the smooth, steady external shots!
A350 ULR is great aircraft thanks AIRBUS
Those flight attendant dresses are beautiful. So much attention to detail.
At 2:10, there's the guy in the Wall Street Journal video!
A big thumbs up, a great video, I really wish I was there on that flight keep it up : )
