    Should have included here when talking about capacity the scams, and clearly state any battery claiming to be more than 3500/3600mAh is a scam.
    And a mention on the weight, high density batteries (3000-3600mAh) tend to weigh 45g up to about 48g.
    Some of the batteries on Amazon and eBay state capacities of 9000mAH and 9999mAh - these are SCAMS.

    Thanks for making this video and learning us about 18650 batteries. The first time i came across 18650 batteries was when i was vaping. I saw many 18650 batteries with flat button tops and batteries with button top some of my vape devices pushed the button top inside the battery which damaged the battery untill i could not charge them properly. So now i know there are two types of 18650 batteries. The last buttontop 18650 battery i purchased is the Ansmann 18650 with 3350 mAh for my XHDATA D808 radio. It came with a 2000 mAh XHDATA battery but i replaced it with a Ansmann 18650 mAh 3350mAh one so that i could listen to my radio longer without USB-C charging! Thanks for sharing Tenergy Official!

    It's so hard to find a Legit 18650, and the most legit ones I've seen are like 50x the cost of the fake ones. I've seen some cheap ones that may actually be legit like Samsung INRs

    How do you check remaining charge in a 18650. I have a multimeter, and can see a voltage of 3.7 or so. But how do you determine how close you are to the voltage dropping enough to stop working?

    • @TheTenergybattery
      @TheTenergybattery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For Li-ion batteries, when the voltage gets around 2.8-3.0V, the batteries need to be recharged.

      Hi Adeyemi, the chart outlines the max discharge current for each battery, these are safe levels. To find the runtime at this rate, you can divide the max discharge rate by the batteries' capacity. The chart already outlines the safe max discharge current for each battery. If you have more questions feel free to reach out to us at service@tenergy.com.

    I have a mosquito swatter that uses a 1200 mAh 18650 and deploys 6 UV LEDs for an Automatic mode that drains the battery approximately in 30 minutes. Hence one has to keep an USB charger connected to it for a continuous duty (say, overnight) in the Automatic (UV) mode. The battery is intended to be charged with a 5V, 1A DC input. Can Fast Charger ruin such batteries? Can I use any multiport USB wall charger that outputs 1A as charging current for this device? Does a 2A charging current harm the battery?

    Good video, but I am still tortured trying to buy replacement cells for my camera gimbal. The factory batteries are garbage and don't last, but the fit is critical and everything I have ordered online is a hair too short to fit. The factory batteries are flat top, but the flat top protrudes and the batteries stack inside the handle. Everything I buy seems the same length, but falls out of the gimbal's handle, which is side loading, not end loading like a flashlight.

    Bravo, very good info but it is still tough to determine the differences in the what you call PCB cell versions (BMS internal circuitry) to those without. We are still in the Wild West when it comes to specs and capacity is a gamble with so much exaggeration. You almost have to get sample cells and test them for capacity. I got off on the 26650 cells and find that most have less capacity than the 18650 cells plus the Hype about capacity say that some are 12,000 mAh when they are ! 1000 mAh. Are there vendors that fully states the true capacities and whether they are raw cells or PCB type cells? Thank You.

    Is it normal for the battery to feel slightly warm when charging? For example, I have Sony VTC6 3000mAh 18650 batteries being charged with a Liitokala Lii-600 charger, and the charging current is set to 2.5A. The batteries feel slightly warm during charging, and this happens with all the authentic Sony VTC6 batteries I have (10 batteries). Is this normal? What is the normal temperature during charging?

      Greetings Karanzaberni, it's normal for batteries to get warm while charging. For your Sony VTC6 18650 battery, it can reach 140°F during charging and still be within normal range (we suggest confirming with Sony for the battery's specifications).

    Everybody put emphasis on only one thing: capacity in mAh as if it's all that matters, smh. There are low drain devices and high drain ones, those two factors will determine what battery is right for you, bigger mAh doesn't always mean all as higher mAh ratings usually come at a cost of CDR continuous discharge current compared to the lower mAh ones.
