    You sound like me - scared of everything and getting hurt. I think that’s partly why gymnastics fascinates me because it looks so terrifyingly amazing! I was even scared of cartwheels but did them last night on my own and feel so much better about them! I’ll be going to my first adult class next week 🤸‍♀️

    I'm a late beginner gymnast too! I started at 12 years old, now I'm 13 and I can really say that gymnastics is very different from other sports I did and also very hard to do

    I have been wanting to pick up gymnastics for a while now, I used to do it as a kid but never really got good. I kind of dropped out when my best friend did. But I have been so paranoid about signing up because I am constantly getting injured or having body aches without even trying (I am also 30 now). Which by the way I am in the US and also struggle to find adult gymnastic classes. Anyway, I decided to search for adults picking up gymnastics to hear their experiences in hopes to motivate myself to do it. But I have also been on a mission to get my first pull up after realizing assisted pull ups were doing nothing for me. I watched a video this morning by Lift With Sarah on how to get your first pull up. And whilst watching your videos on gymnastics I glanced down at your thumbnail photo and realized I saw you this morning in the comment section of the Lift With Sarah video. I don't know why that was just so awesome to me. Such a small internet world. Sorry I thought that might've been interesting to share but maybe it wasn't. lol

      @@NotVeee hi Oh that was awesome to share! Yeh I love pull-ups and am currently trying to get my 20kg pull-up and get 15 pull-ups in a row by the end of the year! I love watching other creators like Sarah for inspiration for my little channel. But yes pull-ups were my first love and I made videos on them too. I hope you get your first pull-up, good luck!
      With regards to gymnastics, as you know I feel the same about injuring myself. I hope you go for it if you feel you can and if there’s no adult gymnastics places where you are, try do a few things at your local gym or the park. You can always work on your flexibility, handstands, walkovers, rolypolys etc. maybe even get. A friend to spot you if you’re scared to try. Hope you manage to give it a go! The fact you’ve done it as a kid should help!

    I've just impressed myself by doing a forward and backward roll on the lounge floor - blimey, it's been years since I've done that! Glad you're enjoying the gym, feel the fear … etc, etc, _bravo, continue comme ça._ Ever thought about trying tight-rope walking? Watched a doc last night called _Man on Wire_ about Philippe Petit wire-walking between New Yorks' Twin Towers. Now there's a man who took 'doing it anyway' to several completely new levels. Oh… and well done on the 7km pb.👏

      Thank you and yes I tried tied rope walking ( well slack line walking between 2 trees) a few years ago. Well done on your rolls! And also I think I’ve watched that doc or at least heard of the man that did that!

    I'm used to do parkour when i was a teen (im 30 now too) and also used to do some acrobatics, right now i'm kind of in the same boat like you but my physical shape is just terrible now so i've started to improve on that. I am also hard struggling to find gyms in Madrid, i never thought gymnastics were this rare
    I wish you the best of lucks as learning new things in gymnastics can take up months/years but the achievment feeling is just great
    Fun fact: i never learnt how to do backhand spring because it felt way more scarier than backflip
    Fun fact2: Backflip is the easiest basic flip but also the most scary one

      Wish you the best of luck too and hope a you can get back to doing what you love! Also yesss I’ve heard the backflip is easier to learn than handspring so I may ask to change and learn that first!

    I'll be 40 in 3 months. Last month I committed to trying an adult gymnastics class. I want to have better movement and control of my body and be able to balance myself better. I stopped most weight training and have been doing calisthenics. First front flip on the trampoline, landed on my butt and felt the crunch and pain in my lower back 🤬. To be fair and honest, I've had back problems since high school. I kept on through the class and the pain wasn't too bad after a few minutes but weeks later I had pain in the same spot at work. Visited the doctor, did some PT but the pain only lasted the first couple days after re-injury. Doing 3 days of aquatic strength exercise, 2 days calisthenics and gymnastics ring work at home and work, with active rest days. Hoping I can re-try the gymnastics class starting next year after making sure I've strengthened my back more. It's fun to jump around and be able to move freely. We shall see. Your videos are awesome and gives great feedback.

    For adults, a back and front tuck will be a lot easier than front or back walkover. I have been in an adult class for 1.5 years and front tuck was the first thing I learned. Just got a decent back tuck and we're trying to make it actually good. Made zero walkover progress 😅

    • @JadesFitnessBucketList
      @JadesFitnessBucketList  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MsSunnyMuffins ah Im an adult and for me walkovers are much easier than any moved requiring speed and momentum like front tucks.
      I think it’s more a case of flexibility ( more will mean front and back walkovers are more doable) and how scared one is ( I’m scared so running with speed even off a trampoline to do a front tuck is terrifying for me!)

      It’s dependent on the person I can do the splits quite easily but shoulder flexibility is hard for me for example
