Yeah I think that would have been the right way to handle it instead of just yanking June's job out from under her. But then again June didn't even seem like she wanted to be there.
June didn't even seem like she wanted to be there until she started crying in the end but that's just because rejection is tough no matter what and she took it way too personally. Yachting is always about temporary positions. June's so spacey until she gets confronted.

Captain Sandy should have given June a heads up about what could be happening, possibly very soon. However, June should have handled her dismissal in a much more mature way.

June needed to be outstanding and impress Captain Sandy and her fellow crew members. If she had, she could of potentially stolen Anastasia's 3rd Stew position. Instead she worked, spoke and acted like a wet paper bag. Who'd employ that?
She did do her job.she never once got in trouble for doing her job wrong.She only got in trouble for not answering her radio. Anastasia should not have job to fall back on when she took on another position.

Throw in that even Captain had an issue with the walkie tallie, she was lucky to be kept as long as she was. That's customer service for dummies, it would have been ridiculous for her to be kept.

"Do not let the boat burn" is not usually something I mention in exactly those words during my pre-underway briefing, but...not a bad idea. Note to self: mention that principle when discussing crew resource management.

4 P I agree. I think since he got to see how he was acting he learned from it and now wants to mature and grow in life. I was so hoping Hannah and him would of maybe had something. But nope. He would b a good friend to have now since he grown from last year. We all deserve a second chance we'll on something's and I beleive he wanted us viewers to give him one which granted he earned. Now he got a big opportunity thanks to his hard work with cptain Sandy and is going to b able to make his mother who went through lots proud.

The only real problem with June was her aversion to the radio. She did do her work. Sandy should have told her upfront the position was temporary. Jack should have been the one to go since he really does not want to work. June could have moved to the deck crew. The upside is that Ben is coming back.
I think the more pressing problem with her was she was willing to let the pan burn down the kitchen. She never seem liked she wanted to be there anyway. So disengaged and disconnected. Not much common sense.

I've actually met June Foster a month or two ago at my job in Walmart. We were actually having a good conversation and man she is gorgeous 😍 I had no idea she was famous lol. I just found this out

What sucks about the firing is that it should've been made absolutely clear to June at the outset that the job was charter to charter, and the most they could guarantee her was two charters. Or one full charter with tips and a second charter with pay even if she had to go home so Egotistical Not-a-Chef could revert to third stew. June seemed shocked. Truly unprepared for the eventuality. I'd like to know what Sandy told her when she asked her to come on board. Or was it someone else who initially fkd up? Even if someone other than Capt. Sandy recruited June, Capt. Sandy should've made the situation fully clear from the first moment she met June.
The first thing captain said was why she was hired, June said “yeah”.

That whole catastrophe was the captain's responsibility. You be upfront. I guess she couldn't have forseen Anastasia's backing up. Things were great when Anastasia's cooking worked out but when she flubbed it up, she went crawling back to stewardess and threw everything out of whack. Anastasia got a little too big for her britches.

FIRST RULE IS TO seek to UNDERSTAND.
Captain Sandy was not being 100% forth coming with her.
Anastasia was the one who had to go. The CHEF'S position was redundant.
Because of the negative reports from Hannah and Sansy herself on June's work ethic, Sandy decided to transfer Anastasia to the other department because she was the better employee.
If this was clearly communicated to her she would have seen it was due to her poor efforts and defying authority in a passive way. This would have removed June's leverage towards Sandy.
People want the truth when being released, not some half-story. It is condescending to their intelligence.
If June did make an effort to be there and wanted to stay, she would have been the best Stew they had ever seen and Sandy may have had a very difficult decision to make.
Being clear to the thought process teaches the employee and gains their respect.
June wouldn't have been as disgruntled.

June was absolutely right, you don't make people redundant when you called them in to help you out when you needed the support. Sandy should have got on to yachting services and told them to find the money in the budget to create a role for her or an immediate transfer onto another vessel. She says it's 'just business', but she's not considering that June might share her story with 20 cream of the crop stews that will be prejudiced against working for Sandy or the company in future, and that will impact on the quality of staff she can obtain, which in turn will dilute the quality of the guest experience. That's business.

I love below deck med and also below deck, I have a question that I am hoping someone can answer, Captain Sandy always is in the Mediterranean and Captain Lee is in other locations, is there a reason for this, thank you
I think Captain Lee prefers to be in the Caribbean where he is closer to his very large family and his lovely wife. Hopefully they will rebuild on some of the islands and he can get back closer to home. But I did love seeing them in the South Pacific.
I would really like to see these super yachts actually sail out in open water.This whole "oh,the water is choppy here,so we're gonna move two feet over there" is 🐂💩❗Not worth the price imo.

The only reason I will agree is that she never outright demands authority. Even nicely asking Travis to call her captain. Captain lee is called that at all times. It's insulting and she seems more bothered about big liked by her crew. I don't think she made any bad decisions. All decisions were for the benefit of the boat.
That's not why she fired her, she fired her because she had more loyalty. Everyone wants Hannahs reasons to be captain Sandys and they're not.

I'm just wondering how much "setting up" of situations is occurring in order to create drama and explosive situations..it seems from their resumes several of the deck crew are actors. Take the burning pan incident, the cameraman was there almost before June got to the galley and would that pan really have been left as it was..like all "reality" series I take them with a pinch of salt
I agree 100%. I think as in all of the reality shows you can actually believe about 20% of it. If there wasn’t drama it would be no show.

Captain Sandy was very nice! She could have thrown at her how bad she was as the third stew also it would have cut the tip money short and the rest of the crew would have turned on her!
I agree. While she wasn't someone I really cared about, she wasn't told it could be temp! Sandy talked about how Anastasia stepped up when they needed, well so did June. Anastasia decided to take the job and then to back out. She gave up her job.
