- Similar to the Stephen King source material, Mike Flanagan's film doesn't give us all that much backstory on Rose the Hat so when I sat down with Rebecca Ferguson to talk about her experience making the movie, she weighed in on the potential of a Rose prequel. (Trust me; after seeing Doctor Sleep, you're going to want more of her!) On top of that, we also chatted about Ferguson's very real fear of jump scares, the most recent King novel she's read, a pivotal reaction shot that she absolutely nails in the third act of the film, and more!

She killed it. I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Rose the Hat another great villain for the King Cinematic Universe, and cinema.

The level of sweetness and equilibrium this woman's face is able to keep while having so many prominently gorgeous features (her eyes, nose, jawline, cheekbones just send me crazy everytime i focus on them) and such a rigorous structure is beyond my reach.

Agreed. I just saw the movie last night. I thought it was overall really good, but when she disappeared for the extended stretch towards the end (when they go to Colorado), her presence was sorely missed. I was also kind of sorry she had to "lose," simply because great villains like this are hard to come by.
I did root for her the entire movie, I was actually quite nervous thinking about how she would lose... I just couldn't help it 😂
I'm the kind of guy that can root for the villains especially beautiful ones like her. But I have to make an exception to this case since her character (along with her friends) brutally murders innocent children and seems to get off on it too. That's something I can't behind no matter how criminally seductive she appears to be. I was glad to see her character die the way she did. Despite all that, I have to give the actress her due credit. She played a fantastic villain. She did her job well.

What I love about Rebecca is that she says different things about Rose in different interviews. So u can kinda put things together. From what I’ve gathered is this-
Rose the is approximately 700 years old. She fled from Ireland for an unknown reason- during this time she turned Crow Daddy- and then at some point sailed to the America’s before it was “heavily” colonized. It’s highly implied that Rose got her hat during the Great Depression, which was supposedly a fun time for the Knot.

I was totally immersed by her ever since the first scene in the forest with the little girl, after that I was blown away in every scene featuring her. This interviewer is pretty cool too.

There really should be a stand alone movie for Rose the Hat and the True Knot even if Stephen King doesn't do a novel for their story (😏hint hint Mike Flanagan or anybody reading this). We know she's of Irish descent as Rose O' Hara but how the True Knot actually came to be, their powers of stealth and persuasion, their migration from country to country, and how they acquired thier wealth over centuries should all or could all be addressed on film. Watching "Doctor Sleep" and listening to an interview Rebecca Ferguson did about not minding doing an origin story kind of felt like that could very well be the case because the True Knot (while I enjoyed them on screen) died way too easily and fast. I don't even remember Silent Sarey using her powers in the movie if she did at all...she should've been the one to easily avoid that onscreen ambush.
It's ok but it was brilliant the True Knot inside the Doctor Sleep. Stephen King is a genious as well.

She gave a stellar performance in an excellent film.
Doctor Sleep walks a difficult line between adapting the book and being a sequel to the previous movie, and does so brilliantly. And weirdly, most of the characters were physically exactly as I had pictured them on the page. Particularly Rose.
For me it will from now on be watched in tandem with The Shining.

Well, first of all, she is Swedish.. AND before you start to hate me, she also 'starred' in a film called Snowman... Look that up too, it was a really bad and all KNOWN movie.. Ok, shutting up, Shining2 won't get awards, so that's the end of this.. Stop the hype allready.

TBH at first sight I thought her extreme beauty would be a problem to the film and the character, much more since they didn't do any "tricks" to water it down so I said to myself, at least I'm gonna enjoy watching her throughout the whole film but as the movie gets going she just terrified me, she made me hate Rose I was so angry at the character and just wanted her to be destroyed! But also felt at some point she wouldn't be defeated that she would get away with the awful things she did and that scared the crap out of me. DAAAAAAAAMN! SHE WAS MAGNIFICENT! Became one of my favorite actors, any movie she's in, I'm in.

This actress exudes sophistication and elegance in a bucolic way and a feminine behavior with a touch of geeky fashion. Wow always a pleasure to see her and her exuberant theatrical that brings to life all characters.
