I took delivery of my Canik TTI Combat in June of 2024. I proceeded to go to the range and shoot it with my standard 124 grain 9mm Sellier & Bellot (that I use on all my guns, including PPC with 0 issues). Nearly every other round would NOT fire. It was easy and quick to notice that the slide was not going back into battery. Pushing the slide with my thumb would temporarily “resolve” the issue, after another round was shot, then the cycle would start again. I immediately stopped and went out to the pro shop to purchase different weights and brands of 9mm loads just in case the gun was sensitive to a specific load or brand. Of 4 different brands and 3 different weights, NONE made a difference. All malfunctioned at the same or worse frequency. Incidentally, I do not reload my own ammunition; I only use quality rounds. All brass, all well known, well tested brands. I stopped, disassembled the gun and tried the included light spring. The problems got even worse. For the record, I am an experienced shooter, and I do not limp wrist. I invited other shooters in the range to come in and try it (just to make sure it was not me that was mishandling the gun in any way). They had either the same or worse experiences and a lot of raised eyebrows. Note that I own a Canik TP9SFX and I have not had a SINGLE issue with it. I absolutely LOVE that gun and purchased the TTI Combat based on my previous experience with Canik. At that point, I stopped (after about 200 rounds) and went home to thoroughly clean the gun as I heard rumors that the gun must be cleaned before it is shot, or that it requires xxx of rounds to “break in” the gun. A day later, after a thorough cleaning and inspecting all the parts, including purchasing two additional brand-new magazines, I went back to the range and bought new ammo in 119, 124, 148 and subsonic 160 grain. The TTI Combat malfunctioned the same way with either spring or either magazine. I went back home and sent out a message to Canik through their online service form including taking a picture of the slide when it was out of battery. Within 1 day, I received a very professional response from Canik stating that they recognize the issue and that they would be sending me through FedEx a new spring and to only use that one. I received the new spring that Canik sent within 2 days of my email/conversation. WOW. Ever since, the gun has NOT had a single malfunction. Not on ANY brand of ammo, ANY grain or ANY shooter. The problem was 100% fixed thanks to the new recoil spring assembly. In conclusion, I have to say that ANY company in ANY industry may experience problems. It is the way you HANDLE the problem, and you interface with the client base that makes all the difference. My experience with customer service at Canik was not mediocre, was not good, was not great, it was IMPECCABLE! Hence, I want to THANK the Canik service team for the manner and the matter in which they have handled this issue and resolved it satisfactorily. THANK YOU! I am a big fan and a return client.
So I just bought one and I’m gonna assume that canik has resolved this issue in the new version of guns, so I shouldn’t have any issues. Or I’m hoping it’s resolved
Always enjoy your honesty, however... I'm gonna have to say that I've had zero issues, and I just completed 1000 round review with my TTI, not a single malfunction or failure. It's definitely gonna be a keeper for me. Keep crushing it, bro🤜🤛
@@SMASHTIMEI don't understand these guns goes thru some serious tests before the market and uses by police forces and army in Turkey..Do you think this kind of failure those forces still will use it..I don't have this one but I have tp9 sfx competition ready model and I put lot of round on that and no problems..I would check that firing pin on that gun just n case..Did you buy this gun or someone send it to you for review????
Same here, I have the SFX version. I have tried several different ammo brands, steel case, brass case 115gr, 124grn, 147grn, +P, hollow points and FMJ and have never had any failures of any kind.
WOW!!!!!!! you saved me a lot of money. almost bought one at my local GS till I started to hear about all the problems, think I will stick with my GLOCKS instead. Cheers
I was thinking the same. Like to have saw how it ran for him. Looked like the kid was letting it move a little and that def will affect cycling. I mean if u let the firearm move action cannot!
My first 100 rounds on mine I had nothing but a ton of failure to feeds and no less then 5 light strikes . I now have 400 rounds through it and it is feeding perfectly fine. But I am still getting a lot of light primer strikes one every other mag. Canik is sending me a new recoil spring and striker assembly.
@@SMASHTIME I don't own any Caniks but have only heard good praises from those in my parts that do. I wanted the TTi to be my first.... but now I'm not so sure. Do I choose the TTi or just go all out and grab a Sig P210 and call it a day? Hmmm
I took mine to a course last Saturday and had 1 malfunction, a double feed. I was also shooting one handed because I had surgery on my left elbow and wrist. It was hand loaded 115 grain. The gun ran perfect with the mecanik optic. I also used the holster it came with. With the double feed, I couldn't clear it by myself. I had the flushfit mag in and I couldn't strip it from the magwell. So 1 malfunction out of 500ish rounds using 124 grain, 115 hand loads shooting with my right hand. I'll chalk that up to limp wristed it.
Great video I shot mine for the first time and had more problems with 147gr failure to eject and feed in the barrel. Brought it home and cleaned it and will see what happens tomorrow.
Pistols these days look so goofy. Can't wait for this Fad to end and go back to practicality. All these gizmos and gadgets for a shit group on a still target at 7 yards (Not you Smash, just those I unfortunately have to share space with on Earth)
Great video! I get it! Great marketing strategy by Canik. Taran's name is going to sale. Let's face it it's a "poor man's" Cooper head. The oppertive word is "Combat." Is it really a combat pistol? It's not much better than a regular Rival or Rival S. Imo Over Hyped! 👍👍
It is an aesthetically beautiful pistol, it is a shame that it is so bad in the 124 gauge, there you are really paying for it, the box is the only functional thing. But if you don't have a use for it, send it to me since I don't have one and I accept it with great enthusiasm since in my country they are very expensive and permits are a problem.
I have my canik Rival over a year 0 malfunctions 115 Gr right out of the box ,has shot everything the 50 Gr Underwood 147 . The Metal gun came out shortly after the Rival's .I Decided to wait I Put a Delta point Pro on it new, It had and still has the Best out of Box Wide Trigger i have shot ever . I will be keeping a good one like mine. I have another Favorite a staccato But i shoot it with iron sites . The DR920 P I had to break in with 200 rounds of Hot ammo after 200 rounds 115 gr it shoots everything My favorite thing is The Front Sight does not Replicate it stays out Front Great For iron sight shooting . CZ's I really Like But i carry the lightweight's .

I've had high praises and hope for canik over the years. god bless take care.
That's why I don't mind if a gun is slightly used. If the manufacture runs a couple of mags through it to make sure it functions, then I'm fine with that.
I have an SFX. Out of the box I had cycling issues with 115gr. Swapped out the recoil spring to a blue 1. Runs flawless now. Just warn against using +p with blue spring.
picked mine up at the store with a range so unlubed and straight out the box fired 150 rounds of sellier & bellot 124 grain had two stove pipes and 3 failure to feed but could be because they blocked my mags to 10 rounds…. did some googling and found out you have to keep the slide locked for 24 hours for the stock spring to break in and took it to the range next weekend and it was flawless… and still not lubed up. im assuming it will run better if cleaned and lubed. but overall great gun for the looks but for function and value the rival S wouldve been a better value coz of the 3 mags included. and the TTI only comes with 2
i heard talk around the grape vine this pistol was rushed out the door with out extensive testing which wouldnt surprise me if its true but i have to ask if you inspected the nose of the rounds that didnt feed or the casing on the ones that didnt allow the slide to go into battery for any abnormal markings also just out of curiosity what is the feed ramp like is it polished or coated in anyway

1000 on mine and zero issues.....
