Interesting conversation. I think the one part that got lost was when Simon was questioned around 'how are you making money'. The answer seemed a little contradictory. Because he sold his business he has financial freedom and so now he's sorted, he's now giving stuff away for free. But he didn't give stuff away whilst making the money and then said it's a personal evolution when you realise you want to give away for free. But I guess the action speaks louder. He didn't do this before he sold - he did it after. But his argument of 'having enough' was likely true before sale too.
I think it was a great conversation and certainly feels like Simon has a great ethos for the future but his mission is a little blurred at the moment.
I guess it's the age old question of 'when is enough, enough?'

Felt like a lecture from Simon more than a discussion 🤷🏼‍♂️ let James speak

Simon, I am amazed that James seemed to struggle to get his mind round so much of what you said. Giving his info away totally for free blew his mind and he just kept trying to justify his charging model. The key phrase YOU use is that you have more money than you could ever spend from selling your company. It frees you up to not have to worry about income. You understand the process to build business, it has a fundamental core of purpose. You’ve weaponised the social media funding model, which is free to entry. How much money does James need to make the shift and evolve to no charge?
The trap of monthly income and the pain if that money is not there stops people changing their lives.
If you don’t have the £30 per month for a course because you either have to eat or heat, your model facilitates the ability to really make their dream happen. Even if it’s “just a coffee shop!”

if you follow this guy he sells agency courses to people , his own agency ronald james does around £2.8-3 million turnover , he claims he can help other agency owners get to 100k a month turnover without sales call whatso ever , recruitment is a peoples game developing relationship

Thank you guys, I enjoyed the podcast, there were definitely some really interesting ideas and discussions, I guess it depends really where you are at life and how have you gotten there to think about giving value for free or not!

I have time and some spare gold but I don't have one completely solid business idea. I did a couple of self employed jobs but met bad luck and found I had a poor plans as other thing developed around my work. A relaunch of one of the old jobs would work but not on my own again.

I like the interview but it should be cut into themes. I had to watch it whole but I was interested in just a small part of it. But I couldn't find the part I am interested in without watching it whole.

I love that this other business owner is questioning James Blackwell. It's good to have people who speak authoritatively on their views to large audiences questioned and put on the spot about whether their beliefs make sense - especially by others at or above their level of financial success.

Loved this! And…the law of attraction is not real the way people in business make it seem. There is obvious shifts in a person who is only focused on what’s wrong, or where they can see a solution, but the law of attraction is magic, not physics. I spent YEARS in the law of attraction and new age/new thought, and it’s MAGIC. It’s manipulation taking it to a esoteric manner. Choose to grow and mature and see solutions yes, but the law of attraction is not real. We cannot magically create and the “universe” is not sentient in itself. Sorry I hope that doesn’t come across rude and cruel, I just think this subject is such a grotesque trap.

I’m looking for the words to make a comment, but none of them are even remotely nice. It’s like a comedy CEO interview micky take/sketch, but it feels awkward as james is actually serious. Interviewers did well to lead him into topics on which he consistently embarrassed himself, and did an even better job to keep a straight face doing so. It’s just a shame his market is recruitment - a perfect example of what’s wrong with the industry. Even more worrying that people pay for his guidance.

And no, it’s not his success…I have LOVED all the other pods and other guests…just something about him.
Keep up the great work chaps! Less James…more Dodge and Piers. Both amazing people and pods 🫡
